[Dex la Cabra]

i thought that since people were making the effort to put their works of art on here, i would also put stuff up! these two pictures are of the same character, except one was drawn two years ago. just thought i'd show how much i've improved recently (although it's nowhere near as good as most of the stuff you lot can draw!)





and just to show you where you may have seen him before. he was on my signature for a while!

can anyone point out places where i need to improve? i find it easier if other people tell me and i find the difference between the first and second pictures quite amusing

Well, I'm not really an artist, but I think you should try to draw smoother lines. Because some of the lines seem a bit distorted; this is especially noticeable on the weapon's blade. Unless that's done on purpose.
Also, the coloring seem to go outside the lines, and that's a bit strange.

i wasn't feeling too good while drawing it, and the table was all bumpy, so the lines were screwed up but i shall definitely try to improve on my lines! and i just didn't bother to edit the picture to get rid of the colour running-ness, the pens i use can sometimes be too thick for parts and their smaller equivalents release too much ink and mess it up. i should really invest in photoshop!

that's a better version of it replacing the old one now! obviously it's not perfect, but it's better than before!

WOW SHADING! I am just now getting into shading, and I can only do it with pencil. You are truly amazing. *bows down*

If I were to point out an area of improvement, it would be to smooth out the shading. With markers, if you over lap alot with each colour, it makes the blending much less sharp.

i like shading with pencils, it's easier! i always use markers, and they're starting to annoy me to no end! D: i'm really not that good when you compare my work here to other artists on the forums

it still needs a bit of work though plus, the blade is supposed to not have any tone, for storyline purposes oh, i just realised, the topic's called devil and shikisai, but i haven't uploaded any pictures of shikisai! i shall get onto that!
