I've been listening to it since it came out a few hours ago, and have gone through the entire thing in one sitting. I'm glad I got to it early, the traffic must be insane... That said, I now must fall (temporarily) into fangirl mode.

...

My ears are bleeding from sheer awesome.
The amount of effort you all have put into this project is staggering. Thank you all -- thank you very much for this limitless source of inspiration.

I'm off to listen to it again on my MP3 player -- where it will go on repeat. Forever.

This album is such an amazing gift to the community :) I just downloaded it and I'm listening to it for the first time. Hopefully the Canada Post will deliver my copy soon! :o

It's so heart warming to see such positive responses to this album. I was reading a bunch of the comments on twitter and seeing the number of fans tally up on FaceBook. It's been such a long two years and yet it also went by in the blink of an eye, lol.

I think everybody can see why i kept hyping this thing up a lot. Over the two years, every time i heard another work-in-progress i was completely blown away by just how much attention to detail was being put in to each composition. I mean, OverClocked ReMix has been known for some epic stuff before ...but i truly feel that Lucid Dreaming broke some kind of boundaries. I mean, for example, Dies, Nox et Omina, the remix of Wizemans tune. Did you even see that coming? A classical epic opera piece that sounds like it belongs in a MOVIE!! Sephiroth, who? lol

Every musician involved really went to work on this. It was an honour to see it all unfold and become the album you are all listening to today.

I last commented on the artwork but I should probably leave my opinion about the music, especially now that everyone and their mother has the opportunity the hear it. I've been listening to both albums almost every second I'm near my CD player. It's all so addictive and I swear that listening to it at nights helps me dream easier.

I think my most favorite track, right now at least, is "Beyond the Dream." It can really hypnotize you. In a way, it reminds of me of Pink Floyd.

Pink Floyd? I was kinda thinking it had a Joe Satriani sound, lol.. but there are elements of the song that remind me a bit of songs from PF's Momentary Lapse of Reason album.

Anyway. Already got my physical copy, but just to spite Verizon's 'unlimited data' plan ..I torrented the full onto my phone. It makes up for no longer having the TV at work.

I'm still amazed at just how much detail actually did go into this project. It's incredible. Also- I'm glad I can finally share it with my friends, because I've been hyping and yapping for quite some time now. It's tough trying to keep something like this a secret.

Cool website, it's kinda like having a guidbook for NiD. But more on topic, amazing album guys (one of my new favorites in fact) but I don't know if I missed it but was there no 'Know Thyself' arrangement on the album?

Thanks everyone for the support and feedback, I'm beyond happy that everyone has been enjoying the album.

As far as not having "Know Thyself", it was decided early on that, due to the fact that it was not specifically in the game, and that it is a very redundant progression of the NiGHTS motif (with a very minor B section), that it would not be part of the arrangement roster. On the same note, the cinematics musics were mostly not included.

Thanks for all the love being spread around, and thanks for those posts, Malan.

The only thing left to do is just keep seeding the torrent, listening to the album, spreading it around, and showing the artists some love (they LOVE seeing reviews of their songs, so please do consider giving an album review with your reactions to each track).

I'll post a log of the listening party at some point once I have edited down the clutter. :D

Yeah that makes sense, I just always loved the bass to that one (so dramatic). Wonderful album nonetheless :) Each time NiGHTS motif came in to any song I did get quite hyped up. Great work you guys :D

I've just noticed something about the song Trans-Siberian Tuning fork, around 1:18 there is about a bar which is very similar to a bar in the Gorillaz song 'Stop the Dams' about 2:33.

Is this a coincidence or do I need my ears tested?

I believe it is 100% coincidence. There's lots of unintention, subconscious, of completely coincidental similarities in music. Example: my Winter NiGHTS remix. I showed it to a friend and he said "Dude, you totally ripped off of the opening riff of 'Gimme Some Lovin' by The Spencer Davis Group and turned it into a whole song". I had never heard the song before in my life but sure enough, there it is.

There is a saying that no new music is ever original. Chances are what you have made has been written by someone somewhere before you and you just don't know it. ;)

I'd also like to post a small recap and update since it has been almost half a year since the album dropped. The hype has died down a good bit and everyone who wanted it has had a good while to let it all soak in. I took a few months off from actively making music and managing projects to relax and focus on my personal life. In the meantime, my involvement with OCR staff has increased greatly and I've been working in the background helping other albums reach release. It's been a record year over there with 11 albums released within a year's timespan. The album also seems to have started a bit of a trend with other people wanting to release their projects on game anniversary dates, which I think is really cool. There's been a lot more interest in people remixing the NiGHTS soundtrack and there's at least 2 in the To-Be-Posted queue that had nothing to do with Lucid Dreaming. That's a really nice thing to see, and one of the things I hoped would be a ripple effect of the album.

As most people know, there's a current competition here where you can win one of ten physical copies of the album. I know not everyone was able to procure a copy either during the donation phase or by attending a panel, so I highly encourage people to participate and win those amongst the other really awesome prizes being generously given away by our Admins.

Thank you again, everyone, and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday this year.
