It's some kind of demented mutant offspring of that Shadow The Hedgehog game and just about everything else, and it's got pokemorphs in it, too, so you can't possibly get much more good bad good amazing than this!

What the HELL is this?! First page and my brain already hurts and I skimmed it.

For a worse dose wider selection, might I suggest Sage Bennet's Fanfic Theatre? Unspeakable Horrors Fun for the whole family or people on your revenge list your roommates. [By the way, most of that stuff is M-rated squick (thank you TVTropes for the definition), and for the record, I don't read fiction with that rating unless it's well-written with lots of gore. Or horrifying like Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, etc.]

I tend not to read bad fanfiction, because it tends to disable the inspirational part of my brain used for creation. And it hurts. Only know about Sage because I was linked to him once. I was disgusted extremely disgusted having my brain cells die wanting to vomit delighted to no end in under a minute.

I'd rather not look, but since it is the internet, somehow I fear it does.

Anyways, I don't feel like have the time to be reading fanfiction, nevermind bad fanfiction. I'd rather keep away from the horrors joys of bad fanfiction rather then reading it, I couldn't imagine the pain joy if I did.

Yes there is bad NiGHTS fanfiction. It exists. No, I will not link to it.

Just go to fanfiction.net, then search NiGHTS into Dreams. Ol' Purps has a respectable number to his name, but I'm sure little-none of them are any good.

Check out this delicious summary:

"All NiGHTS's friends have turned on her and she is running from the police, the only people she can trust are new friends Firefly and Aqua and her twin brother Reala."

That gem is for NiGHTS against the World by Cathleen the NiGHTmaren. Poor children, none of them know that NiGHTS's name is the only thing spelled that way.

And on the broad side of things regarding this thread:
I'm sure there is terrible fan-fic out there (read: the type directed torward mature audiences), but do us all a favor and do not relay it here. And along with that favor, don't bother to mention it either. People will find what they want if they feel the need to pursue it.

In all honesty I think a better challenge would be to find the rare and well hidden good fanfiction, I've seen a lot more bad than good but that doesn't mean there aren't some amazing ones on FFN I'm sure, though that would be for a different thread of course.

Pertaining to this thread, I normally have a hard time reading bad fanfiction even just to laugh at it, but dang some are just ugh! And seriously what is with that NiGHTmare/NiGHTmaren thing? Just from page 1 to 2 of a NiGHTS search and I am seeing it everywhere. I'm assuming most of these fics might have surfaced thanks to JoD bringing NiGHTS back when it did but there are subtitles in that game right at the bottom of the screen, how are that many people not paying attention or even caring? That's probably the biggest problem with some of these bad fics, they just don't care that much and I think that's one of the things that get's me the most.

Rule number one of writing fanfics should be that if you're going to write it- know the source material inside and out. Know it, love it, live it and then if you really feel it....write it!

How come badfic gets so many reviews on ff.net and I never get any?
This fic appears to be an oddity as the reviews are all by the same person who is the author's friend. But it raises the question of why badfic writers have loyal ff.net friends and I don't, no matter how much I mutually review fics. I've never had any work go above double figures in reviews, even when I deliberately tried writing something in a more popular fandom than usual, because I suspected my fandoms were a bit obscure.
... At least it reassures me that I don't write badfic. I'm no literary genius either, but I don't think my work quite qualifies as badfic.
