In a little less than two weeks, Hartford will be the gathering place of geeks! This isn't just an anime convention, but geekery in general--anime, sci-fi, board games, videogames...we'll even be graced by the presence of Robert Picardo and Ethan Phillips, known best as the Doctor and Neelix, respectively, from Star Trek: Voyager. There will also be Tim Buckley (Ctrl+Alt+Del) and Scott Ramsoomarsomethinglikethat (VG Cats)! Oh, and I'll be there too, cosplaying as NiGHTS. ;D
So, how about it? Who's coming?

Hey! I'll be there along with good old Xenon...wherever he disappeared to.
Anyone who went to Anime Boston would feel right at home at Connecticon. While about half the size of Anime Boston, they have just as much lined up with events running from like 9 AM to 3 AM. Anime and games are the central themes, but pretty much everything else you'd be into as well would be represented. Webcomics, roleplaying, tabletop, card games, etc. They accept at-the-door registration ($50/30/25, 3-day/Fri or Sat/Sun).
It's less than two weeks away! If you're near Hartford, you owe it to yourself to check out Connecticon. Find out more at www.connecticon.com
And of course the NiGHTS series needs attention there. Let's represent the community!

Living in Mississippi sucks 'cause we don't get any cool conventions here.

It's too far for me.
But I want to meet Robert Picardo so bad. He was my favorite character in ST Voyager.

I was totally having a brain fart (due to lack of quality sleep) and as you were walking away I was like "OH WAIT NOW I REMEM--...where'd he go?"

It's all good! I was excited to see the famed cosplay in person! Plus just to say "hello" to folks!
I can't lie, even though I can fake it, I'm no master of the "social butterfly" technique.
My friend who lives about two hours away from me drove up to my house and then I drove up to Hartford. We both went to the University of Hartford (and graduated last semester) so it was a good chance to meet up with some of the local-ish geeks we knew. But both of us were unexperienced at a REAL con. I've only previously been to "Con Bust" which was depressingly small and she had experience of a similarly small one. Because of this we basically hung around each other to prevent things from becoming too overwhelming?
But it was a superfun time and I hope to be there next year!

awwwwwwwight, picture time! Curtesy of TRAViS!
Oooh, a throne! BOW TO THE PRINCE.
I approve of the number of yuri girls in this convention.
NiGHTS attempts to "fit in".
THE RETURN OF BULL NiGHTS. FEAR IT!
And at the end of the convention, not a Nightmaren wasstanding floating.

Otakon is pretty big. I'm sure you'll see at least one cosplayer.

Not today I won't. I thought I was but I'll have to wait tomorrow. It is pretty big but I have never seen NiGHTS there. I have seen pics in the Cosplay section on this site but I never see the cosplayers in person.Otakon is pretty big. I'm sure you'll see at least one cosplayer.
