I may live in America, But I'm still wondering why in the heck it's going to take them AN ENTIRE MONTH to bring it to England...

Sadly, it's because you live in Europe and as many know, Europe is always getting the short end of the stick when it comes to video games. It sucks but that's how these companies keep doing things and it doesn't look like they're going to stop anytime soon.

So I got lucky and ended up getting this game today. I've been playing it for maybe an hour or so but I'm afraid that the hype was off. Seriously, people kept going, "Oh this game is going to be great." I just don't agree. You wanna know why?
Because this game isn't great. IT'S F*****G AMAZING! It literally blows you the hell away! You can literally feel the polish just oozing off onto your eyeballs until you're blind. I just got finished playing Starlight Carnival Act 1 and this act in particular left my mouth wide open and I could actually feel tears of astonishment rising up just waiting to come flowing out of my sockets.

Stupid Toys R Us near me fails.. I was planning to go to Gamestop in the city to use the $5 coupon Sega gave us, but TRU is having a buy one get one 40% off this week.. but they didn't get the game in yet, maybe later today, and they don't have Uncharted 2 GOTY, which is the game on my backlog I would have picked up with it since it's pricier than the other games on my backlog. Hm..

Otherwise at least Colors is getting a lot of decent reviews, some annoyingly negative ones.

Got Colors today, but still have yet to actually play it. DAMN YOU, CHEMISTRY AND YOUR REQUIRED STUDYING.

When I went into Gamestop, the guys working there made we wear the free hat while walking out. I would have without being told if it wasn't raining. :(

Allrighty, just got back from an adventurous bike ride to and from Toys R Us, braving heavy wind, and I now have Colors, and just decided to freakin' get LittleBigPlanet. Woo, will now recover and start up the game.

Thoughts:
For the first time, I feel like I'll be missing out on a bunch of stuff if I switch to JP voices. I'm actually leaving on English. Good job guys. I'm glad you can easily rewatch cinematics though, to see immediate comparison. I'll have to check how the voicechip jokes come across in JP. Wonder what happens there.

So I see 100 rings doesn't 1Up in Colors.. think I heard that about SU Wii..

Crap, in my excitement I forgot to wear my hat! I'll have to fix that later.

Some acts indeed feel too short.. rather have fewer, more substantial acts than a bunch of short ones.

Aquarium Park was like a revelation, being able to go underwater.. this is correcting Unleashed's setbacks perfectly. Though indeed the infinite jump takes away some of the classic risk of being underwater. It's practically like Sonic can swim now. I guess the areas between platforms are just a lot larger to compensate.

Plus using the Spike Wisp's spin dash.. made me so happy.. Sonic needs his Spin Dash back in the next game. There's no good reason not to. And I don't wanna hear any boost related excuses. One of the only things missing that he needs back is his regular rolling spin. It's just weird when he can't.

It's so awesome that Sonic has his old 'get air' sound (why didn't they add a drowning noise though?). It's a bit funny though since originally that was pretty much the only thing he ever 'said', but now he has a regular voice so hearing that noise in context now is a bit amusing.

Also I like how the boxart is metallic.

Is there an Ecco reference in this game?

I dunno if anyone else has noticed this, but in Aquarium Park, when you hitch a group of fish (love the chord sound effect btw), they supply you with air. Ecco uses fish in a similar manner, right? He eats fish to replenish energy, but I seem to recall something about grouping fish too (it's been years since I played a 2D Ecco game). It'd be interesting if Sonic Team knowingly referenced Ecco in Colors. I mean, from where to where does a school of fish protect Sonic from drowning..?

Not sure what to think about the award nomination. I mean I am glad but on the other hand, I used to never agree with IGN.

Then there is the fact that I don't hear anyone talking about this game or Sonic 4. What happened? Everyone was over hyped about both games but once they come out, I hear very little. Though there was a lot more responses for Sonic colors over 4 at least.

I blame 4 being downloadable, so you can't really get a feel of the game as a whole. And as for Colors, I have no idea...

This game is gold.
best Sonic 3D game by a long shot and that includes Adventure and Adventure 2 battle.
