Probably a while, but if they do, everyone here isn't your typical internet moron. It'd be hard for them to spin a story of how they got the picture that'd be enough to fool any of us, let alone a convincing edit. It's really easy to tell if something's been tampered with. But it'd certainly be fun to see them try, no? XD

First of all, please excuse my poor English.

I'm new here, just for the cause, as you can see. At first I thought that this campaign was a bit senseless since NiGHTS is supposed to be part of the starting roster, as far as he's an important SEGA character. But heck, it seems that Digi and Trippy have their contacts inside SEGA or something like that, and they're freakin' serious, so I think it's appropiate to trust them, and plus, what can I lose if I do that until SEGA or SUMO reveal NiGHTS? Absolutely nothing. So I will participate too in this campaign spreading the word on Spanish websites and forums related to SEGA, hoping that someday SEGA hear us and make NiGHTS in at least by DLC.

I'd like to thank you guys very much for acknowledging the ToeJam & Earl fanbase during this campaign, even though I'm not an "official" representative of the fanbase (I'd have to say the owner of this website should receive that honor, although he seems to do absolutely nothing). Two users from the Official SEGA Forums, FreshFromFunk-O-Tron1992 and that Toejam fella are also major contributors to getting Mr. Greg Johnson to respond to the fans. Oh wait, maybe not Toejam... that guy is too laid back and doesn't know whether he's coming or going, lol. But still, all of us TJ&E fans out there appreciate you for giving us credit for the downloadable content talks.

Lol, i have not even told our own NiD crew members who our sources are. Jof, Zero-Shift and Infractus have been helping entirely on faith in me like the rest of you have. If i won't even tell them i sure as hell ain't telling TSSZ.

Besides, i dropped my two pence on Tristan on that news post. If he's such a fantastic journalist he's got his own sources so he can go ask them for info, can't he. Perhaps he just doesn't like me and wants me in more deep sh!t than i'm currently in hence why he wants me to personaly out my sources so i can get into trouble.

lol One of my IRL "friends" has been making fun of me a bit for supporting this campaign. Ever since I've know him, he's always been calling me a NiGHTS fanboy. You know what though? The hell with him. NiGHTS made my life better when I really needed something to keep me from being down. NiD sure made winters a lot more bearable for me, that's for sure. Besides, I find this campaign to be a lot of fun. I'm gonna keep supporting it even after ASR is released so that NiGHTS keeps getting noise made about him/her.

Let me start with this - DiGi, TRiPPY, I have no reason whatsoever to doubt you. And I will email my support of the DLC character as soon as I can either get my head together, sort out my real-life right now, or hopefully a bit of both. I love NiGHTS as deeply as everyone else here and to see him in this game would be fabulous and well-deserved! We've worked too hard to get the spotlight back on NiGHTS to slough off now!

But I will also say that the mere THOUGHT of all that merch being burned - especially Claris - has set a solidly heavy lead rock into my poor gut. I know it isn't gonna happen, but I just... my heart's breaking about it okay? My sister was talking to Darkspeeds and he mentioned this bet, and I didn't believe him really until I saw the video, and now I'm honestly fighting tears. I wish you hadn't played that hand. I do believe you but I wish it wasn't said. I've seen enough of our treasures here at home get burned for one reason or another, I don't even want to THINK of NiGHTS being added to that group.

Yes. It wouldn't be the end of the world, and I'm sure DiGi and TRiPPY would find another hobby and think of this as a reawakening. But that would have to mean the game would be delayed.

I know how DiGi and TRiPPY hold a museum of NiGHTS merchandise and love to share it with the fans. However, do you honestly think there will be a delay to include NiGHTS as a playable character? This is SEGA we are talking about, after all. They'd want to go the cheap route and make us pay for stuff that should have already been in the game, lol.

It won't happen.

ASR is too far in development to suddenly put NiGHTS in as a playable character. It would mean having to build NiGHTS, build his vehicle, animate everything that NiGHTS would do in the game like his taunts, mid air tricks, attack animations, winning animation etc. They would be unable to get NiGHTS in as a playable character. And that's why i chose my words very carefully when making this bet because i know NiGHTS is not going to be 'playable'. If i had said "NiGHTS is not in the game" for all i know this campaign might prompt a NiGHTS cameo or something and then i'd be screwed, lol.
What i know is NiGHTS is not a playable character in ASR and SEGA's choice to not have him partake in the game like all the other SEGA characters annoyed me to no end.

There will be no playable NiGHTS in ASR unless we get SEGA to make that DLC.

The ONLY way NiGHTS would be playable in the main retail copy of the game is if SEGA delayed the game to put him in as a racer ...and that would cost a lot of money and time and i highly doubt SEGA have such a vendetta against me as to purposefuly put NiGHTS back into the game as a playable character just so they can witness me burn my stuff.

There will be no burning of merch. It was a reinforcement of my word that i know what i do because i know NiGHTS is not playable.
With that, i hope SEGA are going to see where they went wrong with their decision, see the support that the character has and get that DLC made for him.

And I'd just like to add, to everyone upset at us for suggesting we're gonna burn our stuff- Trust us- sometimes you have to do crazy things to get people to sit up and take notice and change. Otherwise you sit about in quiet little circles saying nice things and piddling around wishing you could make a difference but not doing anything but waiting for someone else to. Kindness doesn't go very far in the gaming industry. We tried the 'nice' approach with our project folders back in 07 and that didn't get us anywhere.
This needed some shock tactic factor and if you think for a second i would ever try to intentionaly upset or make enemies of our own fanbase you've got me very wrong. I would never do that unless i 100% knew i had to in order to help NiGHTS in some way. At the end of the day NiGHTS is worth a million collections of his merch to me. I believe it was Dreams who said this herself actually. It was one of the reasons i felt comfortable enough to wager everything i own. Im doing this for -entirely- unselfish reasons, not looking for any sort of personal glory at all. I'm doing this to keep NiGHTS alive.

Nothing is going to be burnt, therefore there is nothing to be upset about. I'm not upset about the merch (A lot of people think I'm crying in the video), if I'm upset about anything it's that we have been overlooked and that it had to come to this in the first place. Personaly i feel completely satisfied after doing that video. It's an odd feeling I'm not sure many of you will experience unless you have to fight for something you believe in and go all the way fearless. It feels kinda peaceful, because I know i done the right thing.

There's absolutely no chance of NiGHTS being shoved in the game as a fully playable character at this point in time. The game is due out next year.

The way i see it- a lot more people now have got off their lazy 'fan' asses and made an effort to contact SEGA now that they know how serious we are. Also i imagine people who dont like us have contacted SEGA to put NiGHTS in specificaly just to see us burn our stuff. Eitherway it's good by me. It's all demand for NiGHTS.

A lot of people seem to have trouble understanding this...there's only about 3 months till the game is on the shelves guy's. That time is spent on polishing and last-minute touch ups. NiGHTS isn't going to be in it.

That's why we've gotta fight for DLC! =O

And as I've said before, you are making downloadable content a sure-thing with this campaign. It will allow us to download NiGHTS and ToeJam & Earl to play as in Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing, and actually make it an All-Stars experience.

Yup, i can't see SEGA seeing support for DLC being a bad thing. It's more money for them and extra brand promotion.

That and sometimes people don't realise how much they take something they love for granted until it is threatened in some way or another. Otherwise people just hum and haw and say they're 'trying' when the reality is that they mention it once or twice then go back to doing whatever it was before. This needs a lot of effort and I can speak for DiGi and me when i say we have been losing a lot of sleep over this and busting our asses daily.
I'd like to think other fans were trying as hard as we are too. So if i have to use horrible tactics to motivate people then so be it, because we shouldn't have to argue with our own community in the first place. This was all to prove how true we are to our word that NiGHTS is not playable in the main game. The same as saying 'i swear on my life' or 'I bet my right leg on that'. You're not gonna say it if theres a chance you can lose.

I wish we could reach more places.. one editor at 1Up, James Mielke seems to have moved on.. he was the primary NiGHTS rep there. I could try GamePro.. even though they neglected to give JoD much coverage at all they still know NiGHTS and regretted their lack when I called them out on it.

It's tough though, because since the info is on the down low, that probably makes it hard to get around. Honestly though if Sega hasn't taken notice of this campaign by now they must have their blinders on. NiGHTS oughtta be a free DLC (with the description 'sorry about that'), it's total bullsh!t for them to neglect him like this.

On another note, cameo characters should only be those who would not be viable as playables (Pians, Wizeman, Gillwing, Perfect Chaos, Chao, etc.)

(Actually on the other hand a Chao racer would be adorable, lol)

I once sent him a message when he was doing the coverage on NiGHTS leading up to JoD's release at 1-UP. I think he knows we're here but there's no direct contact between us and him.

If someone gets me details i'll contact him myself. I'd look but i'm at work right now and i don't have the time to hunt the guy down. Any help is appreciated.

I know he was a bit of a NiGHTS fan during the whole JoD build up and he showcased a lot of stuff during that week that made fans smile so if there is a journalist i should be speaking to it's him.
