This happened a few nights ago. I was up late at night doing homework feeling rather drowsy and decided to just rest my eyes for a second. And then when I open them after what feels like a minute later, three hours have already passed. I told myself I had fallen asleep, but it felt like I hadn't rested at all. In fact, I felt even more exhausted than before. It was super weird. Any idea what to make of it? Has this, "time jump" thing happened to anyone else? Do you think I really just fell asleep? Discuss!

This has happened to me before. Sometimes you just nod off without realizing it and when you wake up you haven't had an adequate amount of sleep so you feel exhausted.

I generally experience this after taking Nyquil.
Why won't this stuff work, I need to get to sleep... oh wait six hours have passed.

That happens to me a lot, too. I give myself two hours for a nap. One hour for the sleeping, because I invariably crash for about an hour even if I intend only half-an-hour, and another to recover. I often won't notice I've slept until I roll over and look at the clock. And then I feel so tired afterward that I can barely move, and I don't feel like doing anything but going back to sleep :( . I have to go downstairs and grab a bit of sugar to re-energize, but even then I still walk around like a zombie.

It usually goes the opposite direction for me... I'll have been so panicky about laying down to get up at a certain time, that it'll feel like hours and hours have dragged along, when it'll only have been a short 25-40 minutes. Still very, VERY tiring.

Other times, I will actually get the rest I sought after - wake up feeling like I slept for 4 hours, and it'll only have been a half-hour. rather nice, when it works..

That's happened to me as well. I swear my internal clock runs on Tokyo time. :(
