Going to see it this sunday ;O Had to get my tickets during the week though, since they are being sold out.
After I seen Batman begins I have positive expectations of this movie.

Positive expectations are thoroughly justified. Heath Ledger pulled off an amazing performance. I hate that he's gone.

I got to see this almost a week before it came out, but I couldn't brag about it because of non-disclosure agreements. :) It was quite awesome though and Heath Ledger definitely stole the show. It moved at such a brisk pace it didn't even feel like a two and a half hour movie. Also, did anyone else notice the movie feels like less of a superhero film and more of a crime drama?

And thank God it did. Super hero films are cheesy(looks at X-Men, Spiderman, Superman, the exploding shark) and it's not because they're not done well, it's just because they're cheesy. Batman is more of a detective comic anyways so it worked well. Batman Begins sucked though.

As for Ledger's performance, it hit the nail on the head. It was exactly what Joker should be. All the acting was good, though. Still didn't like Batman's voice, but it's easily overlooked. The Dent guy was really good, and Two Face was awesome. Ya know, it was an awesome movie in general, though I think it could've been better if Batman wasn't in it... Maybe.

Maybe folks who haven't seen it shouldn't be reading a thread called "The Dark Knight"?

Anyway, I thought the movie was alright. It had some good parts, I liked the Two-Face story. But on the whole I just couldn't really get into it.

I only really care about Batman comics if I care about the writer, so when Alan Moore or Grant Morrison are at the helm, I'm all for it. I have "The Batman Archives" and am amused at the crude early stories. But most of the time and with most incarnations of Batman in different media I just don't really care enough about the character?

I don't really think Batman is all that interesting of a character, the villains are awesome though. *hopes David Tennant can get the Riddler role*

Heath Ledger pulled off an amazing performance. I hate that he's gone.

If I recall correctly... didn't he die not long ago after starring in this due to accidental overdose of some drug of his?

I've heard positive info about this film so I may actually go see it (alot of todays films are lackluster at best)

Can Batman REALLY be considered a superhero? he doesn't have any "powers" just gadgets and fancy tights, unless money counts as a power in which case we should see Bill Gates cruzin down the streets in a WindowsVistamobile... till it comes down with a bug...

Batman: "Robin! get the shark repellent Bat Spray!"
that scene gave me a good laugh. notice what else he had in his Heli?
Barracuda Repellent
Manta Ray Repellent
Whale Repellent
when I saw that movie it looked to me like the shark was takin a major wiz when it came outa the water. lol

I have but one thing to say.

Heath Ledger + Facepaint + Purple suit = BEST MOVIE EVER.

I don't even LIKE Batman and that was the greatest movie ever.

I want to see this so bad but I probably can't till its on DVD or comes on the TV one day. It could be years before I see it. Its too expensive and hard to find time to go to the movies......

Sounds great though.

I have only one regret.
Now Two-Face is dead, so he can't be used in Batman Begins 3.

And all of Batmans good villains are dead. The Demon's Head(Ra-Ra's Ahl-eh, screw it) is crashed in a train, Joker is in jail for eternity, and Two-Face is dead. All of Batman's other enemies are pretty pathetic compared to the ones that have been used.

Penguin = not a big enough villain
Catwoman = not a big enough villain
Bane=not well known enough
Mr. Freeze=nobody wants to risk another "Batman and Robin"
Posin Ivy=same deal
Riddler=you have got to be friggin kidding me
Mutant leader=not born yet
Clayface=not a big enough villain
Scarecrow=used already
Killer Croc=hired muscle

None of them work anymore. *sigh*

I don't think they would have used Two-Face again anyway since they JUST USED HIM!

Wait, there is another one coming out? Hmm.....I guess there would be.

Jim Carry ruined the Riddler for me. I can't think of him the same way again......(I'm sorry guys but I HATE Jim Carry with ever fiber of my being.)

I don't see anything wrong with Penguin or Catwomen. Both are great! However they should not use them both in the next movie since thats would be like Batman Returns all over again.

I always thought Scarecrow had a lot of potintial but never got to it. *sigh* He has already been used though so he should not return.

Just because Batman and Robin ruined Mr. Freeze it doesn't mean that the next director will. There is still hope. FREEZE!

All in all, there are a lot of villains that can be used even if you think they are not well known enough or good enough. Granted, it will be hard to top the Joker, but there is still hope.

Okay, first of all, it is not clearly stated that Two-Face is dead(plus there's a little bit of symbolism about the coin landing non-scratched side up). Second, it's called Batman, not Batman Begins, therefore Batman Begins 2 or Batman Begins 3 sounds incredibly stupid, kinda flamey but it frikkin' gets on my nerves so much. Moving on. Penguin would be good, because it seems like this re-vamp is going back to the original Batman of the 40's and back then Penguin was a mutated penguin-man, just a really rich guy that likes to commit crime. He's like the the evil version of Batman because he has all this money and makes gadgets and stuff but uses it for crime instead of crime-stopping. Catwoman would also be welcome, and she's a huge villain in the comics. Seriously, where'd you get the idea that she's small-time? I guess her being one of Batman's love interests isn't good enough for you. I'd be okay with Catwoman if there wasn't that blasted Catwoman movie already made, they'd probably want a crossover which would suck. Riddler I think is our best bet, 'cause he's pretty awesome there's already people wanting to play him in the movies(like David Tennant as I said earlier). They better give him a decent costume, though, nothing like that green spandex with the question marks on it. A simple green suit with his standard cane would be nice, and he'd have to have a mask that can actually conceal his identity.

Edit - I forgot something, Lazarus Pit.

Edit 2 - I forgot another thing, Heath Ledger's performance is really good, but just because it's good doesn't mean someone else can't do just as good a job. With the mask he was wearing, you could hardly tell it was him anyway so it wouldn't be too hard to find someone else to be the Joker in movies to come. There's no way they would resign Joker to staying in Arkham for forever.

I think a great villain for the next Batman would be Black Mask. With all the chaos Joker caused to
Spoiler
, I think it would be a great time for the King of Gotham to step in. It doesn't hurt that he despises Bruce Wayne, something that could add an interesting plot for the sequel.

Catwoman is also a welcome possibility so long as she's handled right.

I Believe Harely Quinn was going to be a villian before TDK. It was brought up... Yeeeah. Anyways, TDK.

I loved it, it was pretty good! Though I was disappointed in the darkness of it after reading all those reviews on, "How you shouldn't take your 9-year-old" to see it.

Other then that it was rockin', and Heath did an EXCELLENT job as the Joker. I really hope they wont go through with making another movie though, I really believe they should quit while their ahead...

ah, The Joker was absolutely amazing. He truly stole the show from two face and batman. then again, i like all jesters jokers clowns and harlequins, so i admit i'm a tad biased
