Funny enough, I didn't play that part...probably more than a dozen times. I have a slight photographic memory when it comes to songs and such. Plus I haven't played Part 2 in about a month or so.

I could recite some dialogue from Spyro 2 if you want. :P (I'm a dork. XP lol) Seriously though, I only need a scene to play a dozen times max and I could potentially recall most of it. (Maybe two years after Paper Mario came out on the N64, I knew the game inside and out save for precise dialogue. ...But that's a walking strategy guide example.)

But now the
Spoiler
is stuck in my head (love it, but kept getting a guitar part wrong, the same one every single time with three stars...yes I suck). But now it's onto the last report which keeps tripping me up with it's timing. I get to Purge and the whole
Spoiler
screws me over as well as the introductions of protagonist to villain. I'll put it away and get back to Minish Cap maybe.

...

Just one more try. :)

Oh...and the last part in Report 4...couldn't help but keep my tone with Ulala's.

Edit: Apparently one last try and a little venting was all I needed. Made it past Purge and the credits are a-rollin'. ^__^ After I got at least two of those...points. Heh.

So I've been playing Dead Rising for Xbox 360; my first disc-based game for the console. It's loads of fun, but let me tell you... getting a bad ending after fulfilling all the requirements the game tells you about is LAME.

Oh my gawd osu! No, it's not some kind of new fangled gibberish. It's a game where... Well... There's a sample of gameplay on the site. Basically you click to the beat (or play in "Catch the Beat" or Taiko-like gameplay). Click the button, keep the beat with sliders and spinners... And there's a NiGHTS beatmap. :P So freaking awesome. As well, there are some Space Channel 5 beatmaps (had to search and find a few in the forums that weren't approved yet), Samba de Amigo, anime songs, and tracks from all sorts of artists. It's pretty good and once you get into it, you'll find that time has flown by very quickly.

This game is why I haven't gone to sleep yet. @_@

Edit: Interesting. If you register over at the freeware's site then play osu! while connected to the Internet, your rank and "experience" is saved on your account, making it virtually possible to play anywhere (as long as a computer has osu! installed).

Also logged on the oku! account: Most recently played beatmaps within 24 hours, Most Played Beatmaps (Portal's Still Alive, thank you), and Achievements (yes, you read right). Among the usual stuff like score, rank, points, etc.

I...really enjoy this thing. So freaking addictive.

You bet it is and it just so happens to be the prequel to "The Power Won't Turn On" which is a spiritual successor to "I'll Come Back To This Tomorrow."

Sounds remarkably similar to 2009's "Take Apart the Toaster NES". The sequel, "Put the NES Back Together", is stuck in development hell.
Anyway, played Mega Bomberman for the Sega Genesis today.

Right now, I'm playing Fragile Dreams: Farewell to the Ruins of the Moon (or just Fragile) for the Wii. I'm not really sure how to describe it since I'm still in the early portions of the game so I'll review it later.

Earlier though, I finished Trauma Team, a spin-off sequel to the Trauma Center series. Unlike the other games, the player is supposed to play as 6 different doctors who each have a specific storyline and specialty. After the individual stories are completed, all of the doctors then take part in the final story where they have to stop a seemingly incurable epidemic that's spreading across the country.

I enjoyed all of the doctor's paths with the exception of endoscopy, which has been confirmed as having the worst controls in the game. The game was pretty short in comparison to its predecessors and is kind of too easy (that is until you get the specialist difficulty). Also, I found it funny that Atlus told a half truth on the entire super-virus thing.

Deathsmiles on Xbox 360. This is 100% my kind of game. Hardcore bullet-hell action, spooky horror themed monsters, moe gothic lolita character designs. Bundled with soundtrack and faceplate. I LOVE IT! While I'm sure it won't be a hit per se, I'm hoping it's successful enough for more Cave shooters to get US releases. Because this is what I want when I play a shooter! None of that fancy-pants "three dimensional/first-person" stuff to worry about!

I've also been playing Dragon Quest IV for Nintendo DS. I'm in chapter 3 and It's a pretty excellent game thus far. Although it's an odd feeling how chapters 1-4 are really all prologue for when the game actually starts.

Transformers: War for Cybertron. On my new PS3. :3 I am happy. I absolutely love the detail that went into this game! Maybe it's because I haven't played the right games, but this one is more immersive than most other games I've played. I mean, it just sucked me in. I was like, "Woah, wow, the hologram is there, and it's talking, without a cut-off for a cutscene or anything. It's just there and it talks." That made me happy, that things went on in the actual game rather than just in cutscenes. I like how it doesn't force you through a tutorial. I was able to figure out how to play as I went along from a combination of experimentation and instructions in the pause menu. However, each chapter's taken me over an hour so far, and I feel pretty drained afterwards. I think I'm "out of shape" when it comes to games right now. But I'll be going down to the basement more often now. ^_^

I'm planning on starting Final Fantasy VIII today. It feels like I'm making serious progress with the series! I'm mostly hoping to get to play XI after X but before the servers get shut down (which is very likely to happen at some point after XIV is released).

I'm also determined to get through Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, even though it's kind of not as great as it should be. Hopefully I'll be able to find people online willing to play with my character who will limit them to playing the first two levels?

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: Master Quest :The First, the Last, the Only Hardcore Mission Impossible Part 2: Die Again Tomorrow Forever in a Lake of Antacid and Fire

XD Love how fresh the game feels. Sure, I've come close to dying (more so in the old, overwritten file...OCD made me do it), but the challenge is excellent. :) The dungeons can be outright weird (cows?!) or nonsensical (a spiderweb?) now, but it's fun. I'll be singing a different tune in the Shadow Temple, I bet.

So far, I've been afraid...about three different times. Once in the Great Deku Tree when I realized just how unfamiliar the dungeons were all going to be (especially the Shadow Temple), the second time in Jabu-Jabu's stomach when a certain enemy literally jumped at Link out of nowhere (and had no business in that stomach in the first place), and the third was by two Like Likes that dropped out of the ceiling and started following poor Link around after looking away for a second.

Oh yes. MQ is going to make an excellent time filler for the time being.

I has been nicknamed "OoT: Acid Quest" solely because of the cows growing out of a gaint fish's multicoloured belly. Why, Ninendo? :)
---

Right now I'm playing The House of the Dead: Overkill for Wii. It takes a 70s b-movie approach, with movie posters, "Our Feature Presentation" bumpers, and film scrateches. I must admit that I mainly bought it for the gimmick, but it's fun! It's silly and gory, but that's the point. It's on-rails, which is the only downside for me. I'd love more control.

Random question: Is the Wii blaster add-on worth it?

I just started hard mode on Metroid Other M. This is insane. The enemies are no more powerful than they were before, but it seems that hard mode is more difficult simply because there are no energy or missile power ups the entire game. So it's 99 points of health and 10 measly missiles to survive on through to the end. Holy. Crap.

I read a couple of reviews and people are being unfairly hard on this game; they're almost entirely overlooking what it does really right only because of what it does moderately wrong. The cutscenes aren't as bad or as numerous as they're saying. Still, they are NOT up to par with contemporary games and the ending is just dumb. The game would be better without them, but that's only so apparent because the gameplay itself is so damn good.

Nintendo really challenged Team Ninja when they tasked them with designing a modern 3D action/adventure game with just the Wii Remote, but they succeeded far better than I could have hoped. The cinematic effects, like speed ramping and dynamic camera angles, give the action a weight and tension on par with (surprise) Ninja Gaiden. I'm just really impressed that they were able to pull it off with only a fraction of the buttons used in Gaiden. Sure, the exploration in Other M is just a streamlined Metroid Fusion, but the action is as good as it gets. It's so good it's kind of a revelation: simply that with clever design, you don't need all the buttons of an Xbox 360 controller to make an outstandingly intense action game.

Of course, most folks will just complain about what this game ISN'T and ignore the solid adventure game and amazing action game fluffed with a few pretentious cutscenes.

9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors. Sweet monkey, this game is AWESOME. It's the most addictive visual novel I've never played; I've been playing for several hours a day and I have trouble putting it down. It's so good!

Random question: Is the Wii blaster add-on worth it?

Not really imo. it's just a piece of plastic and unless you want to splurge 10 bucks or so for the slight feel of actually aiming a gun at the zombies, it's not worth it.

Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon. I freaking love this game but mentioning anything that happens after the hotel would be ruining the story. I can say a few things about it though.

- The dogs in this game will unnerve you. From a pack of them to just one that will tear your health bar apart, you will never look at dogs the same again (unless they're puppies).

- There is a reason shounen ai fans love SetoxCrow. Although considering that Crow
Spoiler
doesn't know how to handle interacting with other people, it's understandable why he acts the way he does.

- If you hated Crow (and I know everybody does at some point), then Sai will be playful and annoying at best. At worst she's downright irritating especially when you hear her first lines. (I haven't officially met her in game yet, but her profile in the game manual gives you a feel for how she'll act around you.)

- Those little mementos that you pick up can, and will, make you forget about the fear of facing those creepy creatures just seconds ago. If you're willing to listen to the thoughts of those souls who have long been dead.

- Near the beginning you will curse cats, crickets, and frogs. The noises from the Wii-mote's speaker is supposed to tell you when you're in the vicinity of an enemy. Hearing those animals just makes for paranoia fuel.

- Ever play a Silent Hill game? Now do you want to enter those bathrooms at the beginning?

I can't think up much more to say without going off on a tangent on how creepy the game can be. Although the scenery is gorgeous and even in the observatory, a place you'll wander around for maybe 5 or 8 minutes, or the area above the subway (you're there for less than a minute if you just rush off to the next cutscene; I don't think you ever see that place again) you'll see the effort that went into making the world. Very lovely with an eerie feel. :D
