I have got a Saturn off Ebay, and the Christmas version, I really enjoy it, but I'm still searching for the original game and maybe some NiD merchandise too.

Damn. Not only am I starting to feel like one of the few who played the game, I'm starting to feel like the only person here who likes NiGHTS because it was fun. Sure, there is a lot of symolism in the game, but I always thought the story was pretty insubstantial.

I totally agree~ I mean, I find it hard to understand how someone can be a fan of a game without actually playing it... Maybe I'm just purist like that. I seem to be one of few people here who actually played it when it first came out and loved it purely for how fun it is. It was only since joining the community that I've gotten more into the theory stuff but refuse to read too much into it because there isn't that much to read into IMHO. ^^;

Sure... there's symbolism and some great, deep theories that I'm a huge fan of (WTAHM for example)... but the actual game itself, to me, needs to be played to be understood and is very very different from what the fandom has built it up to.

I was learning about Sonic games on wikipedia and in cameo sections NiGHTS into dreams kept coming up, so I searched wikipedia and learned. Few years later, here I am. Completely ready for Journey of Dreams.

...>_>u i pseudo-played it
on frebuary of this year i'd downloaded the game with a emulator. That emulator WAS crap, but i was too happy to think about it XDu...i mean, that thing cannot emulate videos-part, openings or endings, music ( well it can but it made my ears bleed) and it was very slow. And yes i played on a keyboard XD it wasn't too hard tought
anyways, i don't think really that was the game-experience i wanted. But it's okay, i'll never can play anything from NiGHTS ;_;u...not in this country >:1

I've been a NiGHTS diehard for what, four solid years already? But I've never played the game.

Reason = I cannot find a fishing Saturn system for a decent price anywhere.

It's a vital part of this fandom, for heaven's sakes. After all, NiGHTS is only here because of the game; can we really get the true experience without having played it at least once?

I'm still hunting the thing down, though. Hopefully one day soon I'll nab it, if the PS2 version doesn't decide to show up in America first.
Then again, if that happened, I'd have to find a PS2 as well. XD Geez!

I haven't played NiGHTS yet either. D: A friend got me really into the game the way he described it. I did try very hard to find it but all I found was a used Japanese version of the game and a disemboweled Saturn. Journey of Dreams is probably the closest I'll ever come to playing the real thing or maybe I'll buy the remake if it makes it to North America.

I only played the game for the 1st time about 3 months ago and have since played it to death. For 11 years I wanted to play it ever since I saw a review in a games magazine. It was when it appeared as a challenge on the old games master (long live Dominik Diamond) that I really HAD to play the game though. Luckily its never to late (long live ebay) and everyone should grab a copy - its not that rare or anything! As hard as it is though - I have managed to ovoid playing xmas NiGHTS so far. Its the perfect xmas game and I want to save it till then!

OMG I don't remember that! Aw I'd love to see that I loved Gamesmaster! *goes to youtube*

I've only played a level or two of the original game, and then my TV exploded. No, I'm not kidding. My dad used my old TV for an experiment involving what would happen if he tried to put more stuff on it, and the TV spontaneously combusted and exploded, taking my Saturn along with it. No more NiD for this lonely little hermit child.

I haven't gotten the chance to play NiGHTS into Dreams... in about 8 or 9 years and even then it was the Christmas NiGHTS demo. I was highly addicted, HIGHLY. It was the only game that literally made me feel different without me having to think it was a unique game. Other games that sorta made me feel that way was the Metal Gear Solid franchise and even that series can't overcome my love for NiGHTS games, EVER! It was as though I instantly knew what my favorite game was. It gave me this awkward feeling that no other game could ever give me and still has yet to give me though Galaxy came a little close. The feeling for Galaxy simply wore off over time but not that NiGHTS feeling I will always remember. Before, that I was addicted to Super Mario 64 but after I played NiGHTS I could have cared less who Mario was(of course I want Galaxy still). I do have a chance to play JoD even though I don't have a Wii. My cousin, who owns a Wii, just needs to get off of his fear of flying through circles because of what he experienced through Superman 64. I feel his pain.

I have played the Christmas NiGHTS and NiGHTS into Dreams... roms last earlier this year and last year but to be honest I can not, in any way, say I played NiGHTS recently. It wasn't the true experience. It was slow and thus boring. I need a TV and the actual disc to have the fun I had all those years back.

EDIT: Wait a sec. I remember playing NiGHTS maybe four years ago when I slept over my aunt and uncle's house. My cousin had it. I borrowed his NiGHTS CD without his knowing just to listen to the music. He got mad and told me to never do it again. Good times ;)

^_^ still kinda feel ashamed for that

It really would help. I mean, it'd be pretty lame and, speaking for myself, would be disrespectful to get new people into the NiGHS fanbase through JoD but not to give those newbs(I use the time respectfully)a chance to experience the reason JoD was made in the first place.

Let me just say now that it is absolutely 100% worth all the time, money, and effort it takes to track down a Saturn , CHristmas NiGHTS and NID. The smile on your face that this game will inevitably fix upon you is truly worth it.

You make your own dialogue. Your own outcomes and your own meanings. That's one of the reasons the game was so popular with fans.

I spent about a year and a half living on eBay to find me a cheaply priced NiGHTS copy and Sega Saturn. It was worth all the time and money spent. *snort* Then I recieved JoD this past Christmas. Now I've just gotta get me some more moneys and buy a copy of Christmas NiGHTS.

I've never played it either. (I'm planning on gifting myself NiGHTS and a Saturn for Christmas though.)

When I was younger Mom was ANTI-Video Games. I was ten (2001) when I got my first system... which was a GBA. As a result I tended to get into video games because I liked the way they looked.

Can't even play JoD. (But I'm trying to talk my friend into buying it.) No Wii. The most up-to-date system I have is a DS. My PS2 is my DVD player.

I also haven't played NiGHTS. I'm not too surprised that little people here have played it either because a lot of the people here, like myself, are probably in their early teens and, unless their parents bought it for them, were not old enough to decide to get it, let alone have the money, when it came out. The only game system I ever had when it came out was my Sega Genesis, and it wasn't until 1998 that I got a Nintendo 64. Unfortunately for me, both systems are incapable of playing NiGHTS.

I think I got into NiGHTS through the cameos in the Sonic Adventure series, mainly with the NiGHTS chao during my chao phase. From that, I decided to do some background research and found myself here a few years later as a fan, listening to the soundtrack, having beaten JoD in its entirety, and waiting patiently for the remake to arrive at my door any day now. Hopefully it can provide me with an experience close to that of what the original would have brought.

Never played NiD, just JoD. :/ I've been looking up vids of NiD on YouTube, and it looks a thousand times better than JoD. How much do Saturns go for, anyways? Recently found my long-lost wallet and have 200 bucks burning a hole in my pocket with my b-day coming up this September. :D I'm wanting to know if I should go for a SNES or Saturn, and if I should buy it myself or see if I get it for my b-day.

Between Ebay and Amazon.com, I got the Saturn, NiD, and the 3D controller for only a little over $70. Of course, it varies a lot. Especially on Ebay. I've seen some Saturns alone that were $200-$300. Of course, that's still cheaper than the original $400.
