Invisible or nonexistent?

I personally think that he has an invisible body

I think it adds to his mystique that he has no body and magically levitates. Plus, bodies are overrated.

Though I wonder, in the game, can't you grab him and hit him on his "invisible" part?

I voted "inexistent". I think that his hat, gloves and shoes are his body, and that they are magically linked together somehow.
Though I wonder, in the game, can't you grab him and hit him on his "invisible" part?
actually, you can grab the invisible part in the game, which makes me thinks that there must be a body there
but maybe it works like that since it would be tedious to aim directly to his head/gloves/feet

I vote for invisible though.
I kind of like to think of him as "inconsistant". He has no body, except when he does. Like some sort of quantum mind-f.

I think "nonexistent" is the word you want.
I vote for invisible though.

I second this. He has a body, he just doesn't use it all the time (?) perhaps. Or he has an anti-body.
...it doesn't need to make "sense"..

And since when has anything in NiGHTS made sense? A Giant Spikey headed guy with 6 Disembodied hands has 7 kids, And one is a genderless jester, ones a gothic Mime, and One is a Bodyless Psycho card throwing Clown. Does that sound like it makes sense?

Maybe Nightmarens are born with invisible body parts. NiGHTS has No Neck or wrists, so Jackle might have been Deformed or something.

Hmm...when you say it like that, it makes me think of NiGHTS being a comedy show...
Hmm......this is tough...I'd have to say 'invisible'. Why? I personally think of it like this: Wizeman kidnaps children and/or babies from the Waking World, steals their Ideya, and reshapes them into Nightmaren. Unfortunately, he one day(night) got an emo/goth kid, his happy-go-lucky, rebellious brother/sister and a semi-psycotic friend of theirs.
The goth kid says: "Go ahead, take my Ideya, who cares?"
The rebellious brother/sister says: "No way!"
And the semi-psycotic kid just cackles.
Upon seeing this, Wizeman shaped them into: Reala, a gothic mime-clown thing, NiGHTS, a rebellious purple androgynous jester, and while he was shaping the semi-psycho, NiGHTS attempted to save him, which screwed everything up and thus, Jackle is now invisible except for his eyes, mouth, and clothing.
...I don't know...

What if they are energy? They gotta wear clothing and heads to identify each other because they are invisible if they don't. Then again that sounds kind of stupid.

Time for NiGHTS as a freak show fanart! It's amazing when you put it in perspective- how can you not love the giant cat with a penchant for rodent-shaped explosives, a huge, probably prehistoric lethargic fish, a giant fat woman with no legs in a flamboyant bunny gown, and a dragon that breaks off into convienient bite-size pieces? And since when has anything in NiGHTS made sense? ^^ I agree with this too ^^Jackle's body is like NiGHTS' gender, intentionally ambiguous. It's meant to be a mystery, like a magic trick. There's no science or logic to it. It's a dream.
^^ True that! ^^Hmm...when you say it like that, it makes me think of NiGHTS being a comedy show...
I also like your theory as to nightmaren creation, and your sig made me laugh! @inthenightlight

I think the sparkles inside it's clothes are it's body, so yes it is partly naked.
I think first levels kind of have "fluid" bodies and that their clothes are also kind of part of them...almost like...fur I guess, or even an exoskeleton that they can't maintain solidity without, which is definitely the case with Jackle.
(I'm aware it's not a true First Level, but was "supposed" to be)
