So, some agree and some disagree, but I personally say that Jackle, Puffy, Clawz and the rest should have made a reappearance!! Yeah yeah, I know that that would be kind of repetitive, but if I said that I would be a hypocrite, cuz I repeat stuff all the time! Now, what's your opinion?!

Extra question: Who was your fave boss in the last game AND new one?

YES. FREAKIN' YES. They should NEVER have given up the uberness that is Jackle.

And my favorites? NiD: Jackle. JoD: Reala. I know, he's not technically a level boss, but it's so fun to shoot him with giant balls. XD

I agree, and I just love hearing him go YURGH!! For some reason. My sister thinks I'm a weirdo cuz I laugh everytime I hear that.

It would've been nice to at least fight them, but not in the story. It wouldn't have made sense that different people would have a nightmare of the exact same creature.

I really like Gulpo and Queen Bella.

At least inserting Jackle as an unlockable would have brought the fanbase so much joy. But other than that, I don't think they should repeat the other 2nd level Nightmaren. It's [supposed to be] a sequel, so we should see new characters. We already got variants of Puffy and Gulpo in Donbalon and Girania.

Favorite bosses.. maybe Reala (NiD battle) and Bella.

I think the old bosses should either have been in it 100% or the new bosses NOT looking like homages*cough*ripoffs of the original bosses with different names :/ I mean they changed Reala a lil bit, but at least he was still Reala. The chamelon and Jackle were too similar as was Donbalon and Puffy. And the fish... don't get me started.

Bella was a really good boss because she didn't look like a ripoff of any of the old bosses. BoMamba looked a bit ehhh, not very NiGHTSy. Still kind of cool though. Though there seems to be a distinct lack of LEGS in JoD lol.

It's my opinion (and I know I'm probably alone in this) that the old bosses WERE kept. The reason NiGHTS, Reala, and Wizeman looked by-and-large the same from dreamer to dreamer was because they had a certain amount of presence and identity within themselves, so they chose a form they liked and, for the most part, individual dreamer differences didn't change their perception/appearance a lot. (I also KNOW that Reala doesn't have "bat tights," they're scars. How'd you defeat him in the first game again? Right, like that wouldn't leave a mark.) The other lower-level bosses were less focused on themselves and more focused on results (if you will), or they were just less intelligent. Either way this means that their appearance changed more significantly based on the dreamer's subconscious. So that means that Donbalon IS Puffy, Girania IS Gulpo, Bomamba IS Clawz, and Chamelan IS Jackle. Mind, this theory doesn't really explain why Queen Bella and Cerberus look practically nothing like Gillwing (and which one is Gillwing and who is entirely new), except that maybe their their forms were even MORE mutable/based on dreamer's fears. That's a bit of a stretch though.

Um. My favorite boss is Reala in both cases (although I... er, never actually got to Stick Canyon in the old game *cough*). As far as "DARN YOU DIE ALREADY BEFORE I CRY" difficulty, Clawz and Queen Bella.

XD Reala will make the YURGH sound and I'll start giggling like a maniac and then he'll pop in and go, "Everything okay in here?" and I'll say, "Just kicking Reala's butt...!" and he'll give me a look like I've got six heads. Don't know if it's my penchant for Maren violence that scares him or the fact that he has no freaking clue who Reala is or why I'm kicking his butt.

Some of the bosses can be seen as "ripoffs" from the original. I myself wouldn't care too much for a homage to old bosses but instead see 100% new and original bosses.

Preferably darker... oh man I think I really want darker NiGHTS game. Even more mysterious than the original...

but yeah bosses could have been more original.

I wish that the old ones were in here as well as the new ones. You could have defeated the new ones to free NiGHTS and the old ones to get the Ideya with the old ones being tougher than they were originally! That would have been fun! My Fave boss in NiD was Reala I'm afraid to say because you got to paraloop him and he wasn't as hard as Jackle (who was a pain in the butt for me defeat) and my fave boss in JoD was Cerberus because he looked cool and could even scare Reala. XD

I personally don't think the oldies should be story line characters, But It'd be cool (And not completely out of the question) if you unlock the old bosses along with the old dreamers. You know? not part of the story, but a skin change like.... If you face Chamelon as Elliot you fight Jackle. You don't fight him differently from chamelon, but you fight him anyway. Or facing Girania as Claris and getting Gulpo or gill wing (Depending on if they'd swap based on apearance or battle stratedgy)

Hmm, I like your ideas, as in unlocking Claris and Elliot, therefore unlocking different bosses. I think that would be neat, though I haven't unlocked the first two myself yet >-<

Now THAT would have been cool. The main advantage I find to using Elliot and Claris is you skip the talking part when you enter Bellbridge.

Though it still makes sense to me NOT to include the NiD bosses simply so JoD can stand on its own merits. Plus keeping NiD's identity a bit more contained to the original game.

I've got semi-ok-really-not-good-but-let's-pretend-it's-ok 3D animation skills but with enough time and enough motivation (in the iconic words on that one movie: "I'll need an unlimited supply of Xena tapes and Hot Pockets.") I think I could do something....

I want Jackle back in at least one more game. I mean, a floating insane jester who through cards at you seems pretty scary to me. I just want to hear Jackle's voice really. Donbalon was Okay, but somehow paralooping Puffy to death seems to be more fun.

I liked Jackle (even though I never played NiD) since I love his laugh, and Bella cuz the music rocks!

Only one of the bosses they should of kept was Jackle, but maybe they want to save him for another game if it does have a sequal. Furthermore, people was disappointed in Nights game some weren't. I think I'd rather have him back in when they figured how to fix problems in the last game and make it more fit the wii remote.

the new bosses are FAR better than the old ones. They are far more interesting to fight and a lot more creative IMO.
I, for one, HATE fighting Jackle.

The NiD bosses shouldn't have been practically replaced. Although I haven't played NiD *waits for bricks*, my favorite NiD boss is Jackle. My favorite boss in JoD is Reala. Because he's just smexy like that c:

well, some of the bosses were in the sequel. but the jackle wasnt a neccesary bad guy but i suppose he could have been a good add in, but the new bosses are also awesome. i do dislike the cat lady as of getting the cats in the holes are a big chore. but the chameleon took the place of the jackle, because he uses magic as well as cards. not to mention his theme rocks

The old bosses definately sholuld not ave been kept, in my opinion. I might be sounding too rude, but it's not a remake. Journey of Dreams is a NEW GAME! We were all excited about it before, what happened? NiD wasn't perfect either. I admit that Donbalon is kind of blah, but WHAT is the resemblence between Jackle and Chamelan? The wear a cape? No offence, but that's like saying Claris looks like Will- they're both humans!

I think that we should enjoy JoD for what it is, and that's a sequel/reimagining of NiGHTS with much more things to do than collect ideya. The original game was not destroyed when the new one came out, so "I miss Jackle" sounds kind of foolish. If you want to play NiGHTS into dreams, play NiGHTS into dreams. If you want a different story and gameplay style but still like some old friends, play Journey of Dreams. Deep down everyone loves Donbalon, Girania, and Reala's bat tights. we just need to accept these things as part of the "Fan" base, if we can call it that, and go on with our lives. Let's all stop whining about Jackle who, lets face it, was just another boss. Most of his "personality" comes from fanfiction and the like anyway.

And for the record, I like the original as well.

I would have to say yes. They should have been written into the storyline. After the end of the game (will or helen normal ending) they should have shown wizeman being reborn and creating strongger JOD nightmaren and restoring NiD nightmare to his fleet. That would have made the last ending a whole lot better!!!!

No, they shouldn't, they are good in the old game because JoD, with its crappy dialogue and voices, nagging owl, overly flashy design and completely laid-out-for-you storyline, it wouldn't do the old bosses (like my beloved Gillwing) justice.

But in my opinion, I think the old bosses should have been an unlockable feature. For instance, say if you fullfilled a specific requirement during a boss battle, then you'd unlock a particular old boss.

As for my favourite bosses, well to drop the bomb, I've never played NiD. So from what I've seen of the old bosses, my favourite would be either Clawz or Jackle, and from the new ones, Cerberus. His music was creepy......

Nope. Different game. I have my issues with JoD, even though I still enjoy some things about it, and I don't feel like any of the other Nightmaren belong in it. Not only that but there's the obvious "Its a new game".
