Last night I had a twisted nightmare... It switched back and forth between experiencing the events and me reading them aloud from a large novel....Has this happened to anyone else?

Recently I too have had a reading dream, only it was a manga called Hikaru no Go. In the beginning the only thing that was visible were the pictures in the book, then there was a short cutscene of me pointing out that one of the characters looked like another character from the same series.

Hm, I've never had a dream that was self-referential like that. But I have had dreams that involved reading things. One of them was actually pretty funny, but that's a story for another day.

That happened to me once, yes. I was reading this book for huge, binge periods. And, I had a dream I was reading one of the books, but it had nothing to do with the main character XD. Actually, it was about NiGHTS being this king and this person I know being NiGHTS's Queen O.o! It kinda switched between me reading it and me seeing it, but only the "seeing" stuff was shown for split seconds. It was kinda strange....

I dream about playing games I'm also the star of, in fact that's how I got the earliest LD I can remember.

I can't say I've had a dream quite like that, but I think it's fun to point out that some say you're not supposed to be able to read words in dreams. Apparently the part of our minds we use for dreaming doesn't use the part of the brain that allows for reading, so it's supposed to look garbled. Unfortunately I don't have a reference for this, so if anyone can find something on this, post it or let me know. I'm interested. ^^

Funny thing is I've had many dreams where I've read signs and letters and books, and I can remember them word for word.

Neat dream though. Self-referencing... neat stuff.

Interesting.... I've never had a dream like that. Did you read before you went to bed? Since dreams recall past memories or events, that would be my best guess.

I have had a couple of dreams like that. The only one I could remember was the time I was reading a comic book with Reala in it. There were words in the comic but I wasn’t really paying attention to them, instead my mind just feed me the words. I don’t know how else to put it.

Usually most of the time when I try to read something it blurs up.

I think that's interesting. It's like saying you are involved with you're own imagination since that's what most books are. The result of someone's imagination written in words. At least that's what I think. :3 You're in touch and involved with the minds of others and with the vast imagination in your own head.

sounds like Fushigi Yuugi gone wrong. XD jk.

I have had dreams where I am reading text, and the words are so close to my face I can only see one or 2 words at a time, and sometimes. I know I am reading, but I don't see anything like I memorized the books text. It usually happened to me when I have to get up for school and my mom yelled at me to get up, but I drift off again for another 5 mins. XD But I graduated so I haven't gotten them for a while.
