Hey, how have you guys been?

I know that this game has actually been pushed for a while now and is supposed to come out this summer, but I wanted to hear you guys' thoughts about it.

Set in a city where young men are dying of mysterious causes after cheating on their significant others, the game follows the trial of Vincent Brook, a scruffy guy who finds himself caught between a rock and a hard place when his long-time girlfriend begins pressuring him to marry her. This, coupled with his fear concerning the mysterious deaths (one being an associate of his), Vincent continues drinking in order to calm his frayed nerves. However, he is approached by a young woman who strangely enough has all of the physical characteristics that he desires and ends up spending the night with her. Immediately afterwards, Vincent begins having many grotesque nightmares in which he and countless other men (who all look like sheep) are forced to climb a constantly crumbling tower in which they will die in the waking world if they die in the dream world. As the game progresses, Vincent has to not only survive long enough to solve the mystery, but he is also forced to choose between his girlfriend and his mistress.

From what I heard (and seen), the game is brutally difficult even on the easier modes (although Atlus made a patch to make it easier). It also has multiple endings that can be accessed through the player's actions, interactions with others, and answers to questions.

In my humble opinion, the game has a very interesting concept and storyline and has a character who seems somewhat believable. The only downside, for me at least, is that it is a horror/puzzle game and I don't do very well with horror games.

So, do you guys have any thoughts on the Catherine game?

You don't do well with horror games? Haha, I don't do well with puzzle games. Still, the talk of difficulty is what lead me to owning Demon's Souls so Catherine is definitely no different. I love difficult but still beatable games.

Catherine has definitely been on my radar since Atlus released trailers for it. The story is very relevant to my interests, but the gameplay looks a little iffy to me from what I've seen. Still, I'm perfectly willing to give it a chance.

I love disturbing games, but I definitely have grown out of my love for extremely hard games. This game's storyline might just be enough to get me to push past the bouts of insane difficulty, plus the visual direction looks awesome. Its almost like a Japanese David Lynch style game. Looking forward to playing the demo at least.

Catherine has had my interest for a while. Difficulty has never been a detriment to me. The story idea sounds delightfully interesting as well as a little provocative. Also, hearing about a highly subtle morality system makes me want to put it to the test because morality choices in games lately are rather obvious. Gameplay wise it sounds to take advantage of the dream concept in that physics in the puzzles are inconsistent and things don't often behave the way you expect them.

It sounds highly experimental but that's enough to make me want to try it, especially considering the game industry is arguably pumping out more sequels then ever before.

I've just heard of the game. Sounds really interesting, as there aren't many games that go into this sort of themes. Reminds me a bit of Heavy Rain in some aspects.
The nightmare portions seem to be quite intricate and enjoyable (as well as bloody hard). Experimental games ahoy! Let's see what this has got to give.
