Yay! I'm not the only one who thought that!He reminds me a bit of Blathers, from Animal Crossing.
I'm kinda indifferent. After listening to Kaepora Gaebola wax eloquent in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, any bird (especially owls) that pops up in a game and starts talking about how I should play the game, plot points I'm going to find out anyway, etc., just make me stop paying attention until they shut up.
I did like his wardrobe, though...especially his glasses.

Thing is that Kaepora is actually useful sometimes. I would never have made it to Saria in the forest had it not been for Kaepora instructing me to follow the music. I would have been wandering around going HOOOLLLLYYY CRRRAAAPPP WWHHEEERRRRE AAAMMMM IIIIII until I got frustrated and hucked the game out the window.

Then again I never got much time to really acknowledge him as more than a guide... mostly his "woo woo!"'s got annoying when I was in the middle of something... his advice never really helped me either... but again it didn't take long for me to unlock everything in the game, so I didn't see him around much...
I will however say he is much less annoying than some other in game helpers I've come across... Midna, from LoZ, being the best in game helper I've ever seen (and even one of my personal fav. vid game characters, period)
BUT!!! my vote says no.

-As DAiLiGHT said, Omochao with wings. And yes, Omochao = EVIL. That's why I throw it down the streets of City Escape in SA2.
-I keep running into the stupid polls in My Dream.
-He stops free reign in the Dream Gate when you're NiGHTS.
-Unlike Omochao, you cannot pick it up and throw it at stuff. D:

But as a character I think he's just fine.
My zoologist major friend also notes with appreciation that his wings flap in the correct direction.

Learn something new everyday or I probably skipped that detail when I was looking up owls.
I'm kinda surprised that you can't skip his instructions everytime you start a character, but atleast it's a short while XD. If it was long, It would be torture. I wonder if he'll come back if they make a night's 3.
LOL! Maybe another 10 years for that one to come out XD.

That bird. That damn annoying bird. I couldn't help but want to pluck every single feather from his pathetic know-it-all body and throw him in cooker but not to eat him, just to hear him suffer more. I wish I could have literally taken myself into the game and put a shotgun to his head to save myself 3 minutes of an unnecessary tutorial at the beginning of the game.

No seriously, I've really grown to like him now.
Though i think what makes his design odd is that his eyes are tiny for an owl. Owls usualy have stonkin big eyes so they can see in the dark....
lol maybe thats why he wears glasses XD small eyes. Can't see anything.

What do you mean by 'Disney-esque'?As it stands he feels a bit contrived, part of the 'Disney-esque' nature of JoD.
Now I know what I always thought was weird about Owl's eyes! They are way too small!

Though he does get on your nerves after a while.
Somebody mentioned omochao, I think hes ok too, though again for more experienced players these types of tutorial characters can get annoying at times. Overall though, they are cool.

Gahhh, omochao, how i hate him. He always appears at the wrong time, i almost die, and it end with him getting thrown into a bottemless pit, or space, depending on locationSomebody mentioned omochao, I think hes ok too, though again for more experienced players these types of tutorial characters can get annoying at times. Overall though, they are cool.

Like, a kind of 'fairy-tale' ness that certain things in JoD exudes.. mainly due to the dialogue, but also a bit about character design, where Owl is concerned. Sort of a Jiminy Cricket-ish quality, if that makes sense. What do you mean by 'Disney-esque'?
