Anyone heard of Monkey Island? It's a series of adventure games full of humor, taking place in the Caribbean during the age of piracy.

The 5th game in the series is Tales of Monkey Island by Telltale Games. It's an episodic game in five episodes. The first episode was released yesterday (to download on PC, and it should be released on WiiWare later).
So I downloaded it. Because it's just an episode, it was fairly short (took me 4 hours to complete it), but it was really enjoyable. Though the controls are a bit weird and take some time to get used to (compared to traditional point-and-click games), but still, I had a great time.

I'm not expecting anyone else here to have played it since it's just been released, but, are there any other Monkey Island fans here? Anyone planning to play this game? Apparently there's a free demo if you want to try.

I played one of the old PC ones, forgot which. Enjoyed it a lot, been years since I played it at all..

I never got through the entire game, but had some friends that started me on it... and purposely named my glow in the dark skull Murray thanks to it.


Seems like a decent series to re-check out again.

I preordered this but haven't had time to download and play it yet.

But I love the Monkey Island series! The Curse of MI is definitly my favorite. I'm also excited that the original is being released as a "special edition" with better art and voice acting; I ordered the promo E3 pins and now can proudly walk around showing off "How appropriate, you fight like a cow."
