I still got my A's, but again, to me controlling JoD feels like a jumbo jet, whereas NiD feels like a fighter plane.

Sure, the analog's not quite as smooth, but it's not like it's completely jagged, either. Admittedly, I'm using a third-party Gamecube controller. I couldn't use the Nunchuk analog to save my life...

But for me it's different. I never liked using the analogue or D-pad controllers (in any games), and I have always played console games - including NiD - using a stick controller, which is a controller option the Wii simply doesn't offer. I have, however, gotten used to the Remote+Nunchuck style now (got all A's now), but I will never be as good at JoD as I am at NiD, unless I somehow can find a useable stick controller for the Wii.
On a side note, I have actually found one level in the game where the Mindsight is useable, and even better suited (for me at least) than the Nunchuck option. And that's the Sky Concert; it's not easy, but i find it better.

I went ahead and modified my nunchuk housing to be round like the Saturn pad, which helped a lot. To me NiD is much easier to control, too often in JoD I feel like I'm tilting or something, and I have to fight against it to keep my bearing. Perhaps using the nunchuk does still make it a bit more difficult,, but I think the slight adjustment in camera angle JoD has (which faces more forward than to the side, as NiD is) contributes to this disorienting feeling.

Hi,
How did you modify your nunchuk housing, did you file it into a circle instead of the octagon shape?
I may find an old GC pad and do the same

I rounded it out into a circle using a Dremel with sanding bits, plus some fine sandpaper. I eyeballed it as far as accuracy goes. You can find Dremels at stores like Home Depot and such. The tough part was actually disassembling the nunchuk's plastic housing, since it requires a tri-tip screwdriver. My friend managed to get it unscrewed using a small flathead, but I had trouble with that step myself.Hi,

Cool, That is my project for the weekend .
Luckily I have a triwing screwdriver that I got of the net for repairing my DS, so that should save a bit of time

Very true. In NiD you almost never get caught without dash, at least after gaining some experience with the game. With JoD it's all too easy, you end feeling like an air sloth. Levels are more 'spaced out' in JoD. And the rocket is too unwieldy to use in many situations. Another example of how a small tweak in game design can really mess things up.I noticed that, too. In NiD, you go slow as molasses until you dash, and then the "momentum" from that carries you at a greater speed for a pretty long time. That means you can go very fast without constantly having your thumb on the dash button. In JoD, though, the dashes wear off almost immediately after you stop pressing the button. This makes it hard to keep a long link chain without using the rocket persona, which requires you to press a button in a whole different place. It gets easier to made sudden shifts to rocket with some practice, but before you're used to it you're almost guaranteed to lose your link chain anyways because it takes you a split-second too long. To make things worse, the dash meter runs out a lot faster in JoD, making it even harder to keep up a high speed. That's my only major gripe with the JoD controls.
