I was thinking that the moment I saw the gameplay style. XD "Uh oh, sexy demon lady and DMC style gameplay? Here come the crossovers!"
Now I really want this game....
Edit: I just found out there's even a guy named Enzo in the game! And he's apparently a wussy, fat, Italian underground informant. OH ME OH MY I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A MAN BEFORE.
Second edit: The development team is even called Team little Angel. XD

I'm actually starting to wonder if they aren't actually in the same universe.... Doubtful, but still...
Well, ever since Kamiya (Creator of Devil May Cry) left CAPCOM...I doubt it...But since he is also making Bayonetta he could possibly make subtle hints.

The director of Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe and Okami talks sexiness, fan service and battling the forces of good.
by Cam Shea IGN Australia
September 30, 2009 - Hideki Kamiya is a legend in the Japanese development scene. This is the man, after all, that was a producer on the original Resident Evil and directed the second one, and then went on to direct such landmark titles as Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe and Okami. He's an inspiring designer, and we were fortunate enough to sit down with him at Tokyo Game Show 2009, along with Bayonetta's producer, Yusuke Hashimoto, another industry vet, who has had a hand in the development of everything from the original Resident Evil and Devil May Cry, to RE4 and God Hand.
We were there, naturally, to talk Bayonetta, the upcoming action title from Platinum Games. While it may not necessarily break the mould in gameplay structure, delivering an evolution of Devil May Cry's tried and tested third person combat model – albeit on a whole new scale, there's no denying it executes this with such style and panache that jaws invariably fall to the floor in this game's presence. The gameplay is lightning fast, and the wildly inventive visual design really makes it a treat to watch - and raises all sorts of questions. How did hair came to be so tightly integrated into the design and gameplay? Why are you a witch blowing the halos off angels? These questions and more, answered here....
IGN: I'm curious about how the core concept for the Bayonetta character came about – in particular the hair motif.
Hideki Kamiya: To really get to the heart of the matter, the explanation of how the hair comes into play in the game is that the hair is intended to accentuate and really show the physical movement of the character as you play through the game, sort of in the same vein as Dante or Joe from Viewtiful Joe. Dante had his coat and as Dante moved throughout the game his coat swayed and sort of accentuated that action, to give a really visceral sort of look and feel to the game. Same way that Joe's scarf flowed around him as he moved around. So in that same way, Bayonetta, as a beautiful woman, she has the long, flowing hair.
Initially that was how we had it – her hair was out flowing around behind her, and as she moved it really ebbed and flowed behind her to really give a lot of accent to the acrobatic movements that she does in the game, but the key weakness there was that it obscured most of her body, because her hair was out flowing around behind her, so we went back to the drawing board and thought 'well, how do we still have that visceral movement? How do we still show that, and yet, not obscure her whole body and end up covering up everything we wanted to show?' So we had the hair flow around her body forming into her battle suit, and it flows down off of her arms, so you still have that accent there – it still serves that same purpose, but it's a pretty drastic change to the overall costume and the look of the character, so in thinking about that we thought, 'well, what if we have her completely naked and her hair flows around her body and forms this suit?'
Independent from that, we had the idea that we wanted to use the hair as some form of attack – her hair is the source of her power as a witch but also as a beautiful woman, and we wanted to show that by having it summon forth these monstrous hands and feet and demons. We'd already had that idea so once we locked in the costume we then brought those two ideas together to see how they worked. Once you try and pull those two things together, it's pretty obvious that if she's using her hair to summon forth giant demons, what is that also going to say about her body, so that's where you have that the hair actually pulls away for a moment and you get to see a little bit of her skin underneath, then it snaps back into place. And so it was these two independent ideas that sort of naturally flowed together.
IGN: And that leads to some very nice fan service. It seems from watching the trailers and playing the game that this is a big component. How integral is that to the design?
Hideki Kamiya: It's a very good point that yes, it ends up being fan service, but it's sort of a natural result of putting together exactly what we wanted to make, and then the idea that it would be really good fan service evolved and came out of that naturally, but it wasn't that we set out to say 'what sort of fan service can we put in here?' We set out to make what we wanted to make, and that was just a bonus, basically.
Yusuke Hashimoto: Adding to that, the image of the character is this sexy female, and obviously if you're going to make a lead character a female, she's got to be really super sexy – that's just a given, but within that context, within that idea, then is, well, how do we define sexiness? What is it about sexiness that makes it sexy? Obviously there's a pretty big trend in Japanese games to think that breast size equals sexiness. How much of that are you showing? How much cleavage are you showing? And that's going to give you your definition of sexiness. I don't feel that's the case – it's not my personal taste and it's not what I feel is appropriate for Bayonetta. What is appropriate for Bayonetta? Obviously if you've seen Bayonetta, you know that she's not about bust size… and there's no point in the game where she's actually just bearing it all. It's not showing off as much skin as possible and it's not about breast size. It's about leaving something to the imagination and having that sexy mystique, and that is the core of sexiness as far as I'm concerned. It's not just simply bearing it all.
Person we were sharing the interview slot with: What's the relationship between the main character and the butterflies?
Hideki Kamiya: Since the main character is female I wanted to put as many accents as possible to really emphasise that and play it up. You see a lot of other modern action games and third person shooters where they're these rough looking gruff men and stuff, and all of that is intended to give you this image of this really rough, monstrous, dark world, whereas Bayonetta, she's this slender, sexy, elegant woman, so you really want to play that up and emphasise that and show that this character is different from all those other characters. So including things like the butterfly motif, and – you may have seen that when Bayonetta takes damage, instead of having blood fly out of her, rose petals fly off of her, and the target reticule is a lip mark, a kiss mark, so, was it really necessary to do that? No, but we played around with it and tried to put in as many little things as we could to really play up on it and make it stand out.
Also, the idea that she's this beautiful woman, she's a witch, and so she has a contract with the underworld, and she uses those demons – these big monstrous demons, to do her bidding, and so you have the juxtaposition of that; the difference between what would otherwise be these ugly, monstrous demons, but she's this beautiful woman calling them forth. Having said that though, when she does – for example – the Wicked Weaves; the big punch, if you look closely you'll see that there's a butterfly on the back of the hand on the giant fist that comes through, and her shadow is actually a butterfly shape as well. A lot of these things, while they weren't necessary to make this kind of game, they're what makes Bayonetta who she is, and gives her her own unique persona, and emphasises her femininity and sexuality.
IGN: Coming back to working for the underworld, it seems an interesting inversion that you're playing as a witch and fighting angels. What was the thinking behind that?
Hideki Kamiya: When we set out to design, well, what kind of character is Bayonetta, what kind of character do we want to make, right away we knew we wanted to make something super human. Something beyond the normal abilities of just a regular person. Something extraordinary. So we were thinking 'what can we do? How can we bring that about?' The idea was, well, she's got to have some kind of special powers, how about we have her using the forces of darkness, rather than her necessarily being the good guy. How are we using the forces of darkness? She's summoning forth these demonic powers – that's the source of her powers.
We thought that sounded pretty good, but taken a step further – what sort of world is she going to live in and what sort of enemies is she going to be fighting? I mean, it's kind of close to Dante, for example. He's half demon and he fights demons. It's already been done, so in talking with the team, we discussed a lot 'what enemies could she fight? What's stronger than a demon?' Then somebody said 'What if they're fighting angels? Angels would be stronger than demons, right?' And it struck a chord with us, because it's like – if your enemy's God, can you really defeat God? Wouldn't that be the ultimate opposition for you then, that you're fighting good guys? So it very quickly evolved into this reversal of good versus evil, dark versus light...
IGN: So is God the final boss?
Yusuke Hashimoto: (laughs) You'll have to play the game to find out.

I liked Devil May Cry but i didn't really like the characters that much. They seemed a little bland.
Bayonetta, however. Well, it's certainly got a character, hasn't it lol XD A sassy female lead, wicked music, kick ass combo's and a motorbiking section that just puts a little icing on the cake.
I heard there was a reference to Eggman/Robotnik somewhere in the actual dialogue, which is a nice little nod at SEGA.
Now, how about a NiGHTS cameo, eh?

'Let's Dance, Boys' is funky!
I feel so happy that this game is being published by SEGA. I hope Platinum Games stick with SEGA if they go on to make sequels. It's so nice to see a new character in SEGA's catalogue.

It's got a certain SEGAy feel to it. Definitely the use of the brass instruments.
I beg to differ. Even if I didn't already know who the composer was, this soundtrack has Masami Ueda written all over it and I personally tend to associate that particular sound with Capcom. Either way, the music is excellent and Ueda is one of my favorite game composers, so I have faith in his abilities.
Honestly, I'm trying to stay composed, but Kamiya being behind another raw action title makes me crazy in the best possible way. Devil May Cry has cemented it's position as one of my personal greatest games of all time to give you some perspective. Hell, anything from Platinum Games makes me ecstatic. I fell in love with them back when they were called Clover Studios and released Viewtiful Joe. I could give a flying f*** who publishes their work so long as they can keep making games. I sincerely believe them to be the most visionary game developer I've seen for the duration of my life and can't heap enough praise on them.

NEWBayonetta Figurine Appears at TGS 2009
More info here.<3LINK
I´m watching for the lyrics and hope to find them.^^
Here's what I got so far from what I hear:
Bayonetta you mystery
You come along with a destiny
This is your life, you better find who
Who you are
Bayonetta this is your fight
You're gonna rock girl, you're gonna shine
Girl when you fight, it looks like you're dancing with magic
You're magic
*hard to tell part but best guess*
Come along, come on, c'mon there's only one more new way
Come along, come on, go through there's only one way away
Dance
Fight
Feelings, feeling
Dance
Fight
*it gets really hard here*
You're wild, you're wild, you're wild
Bayonetta you're very alone and (no idea)
Sadness lies in your smile
(something) shines in your eyes
Here's to life (unsure if correct)
(repeat song)
I'm trying to figure out the parts I don't know now.

I'd like to mention as a PSA to anyone else with both a 360 and PS3 that the PS3 version is substantially worse than the 360 version. You know, just in case you haven't heard about it already.
