NiGHTS is the boss of....

Has anyone ever wondered what dream area NiGHTS was the boss of before Wizeman locked him/her up in the Ideya Palace? We already know that Reala has Stick Canyon, Jackle has Soft Museum (for a good reason), etc, but there has never been any reference as to where NiGHTS' old lair was and if s/he can still access it. Any ideas?
edit: Since I read a post that says that I no longer have to worry about being attacked by set-gender people, I will be referring to NiGHTS as 'he.'

..or there could be an eighth Nightmare that NiGHTS used to reside over that we'll see in JoD.

so if puffy represented elliot's mom, does it mean that:
A- she was created from elliot's subconsience
B- wizeman created puffy to represent elliots mom
C- puffy was already a minion of wizeman and either has nothing to do with elliots mom or simply was sent to elliots dream because she was the closest thing wizeman had to a mom xD (what a mess)
well, not wanting to go into the details of how NiGHTS was created or why, i would assume that NiGHTS would have a realm of his own, like Reala and the other nightmarens, but since he rebeled i supose his realm would just disappear.
this leaves very room for discussion, from the origin of the dreams (spring valley, forzen bell, etc...) to the origin of the nightmarens (how they were created and why). hopefully this will be answered in JoD
sry if i went a bit off-topic

You have to remember that each dreamscape came from the minds of both Claris and Elliot. Which would mean they didn't exist at the time NiGHTS was banished from Nightmare.
You also have to note that each boss stage is in Nightmare itself. NiGHTS is transported there at the end of each stage.
I think that Wizeman put his minions in charge of Claris' and Elliots dreamscapes as soon as they were created...
It's all so confusing >_<

Spring Valley - Gillwing
Frozen Bell - Jackle
Mystic Forest - Clawz
Splash Garden - Gulpo
Soft Museum - Puffy
Stick Canyon - Reala
Outside of that, I've always thought of the Nightmaren as waiting in their own Nightmare realm for NiGHTS to come to them. The manual seemed to make it pretty clear that Nightopia was where the Ideya were collected, and then you travel to Nightmare to defeat the maren. Also, once you've played through the game once, the bosses become random. So I don't think they have a set Nightopian area they're connected to.

I would've said that none of the Nightmaren reside over a particular dreamscape at all.

Thank you. That is exactly what I was going to say. I don't think any maren is assigned to the dreamscape. Nightopian and nightmare are seen as two diffrent places. I think that no matter where you are in nightopia you could get to any boss maren somewhere within nightmare. For one thing, the level assignments don't even make much sense to me. Why isn't Gulpo in Spalsh Garden? Why does the fish go to a frozen zone where he can't even swim? I don't know.
I think the only reason they assigned the bosses the first time you play is so that you don't end up fighting Jackle or Reala on the first level. The bosses seem to get a little harder as you progress and that would really stink if you got stuck with Jackle on your frist try and you don't even know what the heck you are doing. Then after that they make it random because it really doesn't matter after that point.
So all in all, NiGHTS has no lair. If he did it would be full of candy. So there! (No not really but bare with me here...)

It looks to me, that if you look closely in Reala's background of his lair, there seems to be some sort of cannon-y background...So there may be some connection?Thank you. At least Reala's background seems to me.

I said in the very very background. And Reala's area looks nothing like Stick Canyon.

The clouds look dusty. Kind of something I'd expect in a canyon. :\
-edit-
It also has mountains. Not the color of Stick Canyons. But mountains like in a canyon none-the-less.

Soft Museum, has some what of a fun house, and then the Nightmare with it is Jackle's little insane place you'd see in a fun house.
Spring Valley is filled with life, and Gillwings nightmare has plants splurting all over.
Splash Garden... it looks like a giant GARDEN...with a giant HOUSE (and puffy) to go with it.
Mystic Forest. I think the name "The possibility" goes well with the connection between Gulpo and the dream. The possibility that theres a giant monster lurking in the forest! To make it worse- he's a fish!
Frozen Bell... A winter wonder land and a clock tower. Snow, somewhat innocent and angelic. And Time. As time goes on you lose this innocence. Maybe it's more of an Elliot fear that connects it.
Stick Canyon. In an earlier post I gave pictures and pointed out how Reala's lair looks like stick canyon.
I feel Twin Seeds would be NiGHTS' because it is teetering on the edge of dreams and reality, and it gives me the impression that NiGHTS has the ability to connect to reality despite him being a dream... So it makes me feel the connection between NiGHTS and Twin Seeds there.
And man, Wizeman doesn't NEED a dream, he is too bad ass for one.
Before people go "NO WAI ET NAWT LYKE DAT." this is my own interpritation, and I am sharing it. :\

Its in the wallpaper section of this site. http://www.nightsintodreams.com/NiD/yellow.../wallpapers.htm
It is called main.
Oh and your theory about the links between the marens and the dream realm is a very possible. I always thought Jackle and Soft Museum made sense. But some of the others do not to me. But it doesn't matter. Its all our own interpretation.

Hold on a sec, no one is dissing anyone. People may have controversies but that doesn't mean they claim they are wrong. If so maybe we (including myself) need to be a little more clear about it. Everyone has their own point a view but that is because very little is clarified. Also, if I said something that made is seem like I was dissing your ideas then I apologize. I haven't really noticed that on the board yet. Its all really, "Well I think blah blah blah."It is all up to your own feelings and when people start saying "lol no." it just doesn't feel like NiD anymoar.

I better make the most of it then. Someone once said that Twin Seeds was in the waking. Nothing says that it is, but nothing says that it isn't. I thought it was somewhere in between. I know its strang but I thought it was the process of the real world and dream realm starting to combine. But then I read about the Japanese translation and started to think it is just a dream that that both the kids can relate to and therefore meet there. I don't know. But it does seem like a place NiGHTS would really like and could relate to.

As for the topic, if NiGHTS did rule over an area of nightopia and it wasn't Tween Seeds then what do you guys think his area would have been like? What would his nightmare realm look like? I am curious as to what people think. I see a lot of you belive his realm is gone, but what was it then? Since Reala is similar to NiGHTS does that mean their nightmare levels were similar? Did NiGHTS have a nice bit purple and pink throne? XD

This is a pretty difficult one to think of and I might me crazy just for suggesting it, but I believe that a theater set out at a beach during the evening time would be a nice place for our favorite Nightmaren. The reasoning behind the madness, NiGHTS can change to adapt to any situation in the same way that an actor can change to suit any kind of character. As for his Nightmare, I'm thinking that it would be a room that is similarly set like a three ring circus is (NiGHTS has to practice his tricks somewhere) with hoops, balls, etc and finally a throne (just one of the perks of being a 1st level Nightmaren ). As YamiLover 13 said earlier, the throne would have be pink and purple to fit NiGHTS' color scheme... mainly because I'm having a hard time seeing purple and red.

Well, first, I've always thought they mixed up the bosses a bit. If you look at the tracklisting for the NiGHTS soundtrack, it makes more sense which bosses they set to which areas.
I've noticed something similar. I've never understood myself why the bosses appear to be attached to the "wrong" world, game wise. You can see the dream world some of the bosses are attached to in the backgrounds during the boss fights:
1. If you look in the background of Jackle's lair, you can see a snowy landscape in between the tent flaps.
2. If you drill dash around the "tank" in Gulpo's boss fight, you can see the exact same "bubble" showing Splash Garden as the one on the Stage Select Screen.
I'm afraid I can't provide screen shots, so those of you who own the games, please take a look when you can. Terribly sorry for the inconvenience. ^^;;
As for the others in the boss/world list, they make sense. Soft Museum is very rubbery and springy, and Puffy reflects that trait. Reala's battle arena resembles some of the stone structures in Stick Canyon. The only one I can't really explain is Gillwing.
Back on topic, I can't imagine what kind of lair dreamscape NiGHTS might have had while under Wizeman. I will agree, however, that the Nightmaren have no particular place they preside over for the aforementioned reasons. ^^

Thanks for bringing up the backgrounds. I remember somewhere else, someone mentioned that the background to Reala's Nightmare realm was something similar to Stick Canyon. Jackle being in Frozen Bell always made sense to me. Other than protection, the mantle could keep him warm. The rest have pretty much already been explained, or are pretty obvious.
There has been some theorizing about NiGHTS being connected to Spring Valley somehow. In the endings of NiGHTS, Elliot visits the Spring Valley dreamscape. If it was exclusive to Claris, how did that happen?
I don't know what the connection is, but if Spring Valley comes back in Journey of Dreams, with completely different dreamers... what might that mean?

Possibly, this could be to mess with our minds? Seeing as dreams don't really have a routine they have to follow, it could be we WANT said nightmaren to go with said dream, but it just wont happen and we can't wrap our minds around why NOT? Seeing as a lot of people like to match things, it'd be a big "haha!" in our faces that the Nightmares go with dreams that make no sense to them!

You're probably right. So many other things in the game follow that kind of logic, so it wouldn't surprise me a bit.
