It's been a while since I've gotten the impulse to go and start mapping things, but I have plans, you see. I want to recreate bits of world in high-poly to make video-clips because I want to AMV but I'm too obsessive-compulsive to be satisfied with low-poly video... And also the numbers up at the top drive me insane. So... taking on a ridiculously huge project in order to make a video that will probably end up being about 3 minutes and completely unusable for my own stuff what with copyrights and such... But I'm nothing if not dedicated to minutia...

So anyway, the cartography. I spent my evening yesterday mapping Spring Valley in 2D as my starting point and went 'Well, I feel accomplished! I need to post this up somewhere that somebody might appreciate it!' and, thus, here I am. I've been a silent attachment to the NiGHTS community for the most part because I went and got lost after NiD and then since JoD I've been too overwhelmed with school to feel up to chats. So then, hi all, I'm Sand3 and I come to the community bearing gifts of obsessive-compulsive tendencies and computer-graphics skills.

And here be my map.

That's so cool! It's intersting to see that the world is pretty much all circles.

Well, I don't really know if it is, that's just what I've been able to get so far , it might be a bit different when I start mapping it out 3D, this is just kind of a starting point. I also don't have any topographics here yet so it's ignoring all the abrupt inclines and crap. Once I put those in, it'll probably change the paths a bit.

Cool map! This is the first time I've seen it from a straight-above view.

Have you seen other maps of it?

I've seen the 3D presentations of the stages in the "Dream Data" section (press x at the stage selection). It'll show you the individual tracks, too, so it's really cool. Something I wish they'd done for JoD.
