Jof, when we played it at Summer of Sonic is it as good as i remember it being or is it BETTER! XD I have to wait until i get home from work to play. No doubt TRiPPY's already playing it before i get in, lol.
Definately better. Looks shinier, you can actually hear the music (that wasn't the SoS demos fault though ) and it has NiGHTS as the Flagman! Shame that's the only multiplayer in the demo is 2-player local. Guess we'll have to wait till the actual game to race again!

Must make new topic!
----------
Edit: Right how i feel so far after playing it twice. I'm really surprised I can control it. I know that sounds dumb but the reason i didn't play it at SoS is because I usualy oversteer on everything else and end up getting stuck on everything. This game handles so smoothly like playing Wipeout, it's like gliiiiiide. So I'm happy about that.
Drifting makes more sense compared to most racing games. It seems to be a little harder to guide the car while drifting but drifting always eludes me so I'll get DiGi to teach me it when he gets home, lol. The controls are really easy to learn and the weaponry plentiful. There is some kind of inane glee about shooting a rocket at Shadows ass as he drives past emoing. It's the kinda game that makes you get all *GNAWWWWW* when trying to overtake people and hit them with stuff, it's hilariously funny. I can't wait to beat up DiGi zahaha.
The level available to play is beaaautiful. It's so colorful and the kind of thing you wish you weren't against a clock at times so you can just explore it and all the little details put in. Like i said before a lot of kart games suffer from detailed karts with sub par level effort but this is equal and everything blends very nicely together.
... it's so surreal to hear Amigo and Ryo mentioned in the same few seconds.
Which leads me on to the announcer. HILARITY. After you ignore the first impluse of 'shut up' his campy humor really makes you laugh. And it is tremendous amounts of wonderful cheese which will be double the fun when actually racing against friends.
Who else here DIDN'T stop and reverse for NiGHTS on the first go? XD Gzuhhhhhhh *happy flail*
Can't wait to play more on Friday!

SONIC AND SEGA ALL STARS RACING IS f*!*ing AWESOME!!!! I KNEW IT WOULD BE!!! It's totally different from the racers I've played, and trust me, I've played A LOT of racers. NiGHTS made it TOTALLY FREAKING AWESOME-SAUCE. Racing beside me when I pass the finish line, actually WAITING for me if I'm in last place~! Screw Sonic 4, SEGA, you've got a precious gem in your hands! Make it into a diamond by making NiGHTS DLC!!! ♥
Why didn't anyone tell me Beat was in the game? -w- For now, all you can play as in the demo is Sonic and Banjo and Kazooie, but idc, I just wanted to race as Sonic. XD Omg, the music was beautiful! You can only play in Seaside Hill from Sonic Heroes(eeee! <3) for now(idk really, me and my brother were racking up the SEGA Miles, so maybe that unlocks the other stages) but everything was awesome and beautiful! Seeing all of the racers get out of their cars, monster trucks or whatever and taunt you was hilarious! I've never seen that in racer(the driver might flip you the bird in other racers, but that might be it) before! Idk what they do in Mario Kart, it would be a waste for me to buy it cause I hate Mario and only like certain characters(Bowser, Peach, and Waluigi).
GAH THE ANNOUNCER!!! He's more annoying and worse than the DDR announcer!!! But that makes me love them even more~! And omg did anyone see Shadow basically make love to his bike?!?! XD I swear, I was on a jump and since I really don't know how to use the Xbox controller(used it all of twice in my life. this was the second time, lol!) I wasn't doing any tricks. But Shadow was right next to me, like I said, basically making love to his bike!!! Dear Ra that was hot~ *fan fan* Lol~
ANYWAY~! I absolutely cannot wait for this game to come out!!! I was excited before, but now that I've played the demo, I'm going out of my mind with impatience! I reserved this game for the Wii and DS in December and dear Ra why can't the release date get here already?!?!?! *dies*

It's everything i remember it being from Summer of Sonic but better. It seems even more polished and dare i say it but faster, lol. It just kicks so much ass, i'm so happy to finally see a racing game that pays homage to SEGA. Idiots can call it a copy of Mario Kart but i don't care, they've not been a SEGA fan their entire life waiting for something like this since they can remember.
NiGHTS is so cute, flying after you when you complete a race :3
Playing this demo makes me want NiGHTS as playable even more. I see all the other characters driving around and blasting missiles at eachother and doing tricks and stuff ...i so so SO wish NiGHTS could be doing it too. Seriously, nothing else about this game annoys me. I love the whole thing to bits, i just wish NiGHTS was playable.
I have to admit, on my first few goes i was lagging behind the pack and i say this for anyone else who plays it on their first go and loses - CONTINUE. Seriously, you'll learn the courses in due time and it really becomes amazingly fun. I rarely come below 5th place at all now, most of them being in the top 3.
I really want NiGHTS as dlc. REALLY!

why does the PS3 get it on thursday? why not the same time?
Sony only updates the PSN on Thursdays, so it's not Sumo's fault. Any demo or DLC is always a Thursday thing on PSN.
Man, I wish I was back in my flat playing this game. I only had the chance to play a quick solo game, then a multiplayer match with my g/f before I had to head to my folks house an hour train ride away. Not gonna be back till Wednesday night : (
However, did anyone, upon booting up the game, think for the first few moments that the announcer was the E4 commercial narrator? (UK only US peeps, - but see here -)
Man, that would have been so awesome lol. Sadly, it was not to be.

Hate the announcer though. I really hope you can turn him off in the released version because he will never cease to annoy me. The lines aren't clever or funny and way too verbose and he never...ever...STOPS! He literally hurts my enjoyment just a teeny tiny bit.

You mean kinda like the announcers from Ratchet: Deadlock (srry if i'm wrong, i don't have the demo)Solid demo. Doesn't do anything that would shoot itself in the foot and kill buzz which demos seem to do too often nowadays.

Don't worry man, I'm pretty sure S0L confirmed somewhere that you could indeed turn the announcer off.
I didn't mind him myself lol, but time will tell.

Incidentaly i have hand pain from playing this game so much yesterday. It's really addictive like Outrun. I'm still slightly befuddled that it's a game I don't 100% suck at.

The graphics are very nice and sexy.
NiGHTS as flagperson! WOOT!
The commentator is awesome!
The controls are excellent.
The music is SPOCIOUS.
And holy hell is it fast. Breaking through as Super Sonic (Sonic's All-Star Technique) is SPOCIOUS. The Sonic Heroes' Invincibility Song is SPOCIOUS, but I was really looking forward to hearing Open Your Heart by Crush 40. It went would be more suitable for the moment. And Sonic Adventure 1 and Sonic Adventure 2's Invincibility Track was SPOCIOUS! Still, an overall PERFECT choice for music. This is waaaaaaaaay better than Mario Kart! I hope this get favorable reviews!-

Let's see... Urban Dictionary...
"Another word for something you like, especially with "awesome"."
ANYHOO...
Still waiting for the demo...
My guesses for the PS3 "secret" character...
Jak (From Jak and Daxter)
Ratchet and Clank (From the game with the same name)
That's all I can think of atm...

Ya... I didn't want to step on any toes... Actually, I spent awhile thinking of ways I could make it seem nice/ a simple observation/ without the use of the F-bomb...You neglected to mention the rest...
F-Zero GX was hard... cheating scumbag NPCs...
I hope those All Star Specials aren't something that can easilly boost you up to 1st place with a single use? (assuming that the racers are about as spread out mid-race as usual?)

The All Star moves don't boost you up to first, even in the most difficult setting. There was one race where Billy and Beat got it multiple times yet they still didn't get first.I hope those All Star Specials aren't something that can easilly boost you up to 1st place with a single use? (assuming that the racers are about as spread out mid-race as usual?)

As the for the announcer, I was dreading it, but oh my God that guy is sound. He deserves a medal! It's cool, because my brother usually finds cheesy stuff annoying and he hates it, but he loves him. So do I. That guy needs a Facebook appreciation group!
