i liked him as a bit of a humourus character with all the worrying he does, my friend made a rather funny impression of him once :angry:

I DON'T like him. Tutorials are boring. At least this isn't Square Enix, were you don't go through 1 tutorial level, you go thru 300 tutorial levels. It's like "You can move with the directional buttons. Press up to go up, down to go down, left to go left, right to go right, up-right to go up-right, down-right to go down-right, down-left to go down-left, up-left to go up-left." Than i hate that! Why didn't they make it like the original NiGHTS? Having to find out the controls by yourself?

  • Interests:I love well-made fanart, drawings and well-written fanfics. I adore people who can be creative in a beautiful way (good artists, writers, singers etc). I like various anime shows, mostly shoujo and maho-shoujo. I also like reading books of fantasy-writers (Andre Norton, Phillip Pullman, Gart Nix etc). I like listening to rock or folk-rock music. I also love various pretty shiny things. I myself write and draw various fan things from time to time. And yes, I also love sleeping, dreaming and being lazy.
I kinda like Owl. That is, when I don't have to listen to him. Sometimes he does sound annoying...
What I think is, my attitude towards him reflects my attitude towards eldery people on the whole. Like, I can listen to my grandmother patiently, but she annoys me too...

And yes, the eyes. Those tiny eyes. Sure, owls don't have to have eyes half the size of their heads, but still...
I believe Tikal from Deviantart made a doujin about JoD, and she managed to give Owl a decent eldery look - eyes size was the same, if I remember correct, but atleast those weren't goggling...
This is something that bugs me about Big the cat, too - I mean his perfectly round eyes with a dot-like pupil. He's a cat! Not a big cat like a tiger or a lion! Shouldn't his pupils be vertical?

The problem with furries like Big is that they have to look humanoid, not like a creepy animal that walks on two feet. Sure, it can lead to weird visuals, but don't think about it too much. :P

I like him, but some videos have given me and my brother some warped views. Especially because of a video I saw on Youtube. Some of you might know it. It's called YTP: DUALIZING IS NOT SAFE FOR CHILDREN by Sapphirechao. (located here: )

Because of that video, my brother likes to call Owl a, dare I say it, a... no, I will not say it unless you people ask. Anyway, we make fun of the fact that he tells Will to "touch NiGHTS". My brother is kinda perverse and it has started to rub off on me a little, sorry to say. Owl is an interesting character and one of the bette tutorial characters. (Better than the annoying Omochao, in my opinion) So, yea. I try to ignore my brother because he likes mocking NiGHTS and Journey of Dreams. It gets a little annoying when I'm playing and he has to talk about how "gay" NiGHTS is. -.-;

I'm lucky in that the whole dualizing thing went right over my head the first time (I was probably being distracted xD) and my only sibling is a little too young to understand. (Or very sheltered. Either works, lol.)

I wasn't so lucky XD. I heard "Go over and touch NiGHTS," and I thought "...Okay. :) " Then I thought, "Stop being perverted; it's probably all in your mind." But everyone else thinks the same thing, too, so...

I don't really like him but I still think he must be in the game, he is a good guide and explains many things that wasn't clear in the original game. :P

I didn't like him, he looked like a Disney character, completely not in the spirit of the game.

Not sure. Character-wise, he was all right. Purpose-wise, not so much. Just appearing out of nowhere, giving useless hints. And every darn time you walk up to the fountain, EVERY TIME, he says "The Dream Drops you collect will appear here". I think the player would get it after the first 100 times. Owl was an alright character, they just could've worked on him a bit more.

Oh? He has a waistcoat, like NiGHTS, has a darker colour scheme, much like the Dream Gate, and is a animal, like most Nightamren. What's "Disney-like" and "completely not in the spirit of the game?" He's used badly, as said above, but I think he fits with the overall feel of JoD.

well... hard to say, i guess he's all right. he kinda plays a role. in fact id say he would more then likely be in charge of the dream gate which would make him a key role, but in the long run he is just like Omachao from Sonic Adventure 2, serves very little purpose but is there to help should it be needed.

I REALLY like Owl. As a contrast to NiGHTS's bratty child persona, Owl gives off an elderly, calm and wise aura that's refreshing. He's gentle and caring; to the point in which he is a worry wart and shows great concern for even the smallest things. He gives off a paranoid aura too, and even though he's weak physically, he does try his best to assist NiGHTS and the visitors when they need it. And while he can ramble on, it's not too terribly difficult to avoid him.

I can gush about Owl all day <3 He's just so fluffy and cute. I need a plush of him.
