So the demo... regarding speed runs
what is your best time so far? Mine is 00:50.56
it's a really fun demo, looking forward to playing the modern section whenever they release a demo for that.

Why are there so many people complaining about Metal Sonic look? He looks exactly the same...

See I dunno, like I said there in the picture it seems to look like they took the current Metal Sonic and shortened the limbs; if not that then it's an unnecessarily awkward perspective shot on regular Metal Sonic for no reason. The actual 'classic' Metal Sonic look still had long arms and legs, just different hands and a darker color. And Sega didn't respond to my sort-of-inquiry on Twitter about it.

I assume it was to make him match Classic Sonic, but the made Metal...kinda dumpy.
And ugh, I really don't want to get an Xbox for 2 games, but the Wii seems to be left in the dust a lot. Is the $200 worth it, Xbox owners?

Yeah, they're pretty nifty.
I do hate that they made Metal Sonic SUPAH KAWAII, seeing as he's my favorite character, and that he never actually looked like that, but hell, as long as he's in it.
People are talking about screenshots of Seaside Hill (AKA Green Hill Zone 2), but I can't seem to find them.

So I was in a local Borders bookstore today, the whole chain is going out of business, so all magazines are 40% off. Something that caught my eye was "Game Master Presents SONIC." It came in a cardboard envelope; a sizeable magazine along with a sheet of Sonic 1 stickers, a double sided Sonic poster, and a set of 4 Sonic badges. The articles in the magazine may be more fluff than "objective gaming history" but I'm really pleased to add this to my collection. It seems to be a British publication, but with a lot of cool Sonic stuff.
The MSRP is $15, which is more than I would pay, but if you can get to a Borders and find an awesome discount you should look for it!

Note: classic Sonic toys are now at Gamestop http://www.gamestop..../olfsi_081011-2
.aspx
picked up a classic Sonic from one of two local Gamestops (only one had any of them, they didn't have classic Tails in), I'm tempted to fix a couple paint problems and it's too bad the Motobug's wheel doesn't turn (unless it's incredibly tight..?) but still charming nonetheless

As far as Sonic toys go, I'm looking forward to the Sonic Nendoroid - http://www.figure.fm... Nendoroid.html
Nendoroids tend to be high quality; there's not a huge amount of info about it yet, but I'm hoping he comes with a "classic" face in addition to the modern style.
Those classic Sonic action figures do look cool though...

also, classic Robotnik toy http://www.ebay.com/...#ht_2719wt_1037
Super Sonic is apparently a Toys R Us exclusive pack, got one, and a classic Tails! The little figures are like, $11, slightly pricier than at Gamestop. The Super Sonic pack is $22.99
(didn't see Robotnik in stock, they had mostly everything else minus the small classic Sonic w/Motobug)
Soundtrack- http://www.sonicstad...e-to-pre-order/
In other news, Sonic CD is coming to XBLA, PSN and iOS with both soundtracks selectable later this year
