NiGHTS inspired by music

So is there any particular music you guys like to listen to when drawing NiGHTS art? Or maybe you've been inspired by a certain song to draw a particular piece?
Here's a place to discuss it!
I always feel really inspired to draw by music. At the moment I'm drawing Reala and am listening to a few songs by Tori Amos...especially Crucify and Carnival seem to fit really well ^^

For NiGHTS related art I find myself often listening to orchestrated songs... though it really depends on what kind of picture I'm drawing.

When drawing, or writing, NiGHTS stuff.... *points to avatar* I listen to a TON of Kate Bush music. She always sets the stage for what I wanna put as my goal for a piece, never fails to get me going<3
But aside from the obvious XD I actually have a playlist on my ipod for artings! Let's see... I currently have on it...
Joanna Newsom
Iron and Wine
Modest Mouse
David Bowie
T.Rex
Ladytron
Bjork
Magnetic Fields
Sigur Ros
Caroline
Deep Forest
XD;;;;

For instance, while drawing this, I listened to the likes of "The Mind's Eye" by James Reynolds, and "The First Thing" by Ronnie Montrose. VERY blues-ish and downtempo stuff.
Actually, there's one song in particular I listen to almost as often as the OST while drawing NiGHTS - "King of Lullaby" by the long-since-dead Eiffel 65! It's one of their lesser-known songs, but it's so very NiGHTS-ish, even the lyrics! (If you can understand them, LOL. Blasted vocorders.. XD) I'm actually working on an AMV for it too. So many muses, so little time..!

But its not always NiD music of some sort. It's sometimes anime music like the song "All the Way" from Kino's Journey. One of the lines is "Fly away" and it's a rather excited but gentle tempoed song and I just busted out my paper and pencil and did my best to draw NiGHTS flying in the air. Sadly that didn't come to flourishen, yet anyway.
But the one song that ALWAYS inspires me to draw NiGHTS is the instrumental version of "Battle of the D'Force Masters" because without words to music, I get a clearer image of what I want to draw. And that means I'll draw what I see in my imagination better

I'm gonna hunt down some of your suggestions, everyone. More music can't be a bad thing! Especially music that inspires me to fly!

Seconded on all counts. Silence tends to drive me nuts whenever I'm doing anything. Mainly soundtracks, or music that has minimal lyrics are the things I go for. Heck, I still listen to the Sonic 3/Knuckles soundtracks XD Anything orchestral really.I am generally inspired by music, I can't draw properly in complete silence.
For NiGHTS related art I find myself often listening to orchestrated songs... though it really depends on what kind of picture I'm drawing.
Though out of the few soundtracks/albums I've been listening to lately, Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle seem to be the ones that are stuck on repeat. I have to admit though, Reanimation is one album I usually stick on for background music.

Err... anyway, I noticed most Pink Floyd songs are really good music to listen to, especially before going to sleep. Most of their songs always remind me of the conscious, and, in particular, 'Learning to Fly', 'Breathe', 'Time', and 'Comfortably Numb' are really nice listens :3.

I've only been able to draw NiGHTS once. Now I can't draw anything without messing up horribly
Practice makes perfect.
I use to draw very shitty. In about... 3 months, my art improved from 'sh!t' to 'cartoonist'. You just need to put your mind to it ! Thinking that you keep messing up horribly means that you will soon improve drastically. That's always the case for me.

I'll try to upload a pic of something I drew recently.

Also depends on the mood of the pic; drew a disco themed NiGHTS pic, and you know I put on some Bee Gees while I was drawing that.

I've yet to listen to the actual song, as I have just stumbled upon this on a friends livejournal, but just reading the lyrics already gets my drawing vibes up and running!
I lose my way
No one cares
The words I say
No one hears
My life it seems
Is a world of dreams
Deep in the night
You'll find me
Dream and you might
Behind me stay
If you will stay
We'll dream the night away
Dreams to dream
In the dark of the night
When the world goes wrong
I can still make it right
I can see so far in my dreams
I'll follow my dreams
Until they come true
There is a star
Waiting to guide us
Shining inside us
When we close our eyes
Come with me
You will see what I mean
There's a world inside
No one else ever sees
You will go so far in my dreams
Somewhere in my dreams
Your dreams will come true
Don't let go
If you stay close to me
In my dreams tonight
You will see what I see
Dreams to dream
As near as can be
Inside you and me
They always come true
Inside you and me
They always come true
~
That's a real nice bedtime song for me when the drawing has emerged, I'll be posting it somewhere around.

"Tambourine Man"- Bob Dylan
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to.
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
In the jingle jangle morning I'll come followin' you.
Though I know that evenin's empire has returned into sand,
Vanished from my hand,
Left me blindly here to stand but still not sleeping.
My weariness amazes me, I'm branded on my feet,
I have no one to meet
And the ancient empty street's too dead for dreaming.
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to.
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
In the jingle jangle morning I'll come followin' you.
Take me on a trip upon your magic swirlin' ship,
My senses have been stripped, my hands can't feel to grip,
My toes too numb to step, wait only for my boot heels
To be wanderin'.
I'm ready to go anywhere, I'm ready for to fade
Into my own parade, cast your dancing spell my way,
I promise to go under it.
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to.
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
In the jingle jangle morning I'll come followin' you.
Though you might hear laughin', spinnin', swingin' madly across the sun,
It's not aimed at anyone, it's just escapin' on the run
And but for the sky there are no fences facin'.
And if you hear vague traces of skippin' reels of rhyme
To your tambourine in time, it's just a ragged clown behind,
I wouldn't pay it any mind, it's just a shadow you're
Seein' that he's chasing.
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to.
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
In the jingle jangle morning I'll come followin' you.
Then take me disappearin' through the smoke rings of my mind,
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves,
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach,
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow.
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free,
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands,
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves,
Let me forget about today until tomorrow.
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to.
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
In the jingle jangle morning I'll come followin' you.

"The Adventure"- Angels and Airwaves
I want to have the same last dream again
The one where I wake up, and I'm alive
Just as the four walls close me within
My eyes are open up with pure sunlight
I'm the first to know, my dearest friends
Even if your hope has burned with time
Anything thats dead shall be regrown
And your vicious pain, your warning sign, you will be fine
Hey oooh, here I am
And here we go, life's waiting to begin
Any type of love, it will be shown
Like every single tree, reach for the sky
If you're going to fall, I'll let you know
That I will pick you up, like you for I
I felt this thing, I can't replace
Where everyone was working for this goal
where all the children left without a trace
Only to come back as pure as gold to recite this all
I cannot live, I can't breathe, unless you do this with me[x6]
Hello, here I am (do this with me)
And here we go, life's waiting to begin (do this with me)
Hello, here I am (do this with me)
And here we go, life's waiting to begin
Life's waiting to begin
