So, what do all of you think of it? Dumb, childish baby game, or WAY too underrated?

LOL! I totally forgot that game. I remembered playing the demo. I can hardly find any copies here, but I wanted to try it out.

I own the game and like it on the whole, but I wouldn't call it great. The game gets major kudos for sheer creativity. It's got a great concept, but I feel it's brought down a bit by a lot of little problems. For example, having no shadow when you're jumping makes platforming sections a pain. Doing an egg bounce to a high ledge only for Billy to fall off the egg while the egg stays on the ledge, then waiting for another to appear was a royal pain in the ass. Egg control in general felt pretty loose at times. I had a lot of small complaints like this.

Billy Hatcher was more good than bad. It just could have used a little more polish.

For the ledge glitch, I usually stand a few feet away and THEN go up/roll(rolling is better, but MIGHT make you fall). The only time this doesn't usually work is in the Dark Raven Showdown mission near the dark gate. You know, with all those pillars.

Billy Hatcher was pretty cool. It's got its flaws, but it's still a fun, decent, platformer.

The game is solidly good; fun to play, good design, originality, etc. But it wasn't really a GREAT game. The controls handled all right but the awkwardness of rolling the eggs hindered gameplay more than helped it.
I had fun with it and would never tell anyone to avoid it or anything. But I wasn't in love with the game and also wouldn't tell anyone to run out and buy it.

I don't really know if it is over/under-rated?

I REALLY don't believe this. I went over to my friend's house the other day and we played Billy Hatcher. He said that it was...*insert obscene sentence here*. He is the FIRST person I know to hate this game. I mean, what's not to love about it? Rolling over birds that turn into cats and lizards and frogs, oh my! and putting on a rooster suit! When I played this, I felt like putting on my dad's old motorcycle helmet and rolling my old bouncy ball through the streets. You know, those huge rubber balls that little kids play with that are like, twice their size? Wait...where was I?

Who comes up with the idea of a little boy in a chicken suit running over baddies with an egg? Sega does.

I way past loved the game. It had a bunch of cute animals, power ups, and even cute bad guys too. It was very interesting to play, cause I've never played a game quite like it. Plus you can get Sonic, Knuckles, Amigo, and even NiGHTS in the game to come help you out.

The only problems I found was that Billy always ran, never walked. So when I was approaching an edge to drop the egg on the egg rail, he's run right off. Also the last level takes you literally 10 minutes.

Billy hatcher is Super Awesome!! I really loved it, and I still play it to this day! ^_^ ofcourse the egg glitch was a little fustrating especially when your on the Giant palace board! >.< but I enjoyed it I think my favorite stage is the showdown with dark raven!

Also, for some reason it seems like Sega really put effort into this game too!

Billy Hatcher is okay. It was good enough for me to get all A's on it anyway. Or were those S's?

I thought the game was mediocre. I don't remember it too well, only that I got stuck on the circus level because there was no way to make my golden egg big enough to go through the half tunnel. So I never found out what happened at the end of the game. Other than that, I found it to good buy.

I think it's a charming little game (and I love the theme song XD) but as others have said, egg controls and lack of a shadow made it a mite awkward to play at times

I know, right? Graphics are worthy to be on the Wii/PS3/360 AND the story is great(a bit childish, yes, but great)!

It wasn't great, but it was pretty fun over all really. I personally loved it.
It was so colourful, which made it really appealing to me. I don't really like all these dark games anymore. Lol.

I remember the ads on tv but I never really cared about it. I think I even downed it and deemed it lame. I'm not sure if this counts though but when I was in a store there was a demo of it for Gamecube so I tried it out. Wasn't that bad but I didn't remember it much after I left the store.
