What are your New Years resolutions for 2012? Have you ever stuck to any in the past?
Here are mine for this year:
1. Take better care of myself.
2. Lose a lot of weight.
3. Stop hating on myself so much.
4. Be a bit more ruthless instead of being a pushover all the time.
5. Remember that even on days were it feels like the universe hates me there will always be people out there who love me and would miss me for different reasons.
6. Actions over thoughts.
7. Learn Japanese properly.
8. Always wear a watch.
9. Remember my own mobile phone number.
10. Draw more even if it's just a scribble every night.

I've never really been one for formal New Year's Resolutions - I'm pretty committed to constant self-improvement, but have never really thought of the New Year as being a particularly good time to set goals.
But this year I think it'll be fun to see if I can watch 52 movies in theaters this year. I have a bachelor's degree in cinema and movies are one of my greatest passions, so I think this is a worthy challenge!

Ya know, I haven't actually made any this year. It's not that bad though since I always forget what my resolutions are by next week anyway.
I find it hard to believe you don't remember your own phone number but if you say so.9. Remember my own mobile phone number.
52 movies?! Wow, that's a lot of films in one year. Are you going to subject yourself to even the worst of the worst?...I think it'll be fun to see if I can watch 52 movies in theaters this year...

1. Write my second novel (80k words in one year)
2. Get first novel published (find agent first)
3. Practice more "Kung Fu" (without sustaining injuries)
4. Reply back to my friend's messages within one month
5. Learn to cook at least three decent/fancy meals
Hey Trippy, you could use a memory technique to memorize your phone number. That's what I had to do with my mobile no. I read about it in a book called, "Moonwalking with Einstein". It's about creating "Memory Palaces" by using a combination of visual and spatial memory to encode information in such a way that it sticks in your memory more. If you are interested I recomend you type "memory palace" or "linking method" into google.

The reason I worded it as 52 in the year rather than one a week is so I can double-up when good movies are out so I can hopefully avoid the worst of the worst.

I'm with Nemoide on the formal resolutions. They used to make us come up with some resolutions when I was still in grade school, although I don't know why.
Buuuut, after all that happened throughout 2011, I've really taken a moment to sit down and reconsider.
So:
-Stop being sad, and start being awesome.
Time goes by way too fast to be bogged down and miserable.
-Stop trying to take on other peoples' problems and trying to make them happy.
I can only take care of myself; I can't always change everyone else or make their situations instantly better. Sometimes it's gonna be rough, but part of life is hanging in through thick and thin.
-Spend money a little more wisely.
I don't go throwing it around, but I should be a little more conscious about where/how I'm spending. This week is my only exception, since I'm going up for MAGFest.
-Think before I speak. Think about what it is I'm going to say, how it is I'm going to say it, and what my body language may or may not indicate.
Kind of self explanatory. Let's just say I found this out the hard way.
Anyway.
Cheers and happy new year!

I just bothered to scribble down some today.
-Attempt an animation I've been wanting to do
-Get a Kingdom Hearts/mega crossover RP up and running
-Finish that darn Durarara parody
-Actually implement my long line of Sonic fanfic ideas/ other fanfic ideas
-Challenge my drawing skills more
-Learn basic Japanese
-Learn to study and stop procrastinating

*BUMP* to update resolution status...
TOTAL FAILURE! I've only seen 16 movies in theaters this year - there's no way I can catch up. By March, I was pretty burnt out.
But I want to know, how are other people doing with their resolutions! Still keeping up with them? Still remembering what they are?
