No... the lesson was 'horror and how it's written'. Or something like that. We were comparing it to Edgar Allen Poe....

In a dream I had some time ago I was a soldier in some war. I believe the area we were fighting in was a desert like area, sort of like the middle east. I don't remember much but the main thing I do remember is that I was killed. I went over to a ditch to find cover and a grenade landed right next to me. I woke up before the initial blast. It's always stuck with me because of how realistic it was. It almost felt prophetic.

What made matters worse was when my 19th birthday came and I was sent my selective service registration forms. Before signing the paper all I kept thinking about was that dream and how it felt even more prophetic. Even worse, there were talks at the time about Korea launching a nuke at the US which really freaked me out. I signed the paper though. It was one of the most uncomfortable experiences I ever had.

Ugh, I just had a really bad nightmare for the first time in a long while. A sick stranger was sleeping outside my house, and when I let him in to see if he was okay he got hold of my big chef's knife and killed my mother with it. Then, I realized he was actually my older brother, and he came after me very slowly with the knife, moving stiffly and staring straight ahead.. I tried to run but it was like I was slogging through molasses, I couldn't move fast enough. I got out of the house, still running, and I can feel the knife nicking my back. My mom's guts are all over the yard. I scream for help and see a whoosh and some sparklies out of the corner of my eye. Everything stops and then I wake up.

Now I'm paranoid about people breaking into my house and hurting my family... I guess a nightmare like that would scare anybody, though.

Funny thing though, when I screamed for help I was actually screaming NiGHTS's name, and as I was waking up Reala told me "You're pathetic" and NiGHTS then told him to shut up. That was interesting. :x

I had a few dreams result in a recurring fear. Not a phobia really, but just something that made me very uncomfortable. The most notable one that triggered it went something like this.

I was walking up the steps to some building, presumably a court house, that was large and white with columns on the front of it. I was apparently following some woman in a bright pink vinyl raincoat. She spotted me and started to run, but then when I caught up with her, she turned. In place of a human head, she had the head of a horse (brown, dark brown mane, and a white blaze). For some reason, this told me she was dead. So I ran and she chased me. At some point, I ran into an elderly man who started spraying me with hairspray (hate the stuff, so this made the dream odd), saying that it would help or something. And then he started aiming directly for my face and revealed himself to be Death. ...With a toy scythe that had an electric yellow "blade". Somehow, I was then on the settee we used to have in the hallway upstairs (and we were in my house now, too) and I couldn't move; I was completely paralyzed. It felt like the air was being forced out of my lungs and I tried to thrash around, eventually being able to move my arm...

And since then, sleep paralysis freaks me out excessively, and seeing myself in my dreams leads to immediate discomfort. That was one of the first times I'd ever properly been myself and not another person of some sort in a dream.

Haha, no, if that actually happened I would a) be dead or b) in a padded room somewhere. Yeah, now that I think about it, that's probably the most horrible nightmare I've ever had. I'm not that obsessed really, I'm pretty surprised the unconscious me would even remember about NiGHTS. Usually I never dream about the 'maren gang, and if I do it's completely nonsensical and silly. Maybe that's why I ended up remembering the dream even though I was trying pretty hard to forget it after I woke up *lol* Argh.
