Because it's not technically a proper loop-de-loop roller coaster. It's a spinning one, where you sit in a circular shaped vehicle, 2 people facing one way and 2 the other. You spin, and drop, and you bounce against the sides I think. It used to be a ride called Spinball Whizzer, but they're now re-branding it to be a Sonic ride called Sonic Spinball.

Oh, the MOA has one of those! It's fun, one of my fave rides. Though, the bouncing can get uncomfortable sometimes.

I don't blame DiGi for being frightened of roller coasters. I hate them too. You'll never catch me on one. Still sounds like a fun trip though.

Lol, I just remembered that the theme song for Alton Towers is part of the theme song for The Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog XD 'In the Hall of the Mountain King' FTW!

This sounds incredible, and I also vote for lots of pictures and video.

I used to be terrified of big roller-coasters when I was small -- especially the ones that flipped you upside-down really high in the air. It wasn't because I was afraid of heights, speed, or safety... it's more like being uncomfortable with the lack of control you have over the situation. I had my best friend drag me on all the ones that made me nervous to get rid of that, and now I love it.

I advise you take some sort of painkiller and some water with you if it's going to be an all-day thing -- after a day of having your brain bouncing around in your skull, you're going to have a killer headache. I know I did.

My gosh, that looks so fun! I'm gettin an itch for roller-coaster riding. But there's a blizzard goin on, so all the parks are probably closed. Man, I wish I lived over there right now. I wanna ride that!

And, on the subject of theme parks, I might advise you to go to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, along with the Universal Orlando Resort, Islands Of Adventure, and Seaworld. They are the GREATEST theme parks ever invented, and if you think Alton Towers is good, my God you've got a surprise coming. I'll give a few examples:

Dinosaur (Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park) (This one has the lights on, when usually, it's kind of in the dark)

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster - Starring Aerosmith (Disney's Hollywood Studios) (Sorry it's a bit dark)

The Incredible Hulk Coaster (Islands Of Adventure) (one of the best rides I've ever been on)

Splash Mountain (Magic Kingdom - Walt Disney World)

(One of the best flume rides ever!)

To daru: SPLASH MOUNTAIN FTW! Awesome music, fun characters, and a finale (both the drop and the Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah) that is exhilarating and fulfilling.

I'm all for POV video and pictures of DiGi here. Sounds funny. I think it would be awesome if a mini podcast was recorded while riding. "So we're here on Sonic Spinball and we are the first to do so. Okay we're going up a hill an~ OH MY GOD OH MY GOD... OH MY GOD!" (DiGi in background screaming like girl).

I'm happy for you guys. You finally are getting the recognition you deserve for the work and dedication you have given to NiGHTS.

I have to say that from what I've seen on Facebook it looks SO FREAKING AWESOME. Way cooler than I would have expected.
The Sonic hotel room is pretty much torn straight from my 12-year old brain.

Yeah we had a great time OvO. Trying to sit myself down and condense it all into one journal thing is HARD lol. It was pretty much brain overload the entire time we were there. Surreal, exciting and at moments hilarious. Getting all my photos in order and stuff.

I'd probably die on that coaster. Me + Wild Mice = Excessive screaming. One at Disneyland had me yelling, "We're gonna die!"...on the straight parts. Why yes, I AM a whimp.

I don't know if Bibles in hotels are as ubiquitous in the UK as they are in the US, but it would be pretty fantastic if, instead of a Bible, the Sonic room had a bound collection of Sonic the Comic.
