I still got mine on the Dreamcast, makes no difference to me if it hits the PS3. Good on for XBox players who haven't been able to play it until now.

I hope they'll do some balancing fixing to it, because balance wise, it's a bit of a mess.

Either way, Awesome.

Pfft...you're joking right? Re-balancing such a this game's cast would take far too long and only delay a release. Besides, MvC2 was never really concerned with balance. It's always been about spectacle and novelty and uber combos and the wow factor of the whole experience.

I'd like them to at least fix the infinites.

I'm very happy about this but I wish CAPCOM had a least released the demo with single player. I was so excited to try out the online but all they had was local multiplayer. I don't even have two controllers :)

And there will be many ragequits when scrubs figure out that MSP is just too good! It will be a glorious day, indeed!

In my rare moments of free time i've been playing the original on the Dreamcast. Started again with a new file, actually. I forgot how fun this game is. I care not for the balancing because in a game like this i don't think it needs it. If you're looking for a beat 'em up that sticks it close to realistics and balanced tiers then you've come to the wrong place, lol. I see this as a hardcore arcade game rather than a fighter anyway. There's just so much going on in there at times. The reason i play it is because it's over the top.

Let me know if they add anything new in-game to this, won't you. I don't expect to see any new characters but you never know...they may just throw something in.

I'm still holding out on a MvC3 one day.

Good I don't have a 360 but I did play one of series for the ps2. I do enjoy these in the arcade wherever they're around

lolno.

I can still see a lot of rage quits from so many people when they get hit by Magneot's c.lk.

Infinites make Marvel a lot more exciting. It makes players keep on thinking of ways to set-up their infinite, while trying to avoid the other person's. Someone getting a ROM infinite with Magneto then getting an unblockable set-up on their next character coming in is a lot more exciting than not.

Besides, it's not like it's actually easy to pull off the infinites anyway. They do take skill to do.

PS3 people will have to wait until August 13th.

If I got this I'd get utterly owned in each and every ranked match by veterans most likely.

I think I'll try the PS3 demo just so I can play it a bit with my stick. But I want to remain loyal to the Dreamcast version. Though that one doesn't have online or anything.

I believe so, I saw something in the PlayStation Store that was MVC2.. otherwise yeah, same game plus the widescreen format (that cuts off some BG's) and a couple of graphical filters (''smooth'', ''crisp'').

I guess I just don't wanna 'buy' the game again, lol. Maybe I could bash a new stick using this crappy Topmax stick I bought for cheap.. I really hate that I never had a real good way of controlling MVC, SFA3 and MVC2 (though at least the pad is serviceable with MVC2). That Agetec stick still has full $60 value from ten years ago..

Also now I'm finally playing Soul Calibur (IV) with a stick, I see what I've been missing.

Online multiplayer alone makes this game worth purchasing again since fighters live and die by their multiplayer. I bought it a second time anyway. At the very least it's a better investment than King of Fighters XII.

I noticed you got KoF a day earlier that it's release date...

Anyway...Are the ranked matches brutal? The only friends I have that played it were all tourny-types. So i never got good at the game plus I didn't have a DC, PS2, or Xbox at the time. Well...I have a PS2 now...but yeah. Never got that good at the game.

I couldn't tell you. I've only had a chance to spend about 15 minutes on the game so far and decided to dink around in single player. However, if I was to guess I'd say ranked is probably going to be a bit unruly. I'm willing to bet there is going to be a lot of top tier spamming from pros (to dominate) and scrubs (thinking they'll dominate). Player matches are probably going to be the best place for variety and fun, especially if Backbone set up rooms like they did in HD Remix. I could be wrong though.

Well...I've been poking around and gathering facts and it seems that in ranked matches there are mostly noobs with high-tier characters on (They all are getting beat by mid-tier characters played by experienced players who aren't even trying) the most.

DL'ed MVC2's PS3 demo last night, you get to play an offline 2 player match, characters are Ryu, Chun, Spidey, Wolverine, Iron Man, Strider, erm.. am I forgetting anyone.. I expected it to be limited, but jeez.. you can't even return to the main menu once you start playing. $15 for the full game ain't bad, but I'd really hate to leave my Dreamcast in the cold..

edit: weirdest thing, it seemed like the demo had no pause screen, but it's there.. weird
