-I personally prefer the iNTO Dreams and CHRiSTMAS NiGHTS design. Looked way cooler, and more majestic. Journey Of Dreams' is SPOCIOUS as well. Of course, all are SPOCIOUS.-

I'll doubtlessly be stoned for this, but I like the JoD design. NiGHTS is a very light-hearted, flamboyant character, and JoD relects this. The NiD design is good, but those giant buttons make him look like Mickey Mouse's weird cousin.

The two design are both great but I like the JOD outfit more. Just not the orange/yellow ruffle.

The only things I could think of for improvement are:
Collar- I like the NiD one more, It seems more Jester like.
Eyes- I like them, but the Pupils look more like Lizard eyes than NiD's Cat eyes.
Bum- Not as tight as Nid's.

That's about it.

I'm voting for NiD because it's what I'm most used to. JoD is a good design but when I think of NiGHTS, I default to NiD.

Also I like the crazy neck circle thing.

Never make a cosplay or you'll hate it. That "neck brace o' torture" is not fun.

It's a hard choice. I like his figure in NiD, y'know, that graceful back arch. I wish JoD's didn't hide it so much. But...I still choose JoD. I'm more used to it. Even in my dreams, he usually shows up with a JoD-ish collar and gloves. Plus, the designs on his arms and legs are pretty.

I can't decide, because I like parts of both of them. I like the NiD one, because I too like the ringy-neck thingy more than the rufflely thing, and the red diamond sticks out more on the NiD style more than the JoD. It's also the NiGHTS I knew first. On the other hand, I like JoD NiGHTS because of the gloves and even though it's a little "busy", overall it's pretty. Oh, and the eyes. They seem more... hypnotic.

EDIT: I actually did vote now. I chose NiD.

I voted into Dreams but i like the JoD costume too. To be fair i like and dislike bits of each design. I should draw a hybrid of the best bits of each costume But here's what i like and dislike about the JoD costume-

JoD dont likes (costume):
His crystal looks like a big bling medalion now rather than part of him.
orange is a really bad color choice for his neck ruff. If it had been yellow or white it would have looked better.
the blue crystals on his collar clash badly. If they'd been silver/white it would blend better.
His feet look really round and fat
He really doesn't need 3 sets of stars on his waistcoat. He was originaly the same pip rank as Reala. It looks cluttered.
JoD (model) dont likes:
His face is MASSIVE... though this could be because of the change in his collar
I really dislike NiGHTS' eyes because they made his pupil look weird. He looks like he has starey fish eyes now rather than pretty cat/demon eyes. Probably because it's not black. Also i wish they'd NOT paint the light speck on his eye as it makes any light sourcing look fake when it's dark. They should have made his eyes have a gloss texture instead of relying on paint.
His eyelashes are too thick near the inner part.
His waistcoat trim would look better as gold rather than plastic yellow.

I like the embroidery patterning on NiGHTS though i can't help but feel it looks slapped on his thighs, it would look better connecting to something design wise. On his arms it looks great.
At first i hated them but I've since grown to love the gloves (makes cosplay a whole lot easier too lol)
I like the fact his waistcoat is 2tone now as a lot of fans would argue about the color being either red or pink for years. Stops bickering lol.
I love the epaulets XD
I like the gloss texturing in the psd files to show fabric difference, its a shame the wii didn't show it.

My opinion is very simple. JoD NiGHTS is very pretty and sparkly, like, REALLY pretty, but I like the general look of NiD better. NiGHTS NiD just looks friendlier and mentor-ly to me, as well as more animal-like. Not to mention it's much easier to draw, and, well... Dat ass XD Backside jokes will never get old. JoD NiGHTS looks a little too intimidating, while not pulling off 'Nightmarish', which goes against the general idea of the character.

Basically I like the two outfits, but I still prefer that of NID, it is more masculine, I will regret it as they JOD him put white gloves, it's a pity he had very beautiful hands.
the colors are matched to the character I found more clean ^^

I used to love the weird scarf-collar that the NiD costume had and when i saw JoD's design had opted for a waist-coat collar thing i instantly disliked it. NiGHTS' head did not seem like it was meant to be on that body, it looked really off.
But, after seeing fanart of the JoD outfit i've grown to like it.

Personaly, i feel that it's down to the artist drawing it. I really don't like the official 3D art for JoD NiGHTS other than a few pieces here and there. Whoever drew the 3D JoD pictures made NiGHTS look too off, from eyelashes to the ruffle colour.

However, since i seen JoD fanart i've grown to like the JoD outfit much more than the original NiD one. It's true, the JoD costume seems to captures NiGHTS' elegant side more than NiD's outfit.

In truth, when it comes down to official art the NiD one wins. But the second fans get to drawing the JoD one i'm all in love with it.

If they use the JoD costume again i really hope they fix up some of those issues with it. The JoD design has such a nice feel to it, if only they could draw it better than the fans, lol XD

This is easy for me I without any hesitation can say I prefer the JoD outfit. Sure there are a few things here and there that seem off but on the whole it just strikes me as more refined and complete design than the original. Also I'm a sucker for the waistcoat/cravat combo.

The only real problem I have with it is a few too many colors. In my opinion if an oufit starts having more than four colors it often starts looking too busy.

I love the JoD costume. I've been saying for years that SEGA is full of detail hoars(backgrounds and such), so why can't their characters reflect it? XD

I'm not that big of a fan of the NiD design. To me, it had always looked like something was missing. That big huge collar made NiGHTS' and Reala's heads look to small to the rest of their bodies(Jackle was okay cause he doesn't have a head XD ). The new JoD designs make them look more...jestery to me. Well, for Reala, more evil-clownlike-jestery, but we're not talking about him right now. ;D

That, and JoD NiGHTS is freaking beautiful. His eyes always draw me in. *-*

Hmm...I'd have to say that it's a near tie for me, but I'm leaning a bit more towards JoD. NiD always looked a bit cartoonishly weird.

EDIT: And is it just me, or are the shades of his face and hands completely different?! (judging the art of NiD above)

- which raises a good point, in NiD NiGHTS was a lot darker in skin tone compared to the dreamers. In JoD he's quite pale skinned.

I will also state I love NiD's official art far above any of JoD's NiGHTS art (I do like the new pic of NiGHTS playing the flute with his eyes closed, but they ruined it by messing up his eyelashes on his right side), I hate how they tweaked his facial construction; his mouth is in the wrong place, and his eyes have lost that partially closed thing that gave him mystique. But we're strictly talking outfits here.. JoD's has more to play with, the new vest is like actual clothing rather than the 'pasted on' look of his original (again, the choice is clear for cosplayers), though I also agree, they threw in some new colors there kind of randomly.. I like them though, but maybe they didn't have to add so much. I still don't dig the gloves, really, white gloves are so redundant with well known characters, and NiGHTS dualizes, so to not have gloves kinda lends that 'closeness' to the dreamer, if you will.

I do believe the blue diamonds on JoD were supposed to help tie in his eyes a bit more, since they're not purple anymore, but a rather snazzy shade of cobalt blue. Not exactly necessary (I always leave them off along with the tortuously delicate embroidery and it looks just fine), but still. And the orange is a bridge color between red and yellow, not to mention yellow would've blended into the edges too much.

It seemed to depend on the lighting. There were some official arts that showed his eyes being blue, and others had them tinted purple. Real cats' eyes often change color depending on the lighting and angle, so I guess they were trying to do the same for NiGHTS.
