Personally, I loved Sonic Heroes. But a bunch of people I know said it was a pretty bad game.

Just getting opinions here :3

Purachina, did you happen to choose something in "After Posting" when making this thread? For some reason it's shown as normal in the forum, but as "Closed" when reading it. :D If anyone else can try posting here and tell me if it did or didn't work I'd be grateful.

For some reason the faded closed button seems to be acting as a reply button for me. >_O
-edit- I fixed it. Unless, Purachina, you wanted no replies on this thread. Then we'll put it back.

It wasn't the best 3D Sonic game but I enjoyed playing through it as all the characters. It was good and just seeing the triple threat running along together was greatness.

=Scratches chin= I thought it was a rather good game, even if it had =Shudder= Amy in it. It was fun, regardless that there were a ton of glitches.
Then again, I might just be saying that because Metal Sonic was in it.

Aside from all of the unfair deaths that I've gotten- (Falling off a cliff for no reason while attacking in power formation, and the Eggman boss at the end of each story is a pain in the a**, for example) - I'd say it's a pretty nice game. Infuriating at times, but pretty good.
And yes, if you think about it with dynamic camera angles and TV show-style clips in mind for the game, it IS pretty frikkin awesome. XD It can seem pretty pointless to a gamer unless they REALLY think about why a game creator did it a certain way.

Fave books: Redwall series by Brian Jaques, Agatha Christie mysteries, some precise mangas and Harry Potter.

Favorite video games: NiGHTS, Sonic the Hedgehog Games, Mario Brother Games and most mystery, puzzle and RP games.

I have a DeviantART account under the name ChaotixJewels. It has both Sonic and NiGHTS FanArt and FanFics.
Actually it it's currently my number 1 favorite Sonic game (though I have some others such as Sonic Adventure and such). I love the fact that you can play through so many other characters especially Team Chaotix who make their return in this one (minus Mighty unfortunately) and my favorite Sonic Character to date Espio the Chameleon. True some of the ways to die are pretty glitchy (I've lost count how many lives I've lost in the Rail Canyon levels at 100, luckily not all in one sitting, just because I somehow miss a rail) but all in all it's a great game and the soundtrack for it Rocks!

I gave it a fair chance and I like a few things about it, but on the whole I thought Sonic Heroes was terrible. In my opinion its the worst of all the 3D Sonics. Yes, even worse than Sonic the Hedgehog 2006. There were just to many problems. Controls were even twitchier than before and old game mechanics got worse from previous iterations. How the hell did grinding get so bad?

There are other things too. Sonic has always been about speed, but since there are 3 different game mechanics being played all at the same time, the speed aspect was diluted. You'd be running until you reached a point where you don't know what to do, and take time to switch to other characters. I hated these moments were you came to a screeching halt. Sure, you could eventually get to the point where you run seamlessly through levels, knowing exactly what to do when, but this took repeated runs through level and a whole lot of trial and error. That's just no fun. Also take into account bland boss fights and what I call false replay. Giving us four teams to play was meaningless because in the end we were playing levels that were virtually identical from one team to the next, with teams that were also virtually identical.

It was just a poorly made game and the only thing about that I thought was flawless was the fact that Team Dark's song was performed by Julien-K. That was brilliant.

I found the game pretty likable. The team attacks were pretty cute and I rather enjoyed the cutscenes (especially those of Team Chaotix). The only problems that I had with the game was the fact that all of the courses were the same with the only thing different being the number of enemies that you face. If anything, I believe that SEGA should have done the same thing that they did with the Sonic Adventure games where even if the characters ran through the same level, the routes were fairly distinguishable from each other (e.g. Amy and Sonic's Twinkle Park, Sonic and Knuckles' Casinopolis). Another problem that I had, would have to be the Chaos Emerald races, but hey that's probably just because I can't get the Casino stage's emerald.

Oh yeah, and Tails' voice actor... that's the last problem that I had.

I really wanted to like it. I love Sonic and it was promoted as a Sonic game which would bring the franchise back to its platformer roots. I like all the different characters, it had great graphics, and some quality music.

But the gameplay was a pain. I kept falling off the level for no obvious reason. I never even beat the game with every team (to see the final ending) because of all the falling deaths. They absolutely turned me off of the game and I am unable to enjoy it. I also found getting the chaos emeralds more trouble than they should be.

I personally find it to be the BEST 3D Sonic game ever! But with the new game coming up, Sonic Unleashed, I might just be eating my words soon.

But it was still a pretty good game overall. I liked the gameplay, the bosses(the only ones I hated were Robot Storm and Metal Sonic's Boss Battle, both I hate for difficulty. I like Metal Madness and Robot Storm, but WHY did they have to be so darn difficult?), the voices, and the music. I also kinda liked falling over and over. Sure it's frustrating at first, but once I did it over and over, I got used to it, and soon, it became kinda funny. Lastly, I like the fact that Metal Sonic reappears. I just HATED the PC version. It ran soooooo slooooww.

My Rating: 9/10

It had several good parts, it had several bad parts. If I was able to change one thing about it, I would make the characters go through the levels in a different order. Example, Team Chaotix is inside their warehouse-like base, presumably in the city. Therefore, they should have started in the city level. There were some unfair deaths and I found the grinding to be horrible at times.

Curse you Rail Canyon!

Many people think the game was cheesy, but that's what made Sonic so great at the time. And I loved every voice actor in this game, even Tails. While I think his Adventure 2 voice is the best one to date, this one made him seem young and he still sounded like a BOY. I wish they'd get the old actors back. The game itself was quite upbeat, the music was good, and the way they had two parts of an area followed by a boss made the game feel a bit more like the older games. Sonic Heroes may not be perfect, but I'd say it's worth the $5-15 you'd have to pay to get it now.

It was ok overall. I hated the story and the gameplay was iffy. I hated the fact that glitches kept me from getting all the chaos emeralds and other random things that would happen. (Thats what I get for playing the PS2 version.) Though, it was still fairly fun to play. There are far worse things out there.

I wanted to like it. Lord knows i tried to like this game but it's full of sh!t. Chaotix make a comeback only without Mighty because Sega wanna act like he never existed. That only pissed me off as Mighty was my favourite Chaotix member.

The grinding was terrible. I hated grinding to begin with, it just annoyed me and was always too fiddly in SA2 so Sonic Heroes went one step further and shot grind into every damn part of the game. Rail Canyon is a prime example of this. It became such a chore to try and complete it with just one of the teams.

And if the game wasn't hard enough you had the camera screw with you on those specific jumps that you need to get 100% right or else you'll fall into yet another death pit. I think Sonic Heroes was the one game with so many bottomless pits that i just couldn't be bothered finishing it. I really didn't care what the ending was after a while.

Well the key to that was to go to fly mode when you are about to jump off the rails and onto another in the distance. Hell, grind in fly mode majority of the time. Sure you go slow but at least you won't die due to lack of good grinding control. :/ I think I got so paradnoid once that I was in fly mode the entire time down this spiral case because I kept falling off before......it took forever to reach the end.

Another fly mode problem if you can do that. Sadly it doesn't always work. (Always remember to jump into the cannon as Tails. ALWAYS!)

As for the ending, it was nothing special. You get to see Meta Sonic for a few seconds before he begins a long ass transformation and...then its downhill from there. Seeing Metal Sonic is nice even if its cut short though. Ah well.

Also, this reminds me of how many times I died on the jungle level. There are springs at the bottom of a ramp and you are supposed to automatically hit them...but sometimes you don't and you SOMEHOW fall in between them even though there is no space what so ever! Oh so much fun.

I liked it, alot. Though not as much as SA2, it is one of the few new sonic games i enjoyed. I liked the idea of the teams, and switching between power/speed/fly. It felt like an old sonic game where you had Tails following you again. The levels were nice and pretty and flashy, but had some flaws. Keeping the sonic theme of 'every world has it's own flavour' gave a rainbow plethora of colour and styles, which i enjoyed. And the final FINAL boss fight, AMAZINGLY EPIC!

But yes i got stressed at times with bad angles and those 'what the **** i won?' boss battles against the other teams. And i agree, TOO MANY PITS! But it made the game more replayable as it was so difficult. I think i barely earned enough emblems to unlock the many multiplayer maps (which sucked sadly).

On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the BEST sonic game ever (SA2) i give it a 7.9.

Bah, Sonic Heroes for me was when Sega turned from a steady decline into a Spiraling Nose-dive of death...
Don't get me wrong I enjoyed SA2 enough to beat the whole thing with all emblems and even get an A on the secret stage... but Sonic Heros felt slower the controls less responsive, the story for each character was just a copy of every other character's "story" if you can call it that, instead of weaving them together like in SA2 (they all did the same thing doing the same levels with the same overall presentation that made me feel like I was playing the whole game multiple times just with different characters that preformed relatively the same). Not to mention the lag fest that was 2p mode...
imo Sonic Heroes marked the beginning of the big "L" slowly being drawn on Sonics forehead...
I'm just waiting to see if the blue-blur can dig himself out of this hole...

THERE IS NO MIGHTY xD

I miss Mighty ;_;

Anyways, I liked it for a while.....but it soon became VERY annoying. The controls were way too erratic most of the time and the story was lacking to say the least. I mean really....Metal Sonic again?
