Really though, why come to this place for suggestions when you don't intend to include the character this site is about in the game? Unless Sega did some meddling and told Sumo not to include NiGHTS as a playable character for some reason, but even I don't think that low of Sega. Both Sega and Sumo obviously know this community exists. They have come here for suggestions. Why pretend otherwise?

ok, for the 100th time. Me, TRiPPY and Jof went to Summer of Sonic 2009 where Sumo Digital were also there allowing people to have a go on ASR.
A week before the event we did a small flood of emails directed at Sumo asking for NiGHTS as we had not seen him yet. S0L replied to us, was very light-hearted about the whole thing and we apologised for making trouble.

When we went to Summer of Sonic 09 we personaly introduced ourselves to Sumo Digital, who recognised us as "those guys who email bombed us - the NiGHTS fans"
For the rest of the convention we played on the whole thing as a joke, mentioning NiGHTS at any given opportunity and S0L played along with us because he's a genuinely friendly chap.

So, for the last time, because i really don't want to have to say this again as this news is extremely old now, Sumo Digital were merely joking around with us at SoS 09 due to the email bombing the week prior.

Anything NiGHTS related for ASR was spoken on light-hearted terms at SoS and not to be taken seriously. Everybody else online read too much in to it.

Yeah, that jokeyness really did some unintended negative things to the campaign's appearance, didn't it? I mean, between y'all and Sumo Digital, it was all a bit of a misunderstanding that got you all on good terms, enough to joke about stuff. To the rest of the world, it was seen as a leak, to be taken seriously. And no matter how many times it's been explained, people still raise voices who haven't heard the explanation, or who don't believe it.

I'm still wracking my brain as how to help further. The hardest part is doing it without looking like a twat and being taken on a genuine level, as TRiPPY and DiGi and anyone else who's been posting well-know by now.

Well, first thing, I made the absolute longest post on the Sega forums just now showcasing my perspective and my take on everything. If that doesn't convince any mature, sane, intelligent human-being of what we're doing and why, nothing will. And maybe it's just well-written enough to get the attention of people who matter.

Also I am thinking of making a song, but my time is already stretched so thing with other songs that, were I to do it and do it right, I might compromise something else. I'll think of something, and if I can't make a song I'll do some kind of video response somewhere.

I skipped going to the gym so I could come back and keep my eye on it. It was damn long and if I made any mistakes I wanted to correct them as soon as possible. Also, I am feeling lazy and must work on songs.

Attracting ANY attention is our goal at this point, if not to get them to join the cause than to at least say the word "NiGHTS" in response so that google takes notice, no? DiGi and TRiPPY have said it themselves: we're past the point of no return. Now, EVERYTHING is pretty much at stake. So bring on the idiots.

I'm just waiting for my first "tl;dr" response so I can show people how they don't even read what we post and spout words without even knowing what we're talking about. Anyways, back on to the campaign.

If this is true, why omit NiGHTS from the game when they are aware of this place? Was the site really mentioned in the actual Q&A?

They found out about us because we almost fried Sumo's servers with emails. Steve Lycett, the wonderful producer of ASR, had to come and tell us to stop emailing them. He's stayed around a bit, and is really a nice guy.

well, i may as well explain the dealio here, as he's not figured out how to introduce himself in the topic with that exact name! this be my younger brother, who has suddenly decided he likes NiGHTS...? sure changes his tune a lot! regardless, some of you may have to watch what he says, because he sure as hell wont bite his tongue when need be to be polite if he's on any other forums for the campaign. i suppose if he's going to help us, this is a good thing? oh, and russ (because i sure as hell aint callin you no Knight of the Wind!) make sure not to double post in such a manner, i know your laptop's having issues even existing, but still!

I have nothing to go on with this, other than your word, so I choose to trust you. Although the burning everything deal may sound extreme, I'm sure you have your reasons.
I've already told mostly all of my friends about this. I might be a random stranger, a nobody, but you can know that this nobody is supporting you. =P

So, good luck with your campaign, and if you're right, hopefully we'll at least see NiGHTS into DLC. =)

Thanks man, it takes a lot to go out on a limb and trust people you don't know very well, but you're very right, we have our reasons and we wouldn't be doing it otherwise. Don't worry, nothing will burn because we are right Also you have the best avatar ever XD hahaha

Vincent thanks for mailing too! Don't worry about the main game too much, theres no way SEGA are going to shove NiGHTS in at the last minute when it takes so much work and money to do. Just concentrate on worrying about NiGHTS DLC because this is the only way we're going to be able to play as NiGHTS.

NiGHTS means everything to us and a lot to varying degrees of fans. Therefore it is second nature that we fight for what we believe in. This isn't about NiGHTS being in a racing game. It goes further than that.

If NiGHTS is in this game (or will be put in), I hope it's JOD NiGHTS design. That was the game that got me into the series even though it's the most hated one amongst the community ironically lol. (yes I even liked those on foot missions that was the bain of everyones existence back in 2007 hehe )

The way i see it is if NiGHTS has captured you no matter which game you've played and you came to apreciate they essence of what NiGHTS is trying to give the player then it's doing it's job and we're happy to have another fan of his here

Oddly enough, i grew to love NiGHTS' new outfit too. I still love the old one but this one brings a different kind of character to NiGHTS. Anyways, i'm side tracking.

No matter what game you've seen NiGHTS in, if it's brought you here then we are happy to have you.
