Hey people. Just wanted to ask the community, 'cause google isn't cutting it for me.
I'd love to play this game. HOWEVER. I don't want to sit through all the horrible hamfisted dialog and story, and if I'm going to, I'd rather not understand what the hell is going on. I love NiGHTS, but adding logic and plot devices and a script to something involving dreams (y'know, that nonsensical ethereal thing we all know and love) just ruins it.
Oh, wait. I'm rambling aren't I?
Onto the big question:
Can I play a JP copy of the game on my American Wii? If not, know of any mods or chips or anything that will allow me to not have to listen to god awful American voice acting?

Sorry to tell you this, but they still speak English in the Japanese version.

DAMMIT.
I hate the voice acting, but I loooove the music so I can't put it on mute.
I feel like I wanna die now. I was soooo looking forward to this game T__T

...wouldn't it be easier to plug your ears and sing "LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU" whenever a cutscene came on?
edit: And if you really want to listen to the music, buy the soundtrack. It's well worth the fourty-something bucks. VERY worth it. Especially if you have a good sound system to play it on.

Also, you only have to see the cutscenes once, on the whole. You won't be subjected to a lot of voice acting once you play it through. Now go get JoD.

Its unlikely, but its not unheard of; SEGA left a bug in their darts game for the Nintendo DS which prevents you from completing the game so theres a SMALL possibility there could be a bug in JoD which prevents you from getting all of the My Dream stamps, I think its best we ask AAUK or somebody who works for SEGA what the conditions to get the stamps are...

Stamps... What? Wrong thread?
And Viper, I was told once that every time you fail a mission you have to sit through the opening cutscene to that level again. I could be totally wrong, but if that's true I might as well have my tv remote ready at my side at all times for muting.
I've seen these cutscenes... they're evil.
But yeah, now that I know there's no escaping it I guess I'll just go out and buy a copy.

That's true, you can only skip a cut-scene after completing that mission. I got pretty tired of Helen because of the Sky Concert scene >_OAnd Viper, I was told once that every time you fail a mission you have to sit through the opening cutscene to that level again.

It's a shame because i heard way back in the beggining that JoD had multiregion lingo going on. It was obvioulsy scrapped for some reason. I don't dislike the voice acting but i do dislike the fact that they forced an accent on NiGHTS for people playing the game who arent British :/ It's too set and leaves nothing to the imagination. I mean the NiGHTS in my dreams always did have an accent but that's because I'm accustomed to people talking that way because i come from the place. Why the hell would people of other cultures (since dreams are universal) also hear NiGHTS with an English accent? Of course, this could be disproved if in any other game NiGHTS' voice changed to fit the people dreaming of him (i mean that would make proper sense). But i have a feeling they wont bother because they don't think it's a big deal. Bleh.
Oh well we can always bitch ^^

I think when NiGHTS hangs out with Asian, African, or American kids and the purple jester still speaks with an English accent, then I'll start to really bitch. It's pretty shameful to hear that all of the JoD versions have Americans attempting to speak with an English accent(flawed way of thinking I know). Ah well. Could get better with another title.

Personally, I hope we don't see another for quite a while. Maybe get some new and better people on Sonic Team. Maybe make NiGHTS good again.
