I'd actually like them to port the EyeToy NiGHTS to the XBOX Kinect. That would be a treat as it was my first NiGHTS game. It'd work 10 times better on the Kinect as well.
That would be fuuuuuun~

As of this morning, the post SEGA made about NiGHTS has had over a thousand likes. That's been the most response they've seen on their official FB page for anything within the last two months.
This was exactly what i meant. The NiGHTS community itself will always be a small group but if you're going to ask the general gaming community if they would like to play NiGHTS again you can bet your ass 90% of them will say "YES! GIVE IT TO ME NOW!" XD
Lol, this is what i was trying to show SEGA all along with the NiD15 campaign. Yesterday, man, did we make one hell of an impression! XD

The PS2 version is niice~ Still I'll buy the port when it's out. Because SEGA's making it. Yeah.

I've always felt the Kinect makes everyone look kinda silly playing a game. If that was like the teaser of a possible NiGHTS remake, I wouldn't like it very much. It'd be hard to do as much as NiGHTS does now, speed, links, paraloops...

Which I actually had no idea! I thought this was known, but not so widely loved. That's awesome!

Thought: What if the port had custom music options.. so we could, like, play levels using Lucid Dreaming tracks for example..
If it's an XBLA then that's a definite All Xbox 360 games are required to have custom soundtracks by default.

Only issue is, they're not really "custom soundtracks." The system just allows you to play your music mixed with the game audio, and mutes the game's own BGM. Kinda like playing your MP3 player with the same stereo and turning off the game music. Very lame.If it's an XBLA then that's a definite All Xbox 360 games are required to have custom soundtracks by default.
I don't suppose there's any new internal rumblings at SEGA about the facebook (or NiD15, or Lucid Dreaming) response...?

Yeah you're right. The Custom Soundtrack feature has always been a little half arsed and a right pain to actually use in the first place.

I say we Ask Sega to include that as an Option in the gaem & actually Play some of the LD tracks in the game like in rematch with the boss levels if they decide to make some like we had with JOD.
I say we should also tell sega to give Jackle a bigger Role in the game plus more Lines. Maybe a Jackle Story mode like a side story to the remake or port to give Jackle more popularlity and to give an idea of how he felt bout fighting his Brother & what happen to him afterwards. Did he truly die or did you reappear somewhere Like Reala did in JOD? Plus we need Selph to apper finally.
WHO'S WITH ME ON THIS IDEA!?

Here's my wishlist for the port:
Cleaned up graphics, a step up from even the PS2 version would be sweet
Online 2 player NiGHTS vs. Reala mode
Online leaderboards (though we know the players who would conquer this already)
Christmas NiGHTS with all features intact
Long shots:
A boss mode where you can fight only Nightmaren would be awesome, to practice those 2.0 techniques
True custom music selection, or if Sega made like Capcom with SSFIIHDRemix and included Lucid Dreaming within the game as selectable music
A NiGHTS theme and/or avatars on PSN and XBLA (surprisingly PSN has no avatars for Sonic)

The chances of SEGA adding to this are slim should they do a port. I mean, we still had to show them this campaign to see if they would even port the normal game first, let alone make any additions and inclusions to it.
Probably gonna be a bit too wishful thinking, eh.

I think that, as of right now, just expect a port of everything you've already played before, if anything.

your right but do you think sega will make a NiGHTS 3

-The ability to leave a dream, like in Christmas NiGHTS
-A boss mode
That's all. People get too touchy when Sega changes things too much (*coughJoDcough*)

As in everything that made the game a legend & such remain, add new stuff like new bosses (Selph I'm talkin bout you) new levels (Again Selph) christmas NIGHTS game included.
The Boss Rush that was mentioned but Playing the Lucid Dreaming boss music for that Boss with some words censored of course for the children Cough New Mantle with the D & H word censored Cough.
Having the Lucid Dreaming music in a music room like we had for JOD & the PS2 in addition to the original game music in the same game room to play & listen to like you could in JOD.
Jackle Story for him & the fans of Jackle. A side story to the remake or port to give Jackle more popularlity and to give an idea of how he felt bout fighting his Brother & what happen to him afterwards mainly.
And then the 2 Player thing or Maybe 4 player for those who want to come over & play. Can you say NIGHTS VS. Reala VS. Jackle VS. anyone else you want? Maybe have it random generator the marens for computer battle & races. in otherwords you can chose who to play as for 2 player mode out of all the Bosses & characters.
Jackle as a main character for his story obviously with NIGHTS either helping or fighting him in a what if type thing or something before realizing NIGHTS was right & going after Wizeman. Plus a new original story to explain what happens next for our invisible man Heh.
That Avatar idea is good. We should also get Sega to do the same for Sonic & friends.
Everything you all suggested.
Jackle to have more lines in battle & before & after.
I mean we want this to be a very big & important thing for NIGHTS right? Well Sega's listening so this is the time to start asking for this stuff. And for the concept of NIGHTS 3 to be made one day.

It'll probably just be a very basic redo of the PS2 port/original Saturn version with very few new stuff, if any.

Let's think about this rationally now, okay? IF NiGHTS does get ported, and that's a big if still despite the generous attention its been getting lately, it will either be a disc-based release or a downloadable release. Quickie high-level summary of the general pros and cons of both:
Disc release:
Pros:
* more likely to support all current home consoles, including Wii (if they have the money to code for all three)
* Longer game lifetime (discs last longer than any DLC because downloads will, eventually at some point, be shut down)
* Can fit larger filesize (High res textures, progressive scan up-scaled video files, more bonus content, etc.)
Cons:
* EXPENSIVE
* Shipping costs
* Load time
Digital Download Release:
Pros:
* Cheaper
* No shipping costs, making it easier to distribute
* Higher availability on release (don't have to worry about copies being sold out or discontinued)
* Less Load Times (unless it is REALLY poor coding)
Cons:
* Consumes more hard drive space
* highly unlikely to support the Wii
* Harder to fit materials into filesize constraints
* Less Historical Viability (related to limited existence of ability to download)
Now to some more technical things to consider:
From a business standpoint, it makes little sense for the Sega of now to consider a disc release for NiGHTS. Making discs costs a lot of money, even for one console, let alone for two or three. The cost of making a physical package plus the extra cost of coding alone would make a port somewhat inviable on the Wii (sorry, Wii-only owners. I'm not being a pessimist, just a realist). For sake of argument, I'm going to assume a port for the Wii isn't happening. DVD production (XBOX360 discs) costs have gone down, but the cost of making the case and covers has not, and the cost of shipping things around the world has only gone up. Bluray production (PS3 discs) costs are still pretty high, and coupled with the cost of making the case and covers and shipping, doesn't make much sense. I can't make any assumptions about the cost of porting, so I can't compare game costs with the costs of distribution directly, but it is safe to say that any game distributed on a physical medium that isn't guaranteed to move units probably isn't going to get a greenlight from Sega. This is why riskier games and indie games are so often released on the digital games marketplaces (PSN, XBLA, Steam) since the cost of pressing, shipping and printing is more expensive than the cost of bandwidth - there's less to lose.
On to a different topic, I'm 99.99999% sure they wouldn't be doing a fresh port from the original Saturn game. I remember hearing a rumor that Yuji Naka "burned the source code because he was furious that Sonic X-Treme had been given access to it" but after much googling, I can not validate this claim anywhere. It is most-likely that the code for the Saturn has either been lost or was used for the PS2 remake, if anything. Even with the source code, it would be a terrible hassle to reinvent the wheel, so to speak. The PS2 port was already done, and that code is much easier to examine, recode, and port to the current hardwares than raw Saturn code. As long as they still have the rights to use it, the PS2 code would be what is likely to be used.
I'll have to continue this later after I get a chance to analyze the file structures for the SAT NiGHTS, SAT XMAS NiGHTS, and PS2 NiGHTS. For now, I can say with firm conviction that the total size of the game port would be aprox 1.5 gb in size, therefore being withing the restrictions of the XBLA 2gb limit and the PSN 4gb limit.
While I would love a port on the 3DS or the Vita, the platforms themselves have yet to prove their long-term viability (3DS is currently more "lackluster" in sales in Nintendo's eye than it should be, and Vita isn't even out yet). Not putting it out of the running, but I think we should be conservative with assumptions if we even HAVE assumptions at this point.
A final note for the moment: I wish I could say that simple things like online scoreboards, custom soundtracks, and replay saving would be a "given" for any NiGHTS port. They really should be the easiest things to be coded in. However, seeing all the lazy ports of Sonic and friends, and even the ports on the iOS for Streets of Rage, I have to agree with DiGi that anything more than a barebones PS2 or Saturn port is "wishful thinking".
Let us appreciate the small victories for now, and keep our eyes peeled for updates.

I would be interested in finding out what Selph really looks like, but to be honest there are so many fan-made Selphs, I think they'd feel pretty awkward if they found out what he REALLY looks like.
