And for that matter what about Nightopia? After Nights and friends walks up the stairs the Wizeman nukes the ground below and it's never addressed again. What do you think?

Do you think Owl is still alive?

I don't see why Owl would not be alive. Just because you don't see him doesn't mean he's dead. He can disappear at will, after all.
He probably just ran away when he saw Wizeman. What a coward.
Same for Nightopia, it has no reason to have disappeared. Especially with the kids getting back all of their Ideya and Wizeman being destroyed.
I guess it's never addressed again because that was not needed. After Wizeman is defeated there are only cutscenes in the real world.
Though Bellbrigde is apparently part of Nightopia, so it hasn't been completely forgotten

I can't say...

The way I see it, Owl doesn't pertain to Nightopia or Nightmare, but rather to the Dream Gate. Since that will always be there, Owl will always be there to help new dreamers.
Nightopia should be fine. Only things Wizeman created were destroyed after, and since he tried to ruin Nightopia, it would still be there since he didn't create it.

As much as I could could care less for the character it is kind of odd how he is totally left out of the game's ending having been present throughout what I'm going to say is 97% of the game.

You know, I'm not really sure. I think it's like Wizeman's theory: "If there is evil in the hearts of humans, nightmare can never cease to exist."
I think that as long as there are new dreamers, Owl will be there to guide them.
Oh! I had a sudden realization today: the reason SEGA might've chosen an owl to be the guide instead of some other more dream-like creature may have come fromt eh expression "night owl". It COMPLETELY fit's Owl's job description!

don't read on if you haven't unlocked the ending yet! (although i can't imagine anyone hasn't by now)
yeah, so i was watching the ending of JoD, just when they climb the staircase, and saw when wizeman destroyed the dream gate. the dream gate isn't seen again after this point, and that's when i realised, neither is owl. he was in the dream gate while wizeman was destroying it, so did he get destroyed too? i hope not, we all know owl is the master of the universe! perhaps he eluded destruction by using his teleporting abilities? does anyone have any evidence to suggest whether he dies or not?

well I certainly dont have any evidence, but like you said, he could probably have used his teleportation habilities to scape to a safer Nightopia, because he can easily appear and dissapear from one place to another

To be honest with you, I think he made it out alive. If he didn't we probably would've been shown him dying in some manner.

that's what i thought too, but then i remembered that reala, a somewhat more important character, isn't shown to be alive or dead either after the fight with NiGHTS. he too just disappears. perhaps as it's a child friendly game any connotations of death aren't shown. or maybe owl and reala are fine, and i'm just looking too far into things

There was already a discussion about this (here).
As I said, I think Owl is still alive.
You said he was in the Dream Gate when Wizeman destroyed it, but that's not really true. Owl was not in the cutscene, and in the Dream Gate he only appears when you touch a pole or when you go near specific places. He does the same thing in Nightopia, so you can't really conclude that he was in the Dream Gate at the time. And even if he was, he could have easily teleported himself to Nightopia.
As for Reala, I have no idea what happened to him after the fight. But even if he was still alive, he died when Wizeman died, just like NiGHTS.

oops sorry, i was unaware of the other one :S although this brings up a further question, where does owl go when he's not at the dream gate or nightopia? owl space?

I believe that both of them are sill alive I mean owl and nightopia are critical aspects of game and I highly doubt that sega would have them dissappear

I agree with Kentilan. Owl was probably in Nightopia, making big bubble balls with Pians (yay, alliteration!), while his home blew up.
