True. Fortunately, the Sonic comics are still quite good (except for Sonic X).Wow I never knew that. Nice to see they still think about it. Wait...maybe its not nice to see. O.O Well as long as its a cameo little thing like that then I like it. Just so long as they do not hurt us more with a NJOD comic. Oh God the hurting it does it would bring!

I feel like there was another NiD reference in a different issue. Right after Sonic's trip through space, I believe.
A comic or poster in his room.
I'll dig through the issues that I have and see if i can locate it.

Let's all hope 'Hurting it does' will keep that particular horror locked away.

Yeah, it was a NiGHTS-head shadow in his room, I think behind the light or something dumb like that. Anyway, I think it was about issue 130 or so, in the second or third issue after he came back.heh, I have that scan.

EDiT: Oh yeah, and on the topic of random bizarre cameos in the Archie Sonic comics since the whole dumb space thing -- I've noticed that they keep showing a couple of Flickie birds here and there, in basically that same context. That's kinda stupid, since they established way back in the Sonic 3D Blast adaptation that Flickies no longer exist outside of their own private dimension (that has no way in or out).
Also, I believe it was issue 47 or 48 that featured a cameo of Ristar in one of the first few panels.

Marvel could just as easily reciprocate. Only with comic books.

Their contract with Archie would have to expire first. And Sega won't do business with another comic publisher while they're still dealing with Archie -- that wouldn't look good.Actually, Sega has recently signed a video game lisence with Marvel, where Sega would make video games with Marvel characters.

Still, I wouldn't rule out the possibility that Sega could cancel the contract and sell the rights to Marvel. It would be pricey and it'd burn a lot of bridges with Archie, but it's possible. Heck, I would encourage it, personally.

NiGHTS and Spider-Man vs. Reala and Venom.
Which actually...doesn't sound THAT bad...

Uhh... no.It'd be stuff like..
NiGHTS and Spider-Man vs. Reala and Venom.
Which actually...doesn't sound THAT bad...
Let's keep NiGHTS and Reala in the dream world and the Marvel pantheon in the "real world", shall we?
Of course, if I had my way, the comic rights would go to Viz or Tokyopop or someone else who could make NiGHTS into a manga as it should be done.

Edit: And Curiosity, you really need to be more tolerable of other people's opinions. Just like my friend Tsuki's PJ idea, you really need to not be "Uhh, no." About every thing. Seriously, I'm getting tired of it.

My apologies. I'm still trying to adjust to the fact that this isn't a TF message board. The dialogue is a little coarser over there.Ever notice how much Venom and Reala's faces look alike? I just noticed it the other day...

Still, I don't want to see NiGHTS become just another property in the House of Ideas. NiGHTS is its own unique, pure, individual franchise and a crossover with anything outside of Sega would be a huge mistake. Heck, even a NiGHTS crossover within Sega beyond the occasional homage would not be a good idea, in my opinion.

It's okay. I know, my idea was crap, but...well...whatever. I totally agree with you.

I've already begun getting back into them, because DC and Marvel "continuity" is an absolute mess right now. (I won't go into detail here, but I've shredded the current state of mainstream comics time and time again.)You know, there was a Sonic comic book at the local comic shop for Free Comic Book Day. It's actually surprisingly tolerable. When I stopped reading them, the stories and art were both complete crap, but that one issue seemed okay. I might actually be willing to start checking them out again. Maybe...
As for Sega giving Marvel the license to use their characters...I wouldn't worry. Believe it or not, Archie comics sell a LOT. Even more than most mainstream books, due to Archie comics being everywhere, and much more friendly to a wider audience.

I reckon Dark Horse or DC should get the NiGHTS licence...then we could have NiGHTS Vs. Predator!
Most awesome comic ever.
Or, we could go the other way with it...
