So, Minecraft. That thing that's been sweeping the internets for the past few months. After seeing a few videos on various Gaming websites, I decided to give it a try for myself. It's kinda hard to describe to someone. It's like, if someone mixed pure essence of addiction, customization and time wasting and made a game out of it XD.

Basically, you start in a randomly created massive epic world of blocks. You go around punching cows and trees, then build tools so you can mine rocks and sh!t, so you can build massive buildings and stuff. There's a day/night cycle, and things go definitely go bump in the night. When the sun goes down, you better hide your ass cause Creepers come to blow you up, Skeletons shoot arrows and ride giant spiders, and zombies roam the land.

OH AND YOU CAN ATTACH A SADDLE TO A PIG AND RIDE A PIG.

The game right now is a constant WiP, and is still in Alpha. You can buy it right now for half price because of it's current state, and this entitles you to all future updates and the final release. It's only £8, and I think the guy that made this fully deserves the dosh. It's some kinda awesome.

Does anyone here play it or has played it? I got it 2 weeks ago and my god, nothing sucks time up as much as this. I deliberately stay off it cause I know 4 hours can go by just like that.

If you've built anything awesome, post it here (F1 + F2 takes a neat screenshot).

I'll start us off! I built the Dreamgate from Journey of Dreams :)

I bought Minecraft but my laptop is so craptastic it lags even on a game like this. Either way, it's addicting and I still can't believe I bought a game in Alpha. Really though, this game has a great start and it's only going to get better. It's Sandbox in the purest sense and the reason it's so fun is it give people the ability to create. So good. :)

Awesome Dream Gate btw. XD

@Jof - Oh my gosh. How did you get those trees so close to each other? O_O

@Zero-Shift - It might lag because starting up the game costs about 500 M with the commit charge. >.>

Minecraft is awesome. The only sucky thing at the moment is that I began at the far edge of an island and my sky (soon to be castle) town needs more dirt. Last time I went out to explore the unknown, I got completely lost and only got back by building a boat and gliding along the coast. Take THAT you stupid skeletons. Speaking of which, I need a watchtower along the skinny strip of land leading to the Unknown Continent. >.> Also, mature Slimes spawn in Peaceful mode for some reason. O_o

Farming cacti has never been more fun. Just set 'em up and watch as those spiders die. >:3

Jof.... WOW. That's badassery right there, sir.

I've not been brave enough to commit myself to playing. The three major people that I hang out with in real life have all purchased their copies and .. well ... it's consumed them. I will give them credit, because when they all get together and compare how they do things, the conversation is hil-freaking-larious.

And if Zero's laptop is better than my laptop or desktop computer, I couldn't run it to save my life anyway.

I have been wondering just what the hell MineCraft was exactly, so thanks for the info. I don't think i'll have the time to get in to something like it though but keep posting those creations. They're awesome, mate!

Minecraft is one of those games that really doesn't look addictive at all but judging by well over dozens of people's opinion about the game it's safe to say that it probably hooks people faster than WoW. I really want to play it but like so many others, my PC isn't up to par. One of these days I'll upgrade. One of these days.

    Oh, and NiGHTS.
I really wish I could get this game. I tried out the classic version, and that was already great as it was, but, the Alpha version sounds alot better. Shame that I can't use PayPal, I hope they start using some different payment methods soon, then I'd get the game.

Btw, that Dreamgate looks so amazing!

Thank you, Kisukeroo!

I've got wolves everywhere, but I play on peaceful and their following me around is annoying. :) I've had it rain and snow next to each other; it's pretty cool. I never seems to rain for me, though.
