Since it's a special occassion I decided to kick the forums up the bum a bit and upgrade the system version it uses. This means people can actually post and register again without being drowned in annoying spambots trying to register _-_; Sorry about that guys, the reason i took so long to fix the issue was because I'd been busy with work and to be honest there wasn't much going on in terms of NiGHTSy news anyway. BUT this week marks NiGHTS' 15th anniversary and I guess a lot of people will have the date in their memories and pass through for nostalgia. So using the power of TEAMWORK *coughDex&Myst* we purchased a nice shiny new system and skin. I hope you enjoy it, I was going for something simple, stylish and easy on the eyes.

... Though the urge to change it all to the hideous first incarnation of the EZboards forum skin was rather overwhelming XD Maybe if i get bored for lulz... RETRO!

New things you'll notice on the forums is firstly the ability to sign in using Facebook (I'm sure that's useful for SOMETHING) (Somehow)
Cool topic sig pic images instead of boring ones. Now you can SEE who last spoke in a topic.
A cool side slidy side bar that is full of useful features.
The ability to share topics via Facebook, twitter etc etc.

And more. I'm still getting used to it myself though so no doubt i'll add more features as i discover them.

I'll also be adding a few new user groups as a way of thanking people who have really helped the community in some way or another. See it as motivation to help the community around you.

In the mean time, see this as a kick in the pants. I'll be a lot more active around here now since I have all my RL stuff sorted out. Make new signatures, profile graphics, topics, heck knock yourselves out. If you were ever nostalgic about NiGHTS this is the month to be nostalgic. 15 years. That's a long time. And also a long time that I've known you guys. But I'll save that for another topic huh?

This place has definitely come a long way. You've really outdone yourselves with this new look. In a way, I kinda see this design as something that SEGA would have on their official forums if they had a NiGHTS specific section. I don't think they'd give it as much TLC though.

This is looking really good! Looks all official and stuff. Major thanks to Dex for being a hero. Sadly, I was asleep at the time and I only got a hold of what the hell happened a few hours after it was all sorted out. But, nevertheless, good to see everything fixed!

Anyhow, looking stylish =)


Quick question, though. Is it possible to have the username of who posted last on the main forums page? Like it was on the previous skin, instead of just having the date and time of the most recent post at whatever sub-forum.

Cool, the diamond NiD motif for the wallpaper is a nice touch

I agree with Utter Magic though, it was easier to tell when new posts were made to threads before..

I almost had a panic attack when I saw the entire forum change and the "View New Posts" button disappeared! I live off that thing even when there's nothing I have worth saying!

But I like it so far, and hopefully this place will be buzzing a lot more this week! Welcome back, and here we go again! 15 years!

Well, TRAV, if you look at the upper-right corner, you can see something that says "View New Content" which is the same thing

And, on that section, there's also the username of the last poster right under the date and time. Hey!

Oh, I love the little 'Topics' under the Watched Content on the tab on the right. That little tab is great!

Yeah DiGi pointed out lastnight that the username/last post thing is a problem. It seems to be a skin feature so i'm not sure if it can be fixed unless Myst has magic powers. There doesn't seem to be any option for it in my CP.

As for Top banner linking to website i'll get on thta just now, though there's already a link to nidcom up there at the mo.

And for anyone with an iPhone or Android, the forums have a specialized mobile version that makes checking your favourite forums much easier when you're out and about! Awesome!

Oh, by the way, just because it was changed, while the board banner takes you to the actual site, the hover text box still says "Go to board index". Just thought I'd point that out.

One thing I don't like about the new design is that you have two scrolls on your profile page. One for the page itself and another one for the actual profile part. Any chance this can be modified to display the profile entirely without the need to scroll the profile itself?
