Reala doesn't do anything that really evil he just acts like a jerk. If he were evil the game would have been even shorter than it already is. What do you think?

I think he's just a maren who's forever loyal to his master. He just follows orders.

Reala's more of a "puppet" than "villain"... which I think is a real shame because Reala has some untapped potential of becoming a villain that's greater than Wiseman (not hard to accomplish...)
now...
if he can just be a little more creative than "I'm gonna stick you in the same cage you escaped from!"

NiGHTS rebelled and there is no obvious reason why Reala couldn't. He remains loyal to Wiseman, demonstrates cruelty and appears to be unrepentant for his actions. Sounds evil to me.

Reala is cool, but he doesn't really seem like big villain type to me, probably because of his utter lack of ambition. He fits better in the eternal rival/enemy role.

In NiD I think he was holding back in the battle VS NiGHTS because he still saw NiGHTS as a kind of little brother/sister and didn't want to hurt him(he was easy to defeat, but a little annoying because he's REALLY hard to paraloop) and in JoD, he was more of a...how should I put this without him giving me nightmares for a week? In layman's terms, a bootlicker to Wizeman...if he had boots...or feet...in other words, following orders.

EDIT: I was just thinking of how after you beat a boss in NiD, they disappear in a light and supposedly die. Maybe Reala survived but Wizeman lowered him to a level 2 'Maren, resulting with him becoming kind of a lackey.

Ok, I may sound kind of wacko, but I believe that Reala is as evil as NiGHTS. Now, before you jump all over me and send the men in white jackets, let me explain-

NiGHTS and Reala, to me, are one and the same, Anima and Animus if you will, almost the same, except for the fact that one is more feminine (anima, NiGHTS) and another is more masculine (animus, Reala). The both have the same capcity for love, hate, evil, and kindness, but they show it in different ways. NiGHTS spends his time relaxing in Nightopia until Wizman starts an uprising and he uses all of his power to stop Wizeman. Reala spends heis time relaxing in Nightmare (he DOES have to do SOMETHING with that throne) until NiGHTS starts an uprising and he uses all of his power to stop NiGHTS. This prove my point that they are shockingly similar- except for the fact that we accept NiGHTS as "Good" and Reala as "Bad without thinking of their intentions. If the game was "Reala into dreams...", we would most likely accept Reala as good, almost a son trying to save his father from being murdered by a rebel. He become more sympathetic that way, eh?

So, basically, NiGHTS and Reala are equally "evil", they just show it in different ways. :P

I tend to rarely think of people as evil. Instead, I see "evil" people as just people who have done bad things, but have a bit of good in them whether they show it or not. Satan himself is really the only person I consider to be pure evil. At first I thought Reala was just plain evil. The main reason was because he attacked me in a dream. It was one of the most disturbing nightmares I've ever had, because it confused me. I wasn't sure whether the sounds I heard were from the real world or in my dream. That's the only thing that can make me scared in a dream anymore since I've learned to lucid dream: blurring of the line between dreams and reality to the point I can't tell the difference anymore, and loss of control. After a while, though, I lost most of my hostility towards Reala because of how he acted in other dreams. Sure, he wasn't necessarily friendly, but he wasn't nearly as threatening. More like he was just bored and looking for a little entertainment. Now I can't think of him as being truly evil, for whatever reason.

I think reala was meant to be like shadow. I think he was supposed to start out evil, but later work together with nights and become good. The idea of the chaos seem to be influenced from the nightopians. I think the concept of shadow was influenced from reala.

If he were truly evil he would have taken Will back Wizeman along with Nights, instead he let's Will go at Night's request. In fact he didn't even bother with the other characters until they got in the way.

Hey gang, long time no see ^^

I tend to use DnD terms for a character's alignment, as it seems to fit best when describing them to another person.

Reala, to me, is fluttering between Lawful Evil ("I'll follow the rules as long as it's convenient for me" / "Rules are there to manipulate to my own ends") and Neutral Evil ("I'll do what I want on my own terms, and I don't care if it hurts someone.") Of course, neither of these fits him perfectly, but they sorta help. Reala's fearful subservience to Wizeman takes away from those descriptors, so it's kinda hard to call him evil when he's little more than a lackey XD

Now if he were to renounce Wizeman and do his own thing, then yes, you could describe him as evil, in that he would do what he wanted with little care for the Nightopians or Visitors. I could, however, see him teaming up with NiGHTS to stop something that would interfere with his own agenda.

Huh... I guess you COULD easily cast him as a Shadow for the NiGHTS universe XD

I think Reala is evil because of this theory I have. That being that each of the nightmarens are imprints of different parts of Wizeman's mind and heart. Reala would be an imprint of Wizeman's cruelty and evil.

No. NiGHTS is an imprint of what little good was left of Wizeman's soul.

I think so. If you read my post above, I've said that NiGHTS and Reala are equally evil, they hust express it differently. Sage and Yawn have supported that, albeit indirectly.

No one who risks their life for someone else can be evil. Well, okay, NiGHTS could've known he'd come back in the end, but he did go through a lot of trouble for two dreamers who he'd just met. Could someone evil do that? "You will know the tree by its fruit." I think that says it all.

Well see, NiGHTS is Wizeman's happiness in physical imprinted form. When Wizeman has accomplished something and feels joy, that is part of what makes NiGHTS. NiGHTS represents what little good was left of Wizeman and Wizeman's happiness. See, Wizeman put a piece of himself into each of his Nightmarens and those are the pieces that made NiGHTS.

Generally, I put Reala in the sociopath category, but now that you bring this up, I might need to think about this.

Well like I was saying, accomplishing any of his objectives would make him happy. That and anything else that goes well for him.

First of all, I love you for using these alignments. It makes it easier.

I agree moreso with the "Lawful Evil" end of what you're saying.

Hmm, the ideya most likely now that I've thought about it...They're either a source of nourishment or a source of power full him and I'm willing to bet that if Nights and the Kids didn't get the ideya back before he got his hands (all of them) on them he would have been invincible.

I wouldn't say evil but I wouldn't say she's do-gooder or a goody-goody two shoes either, she speaks rudely to Owl, Reala, and her own Creator, she ditches Helen at the drop of a hat, and she constantly harasses poor Octopaw. But her intentions tend to be more mischievous than malicious: She cared if Reala was hurt, she did that blast flying concert board with Helen even though she didn't really want to, and we know that show wouldn't hurt Octopaw if she did catch him. Except Owl and Wizeman...apparently, she doesn't care about them.
