I'm so happy right now I find it hard to explain. I just by accident found a tune that I've not heard since 1989/90 but as soon as it started i remembered every single key. (Isn't is weird how the brain works like that!?)
The music starts around 1:55
This was a loading screen on a few games I had for the Commodore 64. Back when games were on cassette tapes and there was a 60% chance it would never load or work. But yeah this tune was EPIC for 8bit music! Most catchy melody ever and so full of memories my head might pop with glee.
I have some very fond memories of the C64. Our rather nasty and now dead stepdad bought me and my little brother it for christmas when we were little kids so we could learn how to COMPUTER PROGRAM! He seriously grounded my 7yr old brother for playing a GAME on it and not programing *lmao*
We would play this tape all the time when he was out. It was like... our REBELLION *lol*
Ocean loader i LOVE YOU ;__________________________;
What is the first tune you can ever remember in a computer game? DOn't give me a massive list. I just want ONE that you remember as a kid as being your first memory. Not what you thought was best.

SESAME STREET. XD
We had a NES, and the first game I remember playing endlessly was Ernie's Magic Show. You had to match shapes and pictures, and every time you got it right, a little bunny would pop out of the hat, clapping oh so happily!
*begins humming the tune off-key, and will find a Youtube clip of it when she gets home* 8D
You could program on a Commodore 64? or not? LOL I can't remember much of that one, that was one of the few we didn't snag... that and the Jaguar, the 32X...
EDIT: BAHAHA it's there for reals! XD It'll probably drive people insane so don't suffer needlessly. And the bunny WAVES from BEHIND the hat, well I'll be darned...

yeah the c64 came with a book on coding. The most we ever done was composed a tune and built an airballoon that we could control across the screen. You had to copy pages and PAGES of code. One mistake and it didn't work XD; I think that's where i got my patience from.

Splash Wave, from OutRun on the Master System. Good god, even today I think it's my favorite 8-bit BGM. It just has that cool square wave sound to it that I think tops most everything else.
And of course, composer otobeya on youtube is my HERO for the following two down-ports from the Saturn to "Master System" style!

I'm gonna be whistling and nerd-raging through my last class now. AWAY!!!
EDIT: OH! Somewhere on one of my old computers, I have a program that plays Splash Wave through the PC speaker! I remember spending DAYS coding it myself in QuickBasic! I'll see if I can find it and record it later tonight!

A computer game? I'd have to say whatever you heard in Oregon Trail. First time I ever touched a computer and it was the main thing we played.

Might sound typical, but... The Mario theme! I'm not even sure how long I knew that tune!

Oh jeezus I can't believe I remember the first tune from a PC game. I guess when your a child things can easily burn into your brain. @_@;
When I was living in the apartments my dad showed my sister an I a game called Mixed Up Mother Goose. We had a little fold out map with slots and everything! We were really obsessed with playing.

Not to exciting for me, but Legend of Zelda on NES was the first game I ever played so the overworld theme is my first game music memory.

The first console I really played was a Genesis.... and since every other game my siblings had scared me (jurassic park, zombies ate my neighbors) I would play Sonic two over and over. And since I sucked, I never really got past the second level. So, 'SE-GA!', the sonic opening theme, and Emerald Hill for me.

Hm, I know that the first games I remember playing are Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and Duck Hunt. But I don't remember being struck by the music in any of them. Even other early games like Super Mario Bros. or one of the Mega Man games, I don't really remember being absorbed by the music.
The first thing I had which could play video games was a Game Gear, which I got around 1993. The first game I got for it was Jurassic Park - I found a poor quality video of the intro and was flooded with nostalgia. It was the first time I was able to really PLAY a game ENTIRELY BY MYSELF rather than with someone else, which is of course a magical experience. But the video quality was so bad it's not worth sharing.
I also have a great fondness for the music from Commander Keen IV and Doom, which I first played at other people's houses.

It is, isn't it? Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars for me. ^^ Bowyer Vs. Mario, Mallow, and Geno.It was the first time I was able to really PLAY a game ENTIRELY BY MYSELF rather than with someone else, which is of course a magical experience.
Hm. You know...actually, going farther back than Oregon Trail...if you count games outside of a PC, Super Mario World was the first game I ever recall hearing. The intro always blared in my room because the volume was always off-kilter on the old TV. So Mario and Yoshi's opening...and I vividly remember running into my closet because Bowser scared me. XD (I wasn't even in Kindergarten at that age...)

I think one of my first video games was Pac-Man, but does that even have music? I'm going to go with the classic Zelda theme, mainly because I can't really remember 100%.

Sonic CD!!! My first game ever!
I always played and (tried to) sing along the theme song "Sonic Boom". I had a great sound system connected to that old PC, it sounded fantastic!
I was 5 years old, and these games made me really queen on learning english, I used to translate the manuals and songs word by word with an old, thick english-spanish dictionary.
Also, when I faced Dr Eggman for the first time in PalmTreePanic Act 3 I was really scared, the horror music blasting trough my speakers and the sound of the legs of the giant robot moving. The robot seemed impossible to beat, he bounced me and had spikes everywhere. When I finally beated him, the robot became crazy, blasted in several explosions, then eggman pitch black escaping from me as I chased with all my strenght, that was it, Sonic fan for life .
Here is the youtube video of that particular scene
I saw the beta design of that same enemy and it was even more "violent", if this one scared me, I can't imagine my reaction at that time if the beta one was in there
Now that I realise that, SONIC CD was the most scary one compared to Sonic 1 & 2, the world became corrupted near the boss battle, and the sounds of the robots and the voice of eggman was really shocking!

Computer game?
Alright, I got a tie for this one, because I'm not sure which was first: the menu theme for Baldur's Gate or the infamous theme of Tristram from Diablo.
...No, really.
As for the first video-game music memory I've got? Chemical Plant Zone, only because Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was the first video game I ever played and I kept on (and still keep on) dying there!

Haha wow Chemical Plant Zone did quite a number, used to give me the chills before I played it alot on the PS3 Sega Genisis collection. Sonic 2 was my first game but Green Hill Zone makes me nostalgic too.
For the PC however I would say Croc:Ledgend of the Gobos or Frogger: He's Back! that music is amazing! Man now I HAVE to link it and enjoy it :3
The music changes for each zone Leaf and Machinery zones
