So, I'm just interested, how old were you when you discovered NiGHTS?

I was about 8, found a Sega Saturn+NiGHTS, Madden 97' and Daytona at my local transfer station (like a dump/landfill, with more recycling).

*working out math in head, head not quite work* I believe I was 13 when NiD came out, can't recall exactly when I got it though, but I was either 13 or 14

I technically discovered NiGHTS, that is, I found out NiGHTS existed, when I was around 5 or 6 in the form of the pinball machine in Casinopolis in Sonic Adventure. I asked my brother who it was and he just answered "Oh that's NiGHTS, it's a different Sega game.", and that was that.

But I really got into NiGHTS when my brother decided to get a Sega Saturn back when I was 12 or 13. I remembered that NiGHTS was a Saturn game and immediately went to eBay to find the game. I finally got it, and joy was had.

I was 10 when NiGHTS came out and I knew about it from the start. I remember thinking that it looked really cool and loved playing the demo in a store. I don't think I actually got a Saturn until the following year, but it was one of my first games.

Sonic Adventure was my favorite game, and I was always taken by the glam surreality of the NiGHTS pinball table. I found out it was from a game, and devoured everything about NiGHTS. Not too exciting, but there you go. I was 12, I think.

I believe I was about 10 when I was first introduced to NiGHTS, although it was only for a brief moment. I later rediscovered NiGHTS when I was about 22...I wanted to remember what the game was I played so many years ago.

I think that I was in seventh or eighth grade when I first discovered NiGHTS. I had already seen the commercials for the game and my then newest friend had brought her copy of the Archie comics for me to read (quiet!). I bought the game a couple of years later and rediscovered him through the Sonic Adventure Casino Nights pinball table.

I first discovered NiGHTS on my 15th birthday when I got Sonic and SEGA all-stars racing for my birthday. Even though NiGHTS was just a flagman she really intrigued me. It wasn't until August 5th when I stumbled across JOD in HMV while out with my grandparents.
To be honest it took me a while to fall in love with the game but when I did I used to play it religiously every night for 2 months.

About when I was 11 or 12, I found NiGHTS through the Sonic Stadium and some fansites thereof linked from there.

I started drawing NiGHTS when I was 15, so I guess I discovered it about then? I don't remember how exactly, but I had just gotten into Sonic 2 years prior, so I was probably looking for art, which led me to this French site... Dream Avenue? The owner drew Sonic and NiGHTS art and I was totally captivated by the character. I've still not played the original NiD. Come ooooooooonnnn, NiGHTS port!

I first saw it as a kid when it first came out (there was an article in a gaming magazine comparing it unfavorably to Sonic) and then I started getting really into the game a lot later on as an adult, when I went to a con and saw someone playing it who was ridiculously skilled at it.

I'm not exactly sure, but it was after I really became acquainted with the Sonic Adventure games. NiGHTS had enough cameos in those games that I became interested in learning more about the series.
I remember seeing commercials for JoD, but at that point I still hadn't known anything about it. I later would buy the game at Gamestop though, and topping that by buying a Sega Saturn and NiD off ebay.

I remember it pretty vividly

My older neighbor(who I thought was badass of course being 10 and him 15 in 1996) Decided to sell me his Genesis. I already had a SNES which is far stronger but I was convinced that the Sega Genesis was way better even though the Sega Saturn was already out(could be there American Sega ads back then making me think that) or the fact I thought my neighbor was cooler.

Anyway he gave me one game with the genesis- Barkleys Shut up and Jam pretty fun game but my parents didnt enjoy the title and I wasnt into bball in real life, so my parents offered to let me rent a game at blockbuster. It somehow turned into me renting a Sega cd addon there with Willy Beamish. Agian a cool game but basically a text adventure so my parents offered to go back and try agian.

Im pretty sure thats when I rented a Saturn instead with NiGHTS and ill always remember even my dad was impressed with how smooth nights flew(he also liked how aladin grab ledges in snes) the only compliments ive heard him say to games. Though its possible I rented another sega cd game and rented the Saturn later.

After that I had a genesis and snes for a while when there were newer systems, and played Sonic 3d blast pretending it was a Saturn. And Super Mario RPG pretending it was a N64.

Eventually got a N64 in 97 I think for my 11th bday. Not sure when I bought a Saturn I think I rented it at least 4 times when I was younger then bought it when it was pretty outdated in 8th grade. I had all the good games then sold it to electronics boutique when I was in high school ><

I'm glad I'm not the only person who did things like this as a child. I was always at least one generation of games systems behind, and I used to get defensive about it and say things like 'what's wrong with the Master System? there are perfectly fun games on the Master System! Alex Kidd is more awesome than Sonic anyway!' and then secretly pretend the Master System was a Mega Drive.
