Do you have a song that you find so beautiful and amazing or that you can relate to that makes you cry? For me, its the song This I Love, by Guns N' Roses. I can relate directly to that song. Plus, the flute and piano parts just make it so much more amazing.

eheheh...
You just opened a can of worms.

Nah, really. They only get me on the right day.
I don't know if the "so beautiful" or "so amazing" thing really applies - but songs that break me down when most vulnerable:

"The Freshman" by The Verve ..reminds me so badly of the end of my freshman year in high school. Reminds me so badly of my bestie who I've lost touch with big time. Cue scene and situation.

"Push" by Matchbox 20 ..just seems like a story that somehow relates to my life, or did back when.. it's a passionate song, to me.. very emotional.

"Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails ..mostly because I first heard it on a peculiar day in my life. It hit hard, let's just say that. "If I could start again, a million miles away.. I would keep myself.. I would find a way." Who HASN'T felt that way?

"Lazarus" by Porcupine Tree ...frghghghhhhhh.. waaaaah... !! It'll get me most any day. Pretty song that is way too inspiring for some kind of excessively dramatic scene. The piano riff in the refrain grabs me by the heartstrings.

Other happier stuffs -

"Rubina" by Joe Satriani makes me a little sniffly - 'cause once I started picking up the tab for the song.. my god - it's so delicate and beautiful.

"Until We Say Goodbye" by Satriani - since, well, yeah, my friend and I both sat around listening to Engines of Creation on the last few days we got to spend with each other before I had to go back to Florida. I miss him dearly, and miss playing Kazoo along to Borg Sex.. roffles.

I don't know why I'm replying to this as there aren't many to list.. mostly since I gravitate toward music that tends to not exacerbate my less than desirable emotions.

Let's see...

Adam's Song by Blink 182 - Rings a bell in concerns to my life during high school. That and my brother kept blaring it when he first got it on CD, since he was ga-ga for Blink. So I guess some general annoyance is paired in there too.

Whatsername by Green Day - Doesn't actually cause tears. Just melancholy moreso. :|

Forever by Vertical Horizon - Dead parent. Not going into it further.

Hurt by Nine Inch Nails immediately comes to mind.

Not that I cry every time I hear it or anything but it has happened. It is one of those songs that can just worm its way into your heart and take you over as it plays.

Oh God. I'm so glad I am NOT the only one.
Yeah, I heard the Johnny Cash version a few days after i went over a real painful break-up, and it's still a song to this day that really describes... me. All of us. Everyone has someone they wish they treated better. Everyone wishes they could do better than they did.

Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison also gets me.
What else... uhh...

Angie by Rolling Stones ( "All the dreams we held so close, seemed to all go up in smoke/let me whisper in your ear/"Angie, Angie, where will it lead us from here?"/With no loving in ours souls/and no money in our coats/You can't say we're satisfied/But Angie, Angie/They can't say we never tried~" Know that whole line by heart. )
Komm, süßer Tod (Come, Sweet Death) from End of Evangelion
"A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton (again; it was a song my ex- loved and we sorta cherished)
"Look at us Baby" by Serina Paris ( See ^. not as much anymore, though, since it's more of an upbeat song than i thought. )
"Don't Stop Believin" Journey

Lots of upbeat love songs, yeah >>

"When I die" - Lush

It is such a sad situation, I hate to think about it. The lead singer's boyfriend (who was also the drummer) committed suicide. This song was, ironically, written 4 years before it happened.

"Viva Forever" by the Spice Girls (Yes, I know, laugh) is really sad. It's all about remembering past happiness and wondering if you'll ever find, "the one."

Sure, that's sad, but the one song that makes me cry EVERY TIME A HEAR EVEN THE FIRST NOTES is...

The Christmas Shoes.

Yes, the title deserved that. If you've ever heard it, how probably agree that it's terrible. It's about this little poor boy who's mother is dying after a chronic diease, so he wants to buy her shoes for Christmas so she looks, "beautiful when momma meets Jesus tonnight." This guy is in the store and sees that the boy in rags can't afford the shoes, and the boy claims that, "Daddy says there's not much time," so he pays for them. The man feels that the boy was sent by God a a reminder of what Christmas is all about. I'm litterallly crying as I type this, :(

Of course my mom even has the CD AND THE COMPANION BOOK about the Cristmas Shoes, which she blackmails me with. ^_^

That sounds rather heart breaking Noctourne Wonderland. ^_^
Little kids that are suffering or less fortunate makes me bawl like a baby.

"Tsuki to Tawamure" by Duel Jewel always brings a tear to my eye.
I have fond memories of seeing that band at my first anime convention ever. Little naive 14 year old that I was. Ah, memories, I miss those boys. xD

Ohhh you bet I got some.
Two tracks from Spirited away for some reason just make tears well up. Those two are "The Name of Life" (Ano Natsue) and "Always With Me" i've had my cousin listen to The Name of Life once, and she just looked at me weird said "What's wrong with it? It's not sad at all!"

Dreams of an Absolution by Lee Brotherton. My cat died when I first started listening to that song... *shudder* bad memories.
Guide You Home from Dawn of the Dragon. i cry most times I hear it. *sniffle*
Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson. yeah, i know, pathetic.

Music by Musashi..... lol^^

For me it's the song that plays during the credits of Tales of Symphonia... lol no, I kid the ToS.
Though on the Video game note, Kratos and Mithos theme both bring tears to my eyes.

Actually TORiAS, I am currently working on a ballad that may make you cry. Remember how my heart was broken a few months ago? Well I now finally have the fortitude to start writing a song about it.

I'll second Komm, süßer Tod (Come, Sweet Death) from End of Evangelion.

And there are a number of Pink Floyd songs that make me tear up, mostly cause they remind me that my life is going nowhere.

Poles Apart
The Gunner's Dream
Paranoid Eyes
Southampton Dock

and Sanvean, by Dead Can Dance

I hate that "Where are you Christmas" song. It's so sad. My friend dubbed it "emo-christmas" :D

That Christmas shoe song was very sad. "Sir, I want to buy these shoes, for my momma please. It's Christmas Eve, and these shoes are just her size. Could you hurry, sir? Daddy says there's not much time, you see, she's been sick for quite awhile, and these shoes would make her smile"

Unfortunately, I can't remember the rest, except for the whole "mommy meets Jesus tonight." That song made me very sad. But it can get you to thinking about what the holidays mean to you. It just goes to show you that it's not about the presents, or the tree, or anything commercial. It's about family, and the time that you spend together with them.

I'll take ''cry'' to encompass a fuzzy feeling inside; these compositions have had that effect:

"Adolescent", from the second RahXephon soundtrack.

A few tracks from Wolf's Rain's soundtrack, like "My Little Flower", which is essentially Cheza's theme. It helps to think of her character while listening.

"Sonatinas for Two Violins", NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams

Lost to the Waves ,it's the theme of the indie game Aquaria. It really makes you feel the loneliness of the game's heroine D:

"House At Pooh Corner" by Kenny Loggins makes me wanna cry. It's from the perspective of Christopher Robin, who's grown up and can't find his way back to the Hundred-Acre Wood and Pooh. It's all about the end of childhood and how you sometimes wish you could have it back, something that a lot of people can relate to. Another version of it is "Return to Pooh Corner," which ends with Christopher finally returning to the Wood.

That is so sad! I hate songs llike that...I can't listen to Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow brick Road" without sobbing.
