Skids and Mudflap got a lot of complaints because a lot of people thought they were demeaning stereotypes of African-Americans, iirc.
It really depends what viewpoint you take it at. In some lights they can be seen as racist, but in others it's not.

I really don't know why those two are considered African-American stereotypes. I think once people heard them say "We don't read much" and that they were pretty much illiterate, they automatically assumed they were supposed to poke fun at African-Americans. But in all honesty, I didn't think of them as being that stereotype at all while I watched that movie; they came across to me, between the twangy accent, their dialogue, and the little reading, as stereotypes of old-fashioned country farmers who back a long time ago often couldn't read well. My brothers and parents thought the same thing. That stereotype's not any nicer, really, but it's not what all those people assumed and I wish people would stop crying African-American racist joke at everything.

I originally heard that they were suppose to be "Hillbilly" stereotypes, but I've also heard African-American because they speak "Jive" (as Wikipedia puts it). It's a mixture of both being flown around.

Because they are voiced by black people of course.
They are also violent, uneducated apparently, and are supposed to talk like "ghetto black people" apparently.
Thats what I think the reasons are anyway...I rather enjoyed them.

This seems to be the general consensus. I didn't like them, but I didn't think they were racist.
Also, Tom Kenny is white.

I forgot about Tom Kenny actually...Even though i like his voice.
I'm still dissapointed that transformers Animated got canceled because of this movie though.

I... The sequel let me down hardcore. =/ Too many unnecessary organic jokes involving robotic aliens that are just ill-played and toilet humour, and it felt like a serious stab to the original. The first movie held so much promise, regardless of the human presence in it (they *are* on Earth, after all), but... Too much Sam/Mikaela angst in the sequel too, in my opinion.
Also. WHERE WERE THE LAMBORGHINI TWINS, EH? ...and also disappointed with what they did with Arcee. I mean, I can understand breaking her down into three separate bots in a hivemind (if the bikes merged, that would have been cooler), but the femme deserves a LOT more than what they did with her in the movie. She was a badass little candy pink and white sporty alien car, man. Bad. Ass. I dislike Skids and Mudflap only because they're used as another source of "stupid" humour. They have their moments, but man... Just... ugh.
On the plus side, the action was good when you could tell what was going on, Ravage looked friggin' AMAZING, and Soundwave was just awesome despite the total change from his cassette-playing self, but... Those are the only positives I can find. >: Oh. Other than the realistic take of Optimus talking to government folks. That was just cool.
I'm really hoping these movies have a serious case of "the second installment falls short of the mark". I'm an open-minded TF fan from forever, but that just... Oh, it hurt me.
/angry opinion, lawl
...it was better in some spots than I make it sound, but this is always my initial "RAH!" at the movie. Still a headache-giver, though. Plz to not be making organic jokes with giant robots? >:

I know, right? By the time Simmons made the comment about Devastator's weak spot, I was like "Come on, enough already!" It's like they had to stick those kinds of jokes in every scene they could. Without all that organic humor, as you call it, the movie would have been much more enjoyable, and there would have been more screen time available for the new Autobots to use.Plz to not be making organic jokes with giant robots? >:

I could handle it coming from Simmons. I mean, it's Simmons; I'd expect that kind of thing from him. But everywhere else, it just... Sad days.
But they're freaking ROBOTS FROM OUTER SPACE, WRITERS. >: Stoppit pls.
