Bio: One day, Wizeguy was creating a nightmaren, when all of a sudden, a pian flies in. Where from? Don't know, but it got mixed up in the creation, BAM, there's Cassandra.

Bio: DaYZ, originally DarkJester, was Wizeman's Second-to-Final Level 2 'maren, thus making him one of the youngest. He was friends with Jackle and Clawz, but didn't like Reala. He found out Wizeman's intentions, stole the ideya and scattered them across DreamScapes. He flew back for his girlfriend, Light, but arrived too late. He saw that Light had been knocked unconscious and was being trapped in a green sphere. He himself was ambushed by Reala, who claimed he always knew he was no good. DaYZ managed to escape, but not before Jackle stopped him outside the main hall. Jackle claimed that was DaYZ was doing was unforgivable and that he would have to die. DaYZ tried coaxing Jackle to join him, but Jackle refused, saying that he would never team-up with a traitor*I'm sensing a little NiGHTS-Reala event happening here*. DaYZ was defeated, but managed to escape out a window. Before departing, he stood on the window ledge, looked at Jackle and said, "Light would've wanted your help..." and flew away. Jackle didn't learn of Light's fate until later, but by then, he was too late to find DaYZ.

She was Wizeman's Right-Hand Girl until eventually, she disobeyed Wizeman and teamed up with DaYZ to steal the Ideya.

Bio: Wizeman recalled creating the maren Selph, but recreated him to suit loyal, strong, first level, and on par with Reala. He was pleased with his handiwork*no pun intended* but after a day, DaRKNES helped a pian group and was sealed inside Nightopia. He's not the nicest guy on the block, but he's not evil either. He's also DaYZ team-mate for the time being.

Other information: Conceived when one particularly evil Maren (go ahead, guess who. Yes, accuse me of fangirling. I don't care anymore) got a little too big for his britches and managed to rape a human Dreamer. She had Droiture and immediately began to raise him as a good person, to be unlike his father. One day, when he was 17, he fell asleep and got into Nightopia. Once there, he found himself in Maren style, and weirded out. There he also met his father for the first time in his life, and realized he was evil. Droiture realized he had powers beyond that of a full Nightmaren, namely, the ability to travel in and out of Nightopia and the Waking World at will. He set about to right all of his father's wrongs and pretty much save the world. Uses a scythe named Enchantement, which means Rapture in French, in combat. Covered in ceremonial tattoos.

I'll add a pic of his human form whenever someone wants it. For now, be happy with this. If you can't see it properly, PM me and I'll see what I can do about buying a scanner.

Why she was created: Wiseman wanted to try to combine animal DNA with a regular Maren's, after Reala's birth he took some of Reala's and a fox and fused them. After that he got a nine-tailed fox girl and went on to name her Kyubi.

Her markings: in her making, Wiseman put red markings and gave her sleeves that went to her elbows with his symbols (like Reala's armor in JoD) that show absolute loyalty to her master.

Personalty: More on the quiet side and never opens up to her other siblings so when they ask her about things like NiGHTS and Jackle do she just ignorer's them and leaves.

Why she was created: After seeing how great Kyubi came out Wiseman decided to make another interspecies Maren but not after Jackle's birth and that was years later. He went on with his new creation, he did the same as he did Kyubi but this time he fused the DNA with a wolf. And when she came out she also had markings like her older sister but they had a faint glow and where a green color.

Personalty: Is pretty playful and cheery, she normally plays with her older siblings NiGHTS ,Jackle and occasionally Kyubi. Twilight is very loyal to her master and siblings, NiGHTS tried to get Twilight to help him rebel against Wiseman, but she refused and told him 'it's in her blood to remain loyal to her creator'. After that night Wiseman though she would rebel against him and sealed her in prison were she lays in slumber.

The Ideya Guardians
A fanfic concept I'm seeing more and more often these days and one of my favorites ^^ These were mostly maren assigned by a group called the Nightopian High Council to guard the dreamworld. In this fanfiction, the original five Ideya you were born with and could never lose or gain, but there were three "earned" Ideya that could change. I've been thinking of reworking this fanfic but I'd need to find the time somewhere.

It's hard to see him in the picture. Skye is a floating blue cloud of mist with eyes. As his Ideya would suggest, he is very smart, but he's also cold and treats emotion with scorn. He and Asteroyd were very close.

His hobbies include yanking the insides out of children and eating styrofoam. (Well, maybe not hobbies, but hey, thats crazy examples there.)

Roumi isn't as thought out. I attempted to make him different than most Nightmaren, but I think it kinda sucks.

Personality: Very laid back and mostly mature. A lot of the time there is something elegant and regal about him.
Why the eff was he made by NiGHTS?! MARY-SUE!! : Before you go and blow your rape whistle- His story was that he was a 17-year-old human boy (I think 17? Don't remember.) who was sweet-hearted, good in school, was on track team, and did traditional Japanese plays with his family. He also always was a strong believer in his dreams, to the point where that was his reason for sleeping. Good boy, yeah? Well to shorten the tale, he dies of leukemia and NiGHTS takes his spirit to Nightopia to live, because although he was human, he was such a good person/spirit that he let him live there as his Heaven.
Downside? : He's weaker than the other Nightmaren and isn't generally accepted by the others because Wizeman did not create him. He isn't some Mary-sue Nightmaren that calls NiGHTS his father or any dumb crap like that, though. He is also not bad, he is good. Not like.. NiGHTS good, but rather he retains his human personality. His story is what I thought was different about him.

Vivid was a doodle on scrap up until recently.

Age: None. I'd compare him to a 17-year-old, though.

Personality: Adourable, cute little thing it seems. Think of how cute and puppy-like that Spitter was on Jurassic Park. Now think about how brutal it must have become once it was tearing that fat dude's face off with it's teeth. Now imagine it smiling innocently all the while.
Thats Vivid.
Vivid is a Nightmaren, but he seems to not fall into the cute and happy WE FIGHT FOR THE GOOD OF ALL DREAMS Nightmaren. He is quite proud to bring horrible dreams, and I would like to think he specializes in nightmares where people physically feel things and those that seem good but make a turn for the worst.
Vivid can be like a doll, in that if someone or something were to try to hurt him, he would not feel or express it. He could shut the pain on and off, but mostly he keeps the pain, but doesn't show it in his face or body language, to enhance the creepy factor. XD He may even help it along a little. Trying to take out his eye? Don't bother! He'll do it for you! Having trouble hacking his arm off? Don't worry, he'll yank the rest of the way. It helps to scare and psych people out.

Finally there's the one I made for a contest.

He has generally not stats. :/ He has no real name, only "Squiddy", but I don't think that's gonna be his name. No specific height, weight, personality other than "mischievous"- Really no thought in that. I merely designed him.

Well that was more fun than I thought it would be. I needed that.

Lo-Lo has something called the Terraform Molt, which is when a creature (usually an ahrehk'taur) grows strange energy feathers. These are easily flung off and regenerated. When these energy feathers touch the ground, plant life springs spontaneously into existence. Unfortunately, Lo-Lo's is even more screwy than usual....she terraforms candy! When her energy feathers hit the ground, plants made of various candy spring into life. The energy feathers come from the tip of her tail. Lo-Lo never learns to speak properly, but she can sing operetic, wordless songs.

S/he is not a Fanmaren, but a "FanMare" or "Fan-Dreamscape" (Whatever the official name for the levels of NiGHTS). However unlike regular Dreamscapes which are lands of Nightopia that corrospond to the visitors attributes, ENiGMA is actually a living independant dreamscape. S/he is actually a shapeshifter but s/he likes to shapeshift into different dreamscapes and blend in as part of Nightopia. S/he doesn't have an actual voice but can still "speak". for example if NiGHTS and co are talking they have actual voices and subtitles, to ENiGMA it's just subtitles in yet everyone in the game can hear what ENiGMA can say. ENiGMA is a shapeshifter but likes to take the form of Dreamscapes, Powers of telepathy so s/he can read and mimic memories and is ofcourse has a kind soul. this soul is also visable and part of the dreamscapes of ENiGMA which is usually disguised as something that produce something like wind, water, etc. Both a weakness and sanctuary within the dreamscapes s/he becomes. When ENiGMA speaks it is mostly in riddles and like Marens has an interest in Ideya but only to know more about them that to steal.

Maybe someday, if people are curious on what ENiGMA could look like as a Maren, I may design an "Avatar" form but it still wouldn't count as an official form for ENiGMA.

Character Description: Ever since the second "fall" of Wiseman (Wiseman has ways of comming back...) other Nightmaren of high ranks began to have actually taken betrayal into consideration, NiGHTS being their new and more benevolent leader. The new smaller group of Nightmaren are known as the Maren Resistance, or Dream world Freedom Fighters (now where have I heard Freedom Fighters before? XD) iLLUSE was one of the few first to join. He, just like NiGHTS, wasn't really all that evil deep inside him to begin with despite his appearance. He was considered a rebellious teenager by Wiseman and wasn't very useful in his book (yes folks, I am calling iLLUSE a HE for he has a confirmed gender just like Reala lol).

iLLUSE always had a great desire to bring music to the dreaming world thus the reason for his constant playing of the "nonexistant" Piano in his previous Lair. When Wiseman was supposedly defeated, iLLUSE was lucky to be launched into the real world like NiGHTS and a few other missing maren. When iLLUSE met up with NiGHTS who had found two other Nightmaren and all were planing to create the Maren Resistance, he was more then happy to join them, finally getting the freedom to bring his music to life in the realms of Nightopia. iLLUSE can't really spin dash very well, so for powerful enemies, his next best choice is his tresured Violin as a weapon(think of his special attack as a ear shattering horrible screeching on the violin being done on purpose lol). He plays the Violin well however when he's not in danger and is out and about with his fellow resistance Nightmaren and Vistor friends.

His personality consist of him personally feeling insecure and is easily scared in battle against emesely powerful enemies(blame that on Wiseman's constant scolding to him for playing his music all day lol)He's very charming otherwise and always wants to show his friends any new music he composes or any new songs he learns and writes(did I mention his an excellent singer? 8D; ). iLLUSE was not born from Wiseman himself, but of two other Nightmaren parents who were two of NiGHTS MANY siblings, So NiGHTS is technically iLLUSE's uncle/aunt.

Residence: Think of a slightly more elaborate Hang Castle/Mystic Mansion from sonic heroes, with sonicy elements replaced with more macabe ones.
Powers: He can fly, teleport, and paraloop. He has foresight and telekinesis. A white Ideya he stole from a dreamer and decied to keep floats around with him.
Weakness: If his many elaborate acsessories are removed (such as his cape for teleportation, staff for telekinesis, and Petagram-shaped headpiece for foesight) he can no longer do the attacks assosiated with each item.
Friends: Puffy and Bomamba. They have tea together.
Likes: Sadism, theater, and opera.
Dislikes: Light, Dreamers, Stupid people
Personality: Dreanged, Like Jackle, but in a more cold, calculating, sinister way. An old fashiond gentleman, he conducts himself like a twisted Victorian. He has a bizzare sense of chivalry, and only attacks dreamers smart enought to brave his maddening castle.

Backstory: One of the first maren created, he is the the most refined of the group. He created his domain, a surrealistly gothic castle,using Wizeman's power, but knew he wanted more. Feeding of dreamer's white ideya, he created an elegant mansion as an interior where he could truly reside. In this proper setting, he decorated it classicly, with skulls punctuating the decor.

Siblings/Family: Daughter by the name of Sonata. Also is step-mother to Sonata's step brother and Genmou's son, Peace. BTW, Important note: SHE IS NOT RELATED TO ANY OF THE OFFICIAL CHARACTERS. I personally dislike doing that...but eh, each to their own.

Personality: She is opiniated, sharp and a downright b*tch to people. A contrast to my own personality. She is a drifter, cast out by her kind for crimes she herself does not recall committing. Her malice is only outweighed by her cynical view on the world she is a part of and she doesn't take other maren seriously...except the higher ranks of course. Her disgust of humans is only minimized by the fact that she has to babysit a certain dreamer. She however takes pride in herself, faults and all.

Loyalty: Despite protecting a dreamer, she still serves under Wizeman's hand. (LOL Literally)

Powers: Manipulation of mirrors - she can pass through a mirror or mirror like substances. This ability means she can pull unsuspecting dreamers into a realm where they face their own reflection and their reality. She consumes their ideya and leaves them lost.

Manipulation of ribbons/chains - Under her body, Aura wears ribbons round her chest, wrists and neck. These remain in place until she summons them. These ribbons cannot survive sudden attacks, fire or freezing. They are just fabric, no magic. The chains have a deeper meaning, during the time Aura was sealed for not knowing her place. She calls forth five chains, bound to the wrists, ankles and neck. These chains pull you until your dream body snaps, you awake and are left with the eternal feeling of well being stuck on The Rack.

The Shattered Rose - This is a "sword" that she wields...I guess. The sword is symbolic rather than a weapon. It's normally mounted in her chapel in The Discarded Dreams realm. She only tends to wield the sword as a decoy.

Flaws: Unable to assume aquatic form - Aura cannont assume an underwater form at all, if she goes into water, she can drown like a human. The reason for this is Aura has a terrible fear of deep water and the isolation it can bring. Again, contrast to me since I love to swim but anyway. If held underwater, she will drown, may not kill her but she will be weak and an easy target.

Limited physical strength - Aura is a spy and a gatherer, she does not need strength and against higher rank maren, she can be knocked down easily by other maren. She is built to escape and hide. Not to fight giant maren or even stronger humaren.

Addiction to Blue Ideya - Aura's addiction comes from the very ideya she was shaped from. Her need to consume blue ideya can often lead to her even attacking her own dreamer just to get nourishment. She won't die without it, she just needs it to stay sane.

Personality: Kind of quiet and reserved, Progocaria took on a more neutral side to the entire rebellion, but was known to help out NiGHTS when he asked for it. Her loyalty to NiGHTS didn't set well with Reala who, along with the demented Jackle, took it upon himself to punish the Nightmaren for siding more with NiGHTS than their master Wizeman. As a result... she's kind of terrified of Reala and will abandon everything to skip dream areas if it was even rumored that he was around. Progocaria loves music and performing arts and was said to have created a theater/concert hall somewhere in Nightopia, where she normally haunts. Strangely enough, probably due to the nature of how she was made, Progocaria isn't crazy like most of the Nightmaren, although she does possess a mischievous streak.

Backstory: Created as a failed apology by Wizeman for killing the stray kitten that NiGHTS had adopted, Progocaria was left on her own after NiGHTS refused to return to Wizeman's side. Still finding herself admiring NiGHTS' free-spirit and skills, Progo continued to support him even after he was captured, earning Reala and Wizeman's wrath. In attempts to avoid having to deal with her Reala-phobia, Progocaria ran for the hills and set up a concert hall/theater in Nightopia where she stayed to herself until NiGHTS just happened upon her again. She has no loyalty to any dreamers, but will help them out if that evil thing called a conscience bothers her enough.

Powers: Progocaria can't fly, but she does have a decent enough speed and agility with the abilities of an acrobat. She also can attack with music, both as a sound and as written notes. She also can attack her enemies by firing lightning bolts from her collar bell. Most of her other skills were self learned.

Weaknesses: Just as NiGHTS and Reala can't take a certain number of Paraloops, she can't either as being a victim of one causes her to lose one of her bells (where her powers are stored). If she loses all seven, she's finished. Because she was made to be a pet and didn't receive too much on the badass power department, she doesn't have too many tricks to fall back on.

Little BIO:
Sciz was a failed attempt at fixing the problem of that occured when Wizeman created NiGHTS. Wizeman saw that he could not place full independence of mind with awareness of surroundings and expect a fully loyal servent every time. This mistake was made with NiGHTS. In his attempt to find a remedy to this situation Wizeman separated portions of the 2nd level maren, Sciz's mind so that Sciz could not have full control over thought. Seperating the thought patterns backfired as even Wizeman had trouble controlling or even directing Sciz to his orders. It would seem that with Sciz's mind jumping constantly from one emotion to the next and one thought to the other Sciz lost trust in anything. He knew not what to believe because everything in his mind would contradict. With these problems he wondered off to discover the truths he seeks on his own. He is currently on Wizeman's list of Maren's to undergo mind transplant but it has proven difficult to capture Sciz. Sciz is constantly talking among "himselves" to sort out his actions. The nature of his mind makes him very unapproachable as he will swing one way to the other in the blink of an eye. Approach with caution. Known powers include altering dream reality to the perception of his mind within a 20 foot radius around Sciz. (Basically dream reality changes to his mind. i.e. changes in scenery, weather, company, physics, etc.) The duration of this ability depends on the area of influence chosen and exactly what is being altered and how it is being altered.

Fun time... >D I actually never used to like fan-marens (human jester-marens) myself and never thought I would ever create one, because in my mind NiGHTS and Reala are a binary system of dreams and reality that would be broken if I tried to insert a third element. However, I was bored one day, and came up with these two "in-between" characters. I was just going to abandon them after that, but then a friend and I both started having crazy dreams about them, and so I had to develop them a bit more. XD Yeah, they're NiGHTS clones and all, but I like them being that way. ^^;

Bio: OASiS is very energetic, flirtatious, and somewhat sadistic. His main talent is in forming illusions out of the fabric of Nightmare, which he uses to lure dreamers in after a frightening encounter--to show them a comforting illusion to lower their defenses before taking their ideya from them. Yellow ideya are his favorite, since he delights in leaving his victims utterly hopeless. However, besides forming illusions and being fairly agile, he is very weak, physically, and can't take a hit. Thus, he is quite lazy and often shirks any of the more mundane or laborious tasks of being a Nightmaren. Despite his evil tendencies, OASiS cares a lot about his counterpart, Magi, and if anything happens to him, it causes him to have a breakdown, in which he emotionally shuts down and will not interact with anyone for a period of time. These episodes of depression are rare, but suggest a possible gentler side to him that he does not have the ability to properly express.

Bio: Magi is very serious, studious, and intelligent. He loves to read, and mostly reads textbooks. However, since he is so well-read and informed, he eventually realizes a flaw in Wizeman's plan to invade Nightopia-- that it would destroy the balance of the Dreaming World and thus completely obliterate it. He decides to leave Nightmare, though he isn't very fond of dreamers or Nightopians, and resolves only to fight to prevent the total destruction of both worlds. Magi's biggest weakness is that he doesn't like to fly. He CAN fly, in that he has the ability, but he's very awkward and ungraceful in the air, so he prefers to keep his feet on the ground as much as possible. But because he doesn't fly, he has a surplus of Twinkle Dust, which he concentrates into a type of energy which can be used for small attacks and for shielding himself. He loves fiddling with the chemical properties of Twinkle Dust and other types of magical essences in the Dreaming World, and gets all crazy-excited over his own research and experiments, which he tries to hide all the time, since it embarrasses him. XD

Description/Bio: Shorter than the First-Level Nightmarens, this Second-Level is timid yet determined when the occasion arises. Her horns are bent and curled forward and on the front of her hourglass-shaped clothing are three somewhat-visible scratches. Her gloves extend up to her elbows and end in points at her joints. Dark blue and dark gray are her primary colors and her eyes are gray in general, although they tend to fade, either becoming lighter or darker, depending on her health. Her Persona is normal, only an indent where a jewel would be in the middle. (Note: This is Lull prior to her story ending...which I still need to type up at this point,)

Lull is physically weaker than even Jackle, but makes up for that with a special ability that Wizeman granted her (ha, wait till the story's done...eventually >>). She has no real connection to SQ most likely because he keeps hiding from SQ (and many others) in the Night Dimension when she is not on duty.

Edit: Ta-da! A rough draft of Lull on paint since I couldn't get to a scanner. Not exactly how she's supposed to be, but it's close enough for now. I'll try to update this later with Lull as a whole, completely colored in. (It should be noted, I'm not too good with paint, especially in the cold, tired...you get it. :P)

Sorry it's not coloured. x: Calin's been rolling around my head for many years and this is just its most recent design. It's mostly blue, though. Colour scheme is actually in the process of shifting. Its name is also pronounced like "Callin'", which may or may not have to do with the mage-like emphasis in the design.

Calin is... stuck up and mischievous; bit of a thief. It'll nab cakes from 'pians. ...And you can't see its woman!hips in that sketch, darn.

Short Bio: She's a melancholy rag-doll made of scraps left of other nightmaren. She seems to ooze loneliness of a lost toy that a child has forgotten as they grow up. She represents the loss of childhood and innocence. She was not finished and pines for hands of her own. She's a second level, meaning she can not drill dash. She has coils of tapestries she can use in an attack. When she wraps them around a nightmaren, she can make them dance with her like a puppet for a short amount of time. She has a very submissive personality to first level and some second level nightmaren and while she's a slight snoop, she also is a bit of a kiss-up.

She was cast into the void for one-hundred years. She had a bad habit of wishing to play with her dreamers/visitors and never allowing them to awaken. Many of them passed in their sleep because of her apparent need of companions to play with. Less dreamers means less nightmares. Wizeman could not allow that. She so far has learned her lesson for what she's done, but a keen eye has to be kept on her.
