While listening to people complain/love/discuss/question/whatever the voice work done in JoD an idea hit me in the face. Since people have their own ways of percieving how certain characters sound, then why not show us? As in, mute a clip and revoice it to your personal taste.
You don't have to have madskills to show us what you mean, just (if you can), grab a video editor, get your favourite scene from JoD and redub it
I'm interested to actualy HEAR everyones different opinions since they are so varied and hardly anyone ever agrees. I'll have a go at this too i think...

Sounds awesomesauce. I tried my hand at voice acting an the San Diego Comic Con and got a big applause, so I guess I'm alright at it. However I don't have any way to do that. I like this idea though and I wanna see what everybody can do!

How should we go about saving clips though.. YouTube is the only way I know to have access to JoD clips.. dubbing over the talking and not the music being another thing.. hm.. cool idea though, it'd require a lot of pitch modulation, natch

Well, I was thinking just film the clip as you're playing the game and muting it to redub and screw the music, it's not important.

You know what? I'm going to do with with my cell phone. I'm going to play the game, mute it at one of the cutscenes, and talk over it. I'm then going to go through my dad's computer and into my own and upload the file. It takes a little longer to do it that way but I'm getting sick and tired of the cheesy voice acting in this game. I WILL DO EET!!!! Chalk me down as already done, TRiPPY!

Just know that the quality of the video will be sucktastic.

8D I'd do that, but I don't have a mic and I don't know where to get one. Plus I personally think my voice sounds like a guy instead of a girl. I'll see what I can do!

So does mine, and I can't distinguish voices well with my own voice, but I think I can still do better than the "Played your part...?" of Helen's voice actress. I've actually now done redubs of one of Helen's, Will's, and I've done the Wizeman scenes (including the Reala battle and Wizeman battle, which I commentaried throughout). I've also added a witty commentary, just because I'm a complete meathead and couldn't help it. I'll try to edit it out, but it's not during the voice acting. It's before and after, don't worry. It's sort of like an intro while I'm setting up and a bit of a commentary during loading times. It's a bit on exactly what I'm doing. You'll see. Feel free to edit out anything that isn't pure redub, once I get it on.

This is an excellent idea I WOULD have a go at this but I have absolutely no idea how to do this... plus I need to get a new mic... AGAIN!!!! My voice is abit low and I have no idea what a "good" voice of NiGHTS would be but I think I can do Reala better... can you also do voice overs for side characters? and leave NiGHTS with his original voice/mute him? (under the probable circumstance that I can't figure out how to keep his voice in the clip)

Instead of replacing NiGHTS voice with my own I tried to lower it a bit, but only slightly because I don't want it to sound too much like a guy either. It's difficult to get it just right to sound androgynous.

I agree with iLLViLLAiN. Not much difference. Although, I would have preferred NiGHTS to have a male voice, his, er um... her... uh... NiGHTS' female voice sounds good to me.

BTW, Muraskai. Is that you cosplaying as NiGHTS? That's a very good costume I must admit.

lol ya really. It was great. My NiGHTS voice, however, sounds like a dying goat on crack with a rod shoved up his butt while an angry horde of marmosets stabs him repeatedly with sporks while singing The Star Spangled Banner in a G note while the President drops a nuclear bomb on top of them and then the whole world turns to mush and you bleed your soul out your eyeballs.

heh, I might give this a shot later... though my voice would only potentially be suited to Reala (whom I thought actually had a decent voice... aside from that laugh), and even then I don't think many of you imagined Reala to have a thick Irish accent... XD

I think the voices are perfect for all the charecters. The one part thats kinda crazy is when NiGHTS goes:
