NiD in 3D could be awesome; the Mare course with the rings and such is in the foreground, and the dreamscape recedes into the distance.

I think they should port it as normal for the main consoles and then maybe perhaps make a nice little spin-off version for the 3DS. Taking NiGHTS to the 3DS entirely would mean every NiGHTS fan now has to buy another system just to play the game. And if NiGHTS does get a port it's going to need all the sales it can get to show SEGA it was not a waste of time, people can't just up and buy a new console every five minutes. Also, remember how we all had to buys Wii's for Journey of Dreams? Wouldn't be good if we all had to do it again for a port.

I wonder what Sega's current plans are for the 3DS? I don't recall hearing about anything yet.

Nice one LUCiD, I would only say the red text is hard to read against the banner graphic, maybe try yellow?
thank you, and i'll change it to yellow later.

Hm.. still a bit too busy; let's take a lesson from subtitles, a black stroke around the text should fix it. Or otherwise reduce the opacity of the banner graphic.
ok *goes back to work*

My my. We're making some good ground with this campaign. Any minute now i'll smell a port land on the community doorstep!

Sega has no excuse at this point. I can be done from the PS2 version, tthere's DEFINATELY demand, all the have to do is talk with Microsoft, Sony, and maybe Nintendo if something can be arranged. So, what with RubyEclipse (SEGA USA Community Team Manager) slyly name dropping our campaign into this weeks SEGA's Free Stuff Friday competition, as well as TRiPPY linking to the campaign in one of SEGA's FaceBook updates via the comment section, we are now over 2150 votes by having another surge of voters.

I'd guess that it's because anyone can click a button, but you have to have a Facebook account to "like" things. Plus, having things all in one counter is more organized, so the numbers look bigger at a quick glance.I just noticed something missing from nid15.com, no Facebook "LIKE" button which 99% of the web seems to have these days. Surely that would help spread the word?

That being said, there are already a few different NiGHTS related pages on FaceBook where the news of this campaign has been posted so people are aware this is happening. If they are not then i guess this news really is flying over their heads, lol.

So, what's happening this weekend?
Well, a certain blue hedgehog (forgot the buggers name now) is having a convention that of which me and TRiPPY will be attending. We have made some really REALLY cool NiD15 related leaflets that will be going in to the con bags, it has a nice mini comic strip that TRiP drew that WINS, lol. We'll post it up here after the con is over so you can see what it looks like.
There are estimated near on 800 people potentialy trying to come to this years convention so if we can get their support too then it'll be a nice booster to that counter.

What are people's thoughts about the inclusion of a two-player mode (NiGHTS vs. Reala)? I used to play that mode years ago, when I could still convince friends that playing Saturn could be fun, but honestly it was not that big a draw. I'm pretty sure the PS2 version doesn't have it. Yet in the name of completeness, it might be nice...

It wasn't easy, but I colored it. Enjoy!
As for two player mode, tthe original was fine, but I like JoD's racing a lot more. Maybe they could apply that to a NiD port?

Other super plusses to a port:
Leaderboards
Online 2P NiGHTS vs Reala the real way (I forgot about how the PS2 version doesn't have it)
Save files that won't go bye bye (though there is this feature on the PS2 port)
Ideally, Christmas NiGHTS would be downloadable as well, if not part of the NiD package.
Sure wish I could go to Summer of Sonic.

On top of that, Okunari, the guy in charge of handling ports, has also expressed his desire to port NiGHTS to consoles around the world, though he has also stated that he don't think it will be this year.
I'm still honestly finding new people on twitter every other day just through word searches who have recently been tweeting about NiGHTS yet really didn't know this campaign was currently running.
In terms of votes, this is no way near over because we could quadruple this figure if SEGA would just openly ask everyone if they would like a NiGHTS port. But of course, SEGA can't so we have to do things the hard way.
I do feel this petition will pay off somewhere down the line. It won't be for NiGHTS 15th though, which is a shame but what are ya gonna do.

I wonder if we could ask Sega permission to ad the campaign on some of their bigger pages on the net. When I see 800,000+ people who are fans of Sonic's Facebook page, I wonder how many of those might be NiGHTS fans who haven't heard about the push yet.

Yeah, seriously. I wonder that too. The thing with fans of NiGHTS is they're all so spread out all over the place. Since NiGHTS was such a cult game back in the day the people who experienced it have gone on to different things but if they only knew this petition was happening then i'm sure they would support it.When I see 800,000+ people who are fans of Sonic's Facebook page, I wonder how many of those might be NiGHTS fans who haven't heard about the push yet.
For example, i love Streets of Rage. I'm not part of any Streets of Rage fanbase or forum community yet when i heard about a recent petition of fans asking SEGA to make a 4th title in the series i instantly supported it. Because i don't hang around those communities i didn't know that petition was running but as soon as it caught my ear i signed up to it.
As i said, it's the same thing with NiGHTS' fans. They just need to be made aware this petition is happening.

It helps to have friends in high places.NiD15 was featured on Sega of Europe's blog, along with Lucid Dreaming. And that blog post was linked to from both the official Sega and Sonic Facebook pages.

A wise person once said, "If you want something really bad, act as though you already have it" or something along those lines. This is the very definition of wishful thinking and there's nothing wrong with it at all if you ignore the fact that a few people are actually going to believe this lie.(No, it only jumped about 50 votes.)
