Did the minions take those forms based on the dreamers? I thought it was only the big-time maren who did... shows what I know eh? LOL

To be honest, a lot of those minions from the first one were more suited to happy dreams than nightmares XD

AFter I heard Clawz is NOT in it, I felt sad. Reala, I know, is back, so thats a plus... Makes me wonder about Jackle. Jackle was pretty wicked. :3 Seeing the psycho in new, shiney-ness, and his tarrot cards again.. WIN!
But, I'd honestly have to say new ones. :|

Considering Soft Museum (Claris) and Stick Canyon (Elliot) have one of the same minions (Gao's) and others from both dreamers, I find it hard to believe they are just from the imagination of the kids.
I always thought that they were beings Wizeman created, like the Nightmaren to do his bidding and destroy peoples dreams, and had nothing to do with their imaginations, thats just me though.

I think that's the most common belief. But what I said just shoots the "New kids, New minions" theory out of the water.I always thought that they were beings Wizeman created, like the Nightmaren to do his bidding and destroy peoples dreams, and had nothing to do with their imaginations, thats just me though.

Oh I see, like, there may be new minions, but not because there are new kids to think them up? I hope thats what you meant because for some reason I had trouble understanding what you said, its midnight and I'm tired lol. I do hope that the old ones are involved as well, Verol were my favorite...(purple and greeeen) w00t!I think that's the most common belief. But what I said just shoots the "New kids, New minions" theory out of the water.

Yes, exactly what I meant.Oh I see, like, there may be new minions, but not because there are new kids to think them up?

So, it wouldn't be that the new kids imagine them into existence, but rather that the new kids have different nightmares for Wizeman to exploit. Thus, they would change due to new kids being present, but not be changed directly by the kids.
Although, personally, I do think it will be mixed, as there's some things which would be seen as commonly shared nightmares...
A typical example would be Gao, an electrocuting lion....pretty scarry stuff. XD
Not so sure, how Shleep was devised, Elliot and Claris have a lot of explaining to do there.
I suppose I'd be scared of a purpley/pink owl with yellow/blue stripes too if I ver saw one, in the case of Hollow...which was clearly named after their sense of color-co-ordination.

Oh, you've got to have the Alarm Eggs. Think of them as a good reason to keep in NiGHTS form for as long as possible.Perhaps the Alarm Eggs will be back? I haven't heard anything about them (..unless it was on a podcast that I've been missing) I really disliked those things.

To get all the Pains in a level, you needed to explore pretty thoroughly.

True enough, but think about this -- if you could just explore freely all the time, what would be the point of the levels? They would effectively become un-losable, as there would be no way for the kids to just wake up from the level without adding additional obstacles that relate to the waking world. Besides, the AlarmEgg stands for them having to wake up in the morning. It would be illogical for that not to be there, at least if we're assuming that the game is set in one of the later REM phases of the night. And yet there were Pian eggs off the path from NiGHTS routes.
To get all the Pains in a level, you needed to explore pretty thoroughly.
Don't get me wrong here -- I hate the AlarmEgg as much as you do, particularly due to the hamper on exploration, and maybe even more. All I'm saying is that I can see why it's there, and why it could be bad for them to remove it.

From a standard gaming point of view I think it's a very nice addition to the levels, adding a desperate sense of haste to an otherwise horrendously boring segment. (And besides, I'm in love with the twist on "Racing against the clock" XD)
However, the fact that there are eggs scattered around the levels that require exploration to find, putting the limit makes it annoying to find them.
And besides... we're talking about a flying androgynous jester that fights nightmares in a magical dream world. Logical is hardly the term I'd use to describe anything here XD

Good point. An AE-less mode of gameplay would be ideal. As you say, it's perfectly sensible to have it there from a developer's viewpoint, but the gamers hate that kind of thing after beating it the first couple of times. Personally, I want the capability of exploration, but not as a detraction from the challenge of the game. And this is why I said there should be a mode without it. Keep it in the core game as a standard game mechanic, but say once you finish a level, you should be given the option to freely explore that level on foot without a time limit.

...This is a good point. x.x But I'd still like to be able to approach the problem with logic. XPAnd besides... we're talking about a flying androgynous jester that fights nightmares in a magical dream world. Logical is hardly the term I'd use to describe anything here XD

But at any rate, I'd like to see some new Minions. Ideally, there will be a balance of old and new, but hey-- I'm happy either way!

agreedDo you think they will use the old ones? Create new ones? A mix of both? I say new. They will probably be scarier than the in the first game.

The alarm egg was easy to beat, just jump into it twice, then it doesn't bother you for a while. Plenty of exploring to be had if you didn't suck at jumping into things.
:| Unless you're me. I have been known to jump at it to knock it down... miss.. and hit the little light and get Night Over. xD

The only thing to wake you up would be the sound of Claris/Elliot/Helen/Kevin's parents crying. *twisted Jackle smile again*
