Now, I don't want to buy a Saturn for NiGHTS alone, so I need suggestions for other games to get for the Saturn.
Right now, I'm thinking off getting X-men vs. Street Fighter, and X-Men: Children of the Atom.
But after that I don't know of any other games to get.
Suggestions please?

Here are some that immediately come to mind.

-Panzer Dragoon Series (I, Zwei, Saga)
-Dragonforce
-Astal
-Virtua Fighter 1 & 2
-Virtual On (even better if you can get the twin stick peripheral)
-Shining Force 3
-Guardian Heroes
-Sonic Jam (best Sonic compilation...period)
-Burning Rangers
-Any Number of 2D fighters. In addition to the great X-Men fighters you mentioned, the Saturn also has the Street Fighter Alpha and Darkstalkers franchises in their entirety. There was also great support from SNK. The Saturn houses installments from Fatal Fury, King of Fighters, and Samurai Showdown. Best of all, all these games are arcade perfect and the D-pad on the Saturn controller is the only one I've ever experienced that feels almost as viable as a joystick.

Be aware of what your getting yourself into though. Frankly, the Saturn's library is crap on the whole since it didn't last very long, so many of the quality titles you're likely to hear about have become collector items of sorts. The really high profile ones like NiGHTS and Guardian Heroes are likely to cost you about 50 dollars and others like the infamous Panzer Dragoon Saga consistently go for over 100 dollars on auction sites. A Saturn is, oddly enough, a big investment.

True say. Those later games that were being released towards the end of the Saturns life were not produced on a large scale so they really are quite rare due to people not wanting to sell them and those who do realize they could make a good profit because of this issue. I've seen games sell over £80 before. And that's English money so in dollars that would have been double. As Zero said, be expecting to pay a little bit more than what you're expecting if you're going after the later games.

A few games from the top of my head that i owned and enjoyed -
Die Hard Arcade - (kinda like Street of Rage only heavily influenced by the Die Hard film)
Fighting Vipers
Fighters Megamix - (Fighting Vipers vs Virtua Fighter. PLUS- added secret nostalgic stuff for good measure. This is one awesome game to own).
Daytona USA - (even though it's only ever 1-player but it still has it's fun side to it)

Also I'm sure you know this but if you go after X-Men vs. SF or Marvel vs. SF you must find a working Saturn ST Key cartridge to run the games. But of course if you can get it, it's entirely worth it. The Japanese Saturn ports are still the only arcade-console perfect ports of those games, which is rather strange, all things considered.

Thanks guys!
I'm going to try to lay off the 2-D fighters a little bit, since I play a lot of these games online.
I love SHMUPS, too much fun.
Maybe this list can convince my dad to let me buy a Saturn. =)

The Saturn does indeed have some amazing games. I would go as far to say it is my favorite console. Unfortunately, most of the good games have become very expensive.
There are also some great games that are less expensive though, like Astal!

If you like shumps though, Radiant Silvergun could be VERY worth getting despite it being expensive. I think it sells for around $150 and requires something to allow you to play import games but it is fantastic. It is pretty much the most intense game I can think of, hundreds of things on the screen at once, an epic scale to everything mixing 2D and 3D graphics. The last boss is literally God (I am not joking) and he is quite difficult.
I think I spent a month's of pay from my crappy part-time high school job to buy it and I have little regret.

I'll also say that the Panzer Dragoon trilogy is probably the biggest highlight of the system (along with NiGHTS).

Anyway I feel like I am kind of rambling but Zero-Shift's post is right on about the best games generally being the most expensive and a lot of games being crap. Saturn fans must be discriminating but the rewards can be great!

zomg wtf. xD
I think my parents would freak out about that.
And they wouldn't be too happy about me buying a 125$ game. =P

I modded my Saturn, so I can just burn whatever game I want. And when it comes to playing imports, you cannot beat the Action Replay 4 in 1. Also, $150 Radiant Silvergun is for the compete thing, for just the disc it's more like $50-$70. It also contains my favorite boss period.

Most of the games I have are already listed -

The Magic Knight Rayearth RPG is tied for my favorite along with NiGHTS. But geez, some copies of it are going for upwards of $100! o_0 I could make some good money off that spare copy I have -

I got my copy of NiGHTS into Dreams from Amazon.com for a reasonable price. I'm browsing through the site now and still see a lot of Saturn games, including some mentioned here, on there for under $30. Just a suggestion for the price problem.
