Hey, has anyone ever played the Nights Pinball in Sonic Adventure and gotten all the Ideyas? If so, what happens?

Lol, i think a few people have but it's nothing special. I personaly have not but i seem to remember being told it's something boring like 999 rings? The stupid thing is you pretty much get 999 rings by the time you've managed to get all the Ideya anyway.
Someone correct me if i'm wrong, i have not played SA 1 in a very long time XD;;

It's either that or 99 lives.
I had both already so nothing happened for me.

999 rings bonus that's all :[
There was a hoax rumor back in the day that you could unlock NiGHTS and fly about the level freely... there was also a rumor that you could fly about Station square >_>; All untrue.

Was it 999 or 500? XD I remember spending WEEKS getting all of them and I was soooo excited - I thought there'd be like a hidden trailer for the next game or something.
But yes, you earn a crapload of rings. And bragging rights? Cause dagnabbit, it took forever!
Sonic: *passes out from dizziness* @.@

I was wondering actually, the bit when you're flailing around as Sonic going through Spring Valley, is there any sort of LOGICAL steering/controls there? Of is it just a case of button mashing?

I don't understand the question. You can't really control Sonic in Twin Seeds or Spring Valley.

Are you sure you can't control the direction he goes in Spring Valley? It sorta feels like you can because sometimes he completely misses the Ideya Palace o_O

Hmm, there might be... I remember tapping the L and R buttons, and I thought it would either change his direction a veeeeery tiny bit, or just move the camera a tad.
Dangit. I'm gonna hafta play it again to be sure! XD

Yes please do, I have the DC set up in our bedroom but that would require moving ariel cables around e~e
The L+R paddles always seemed to move Sonic closer or further to the Ideya palace before he got sucked out back onto the table down the tunnel.
Actually, here's a challenge! Someone get all the Ideya and RECORD it. I get asked this question so many times and it'd be useful if i could point people to a video.

We need some gameshark hackers in here. Fly mode would be nice. I bet there is no collision detection so we could explore if we could get out of the pinnball area.

I would record if I had the equipment to do so.

Well i kinda have the SA model viewer on my PC. It's not playable but you can look at/zoom through everything as it's laid out in the stage. No textures though. It's all quite creepy XD
It's how i got this image years ago:

perhaps this will work. It is for SA DX on gamecube. Action replay.
Moon Jump (Hold Y) [North America]

6P1T-5509-J0728
AJAG-KJJN-9HXHE
Also, how about SA DX for the computer? Might be easier to hack and/or record video...

Hmm, there's a couple of guys over at Sonic Retro who've made alot of headway recently in hacking the Pc version of SA, making super sonic playable and creating custom levels and whatnot. I can't mind there names but I'll edit this with a link later. Maybye we could contact them about helping out?

...here's a thought ...that will probably amount to nothing but worth bringing up as i'm curious.
TRiP says you can sometimes steer Sonic when he spins through Spring Valley, right? This is infact true as i remember once Sonic just went some random route through the Spring Valley section and i was all like "wtf?" about it as i had never seen him go like that through there before.
So, here's my idea. What happens if you get all the Ideya and then pass through the ideya-capture AND/OR through NiGHTS?
I know you can't technically control Sonic, at least i wouldn't call it 'controlling', but maybe something is supposed to happen with all Ideya?
...this is farfetched of course because it's been a bloody long time since the game has come out and i'm pretty sure if anything was suppose to happen that someone would have got it by now or at least hacked it out from the game.

When you get all the Ideya doesn't it just reset? ... i think... not done it in a while

They just reset (I had like...Went through the Ideya capture/NiGHTS) after you get them all.
I was like "WHAT!? I feel so jipped..."

Oh well. Never mind.
...that really is kinda cheap of Sonic Team really, ain't it? Not just that but the original version of the game, getting all the emblems doesn't do anything either. It's a pointless waste of time.
I bet it was Iizuka's idea.

I've heard about the ideya, but I have no idea how to get it. Twin Seeds is there, too, but I don't know how to get there either.Wait, there are ideya in it O__o I've been playing SA for nearly 10 years just to play that pinball stage and not once have I gotten (or at least noticed i've gotten) ideya. I don't know what triggers them. Perhaps a card combo or a bumper or hole in the board? All I know is I have gotten 3 of them before.

When you make it to the Reala board you can go to Twin Seeds by shooting Sonic into the upper left (Or if you have an AR just use Amy since she can walk everywhere) and if you get an Ideya drop from the Reala board to get to Spring Valley where an Ideya will be added to the Palace there.
I'm not totally sure what triggers you getting an Ideya though, because you can get to Twin Seeds and not get anything. Though maybe you have to get 20 Blue Chip cards...?

Well it took a bit, but this is the best Youtube vid of the stage I could find, and it's kinda crappy quality.. XD; If anyone else finds better, please post!
Anyway, my memory's kinda vague, but this is how getting an Ideya works:
While playing regular pinball, you're gonna be collecting various cards on the table, each showing a character from the NiGHTS game (on the right side of the screen). You have to match at least two cards in a set, and when you do, you'll hear a sort of chime. If you notice, in the top-centre-right part of the board, a doorway will change from brown to blue, with an arrow pointing up to it. That's the pathway to Nightmare! You only have a set amount of time to get up there - I thin kit's a coupla minutes - so get to it!
Once you get up there, the board flips and you'll see an Ideya Capture at the top of the board. This is the tricky part - ricocheting Sonic around the board JUST RIGHT so that he'll actually leap off the board and hit the capture. Doing that, you'll rescue the Ideya, and NiGHTS will take you around Twin Seeds through some rings. And if you're anything like me, you'll be grinning rather stupidly the whole time. 8D
After that, fall down off the Nightmare board, and Sonic will spin his way through Spring Valley to NiGHTS and the Ideya Palace. You'll drop off the Ideya, and begin again on the main board.
Later, rinse, repeat...
And win a crapload of rings for your efforts. |D
I must say, considering how NiGHTS-starved we all were back then, that little glimpse of NiGHTS was fun at least!
EDIT: wahaha Jax pretty much summed it up good! XD Forgive my ramblings..!

Ah nuuuu!! >_< I hate it when codes act up!
Well if it's any help... the best spot I found to launch Sonic is the very tip of the right paddle. Hold it up to stop him, then let him drop, and just as he hits the tip, BAM! It works most of the time for me. :3

Doesn't seem like it...they are just there like the rest of the cards to make you get rings.

I'm using the level/character select codes of course.
Just don't know why my AR isn't making the codes work right now. They worked a couple of months ago.
