I sometimes get this in dreams, but lastnight i had a dream that a lady in publishing reviewed my comic work project that I'm currently churning pages out on ( www.imagni.com) and gave me a written critique on my progress. All her points were completely fair and valid. Woke up thinking ... 'wtf my own brain just critiqued me?' so will be implementing her points in real life now XD lol. Very useful! She'd written me a lengthy document that i could easily read and gave me pointers on dialogue and stuff...

I remember the time i didn't revise for my higher Art history exam, revised in my sleep and completely aced the thing 100% the next day.


Anyone else have useful dreams? It's documented that lucidity can help you study, test things out and so on, so lets hear your experiences

I've gone through the same; not as often, though. Only when I'm working really hard on something; and it's usually negative critique.

It tends to be mah subconscious's thoughts of how I could fail what I'm doing, taking the shape of someone I know.

I've been getting a lot of warnings, too, for that matter. I woke up one morning with a warning to hide all of my 18+ hentai videos >>.

I sort of have a project like that I'm working on too, that I want to make into a comic when I'm finally finished ironing out everything, lol. I first created it ages ago when I was like 14 and have been developing and tweaking it ever since. Most of the plot and characters have gotten more mature and less cheesy and cliché as I have gotten older, but the same basic ideas are there. I still haven't worked out everything story-wise and I keep rewriting and changing things, mostly because I dream about the characters in the story ALL THE TIME and my mind seems to come up with new ideas while I sleep that I end up using in real life. It's like I'm slowly reading my own story in my dreams and watching all the characters grow and develop with it. The ideas just come out of nowhere, too, it's like they have a life of their own.

So in that way it's helped me. My dreams seem to be able to tap into my "muse" in my subconscious that I have trouble accessing for creative purposes when I'm awake.

I've had huge arguments with people in my dreams that I'd never dare confront in real life, and every time it has felt like I'm done with it. I've said my piece, even if they weren't there to hear it. So yes, my dreams have helped me. : D

One that I'll never forget:
I think it felt more like a false awakening than anything, but I eventually figured out that I was dreaming when I saw a former coworker and very close friend of mine walk into the room I was in. She seemed irked, but I called out, said "Hey.." we got to talking and I was able to apologize for the way things fell apart in our friendship in and out of work. She accepted my apology and we moved on. Woke up feeling refreshed and relieved, since the dream ended on a positive note.

Another one, not so helpful, but it gave me insight for my studies/career? :
The rest of the dream was stressful and annoying at points.. I ended up running into my former Chem professor who was climbing in this giant tree. I kept following after him, every branch, a different thought scurrying across my mind. Eventually I told him what had been going through my mind, which was, "If I go back and re-learn Organic Chemistry a little better, I think that'll give me a good basis to figure out what branch of chemistry I want to study and be a little more proficient with the different reactions.." (mostly because I'm self-conscious about not knowing what reactions would've been most effective in the research I'd been doing last year). He said it wasn't a bad idea.. woke up before we could really get too deep into the subject matter.

Nightmares help me out more than my dreams do. They help me prepare for upcoming events that induce emotional stress This has happened to me a few times and really helped me out, although I will not post em here as some are personal and I would rather forget em... although I don't think I've ever had a critique b4... most of my dreams are devoid of sound... still thats impressive!

I was stuck in a rut with my art project for a while, and I was trying to figure out some new twists for the storyline.

I had been fighting with it for a week -- I couldn't figure out what direction to go with it. Then I had a dream that I was in the storyline of my project, and I entered into a different area than usual -- it was a golden city in the sky. Some of the things I saw in the city solved the problems I was having, so I continued working on it after I woke up.

Useful? I guess you could say that. My dreams are usually about helping me come to terms with the emotional side of my life rather than my productivity. Sometimes I notice my brain kind of working through other issues or practicing stuff. Many a night I've woken up and remembered sketching without my hands. Or sometimes if I'm worried about something, my dreams will remind me not to make that mistake. This morning, I dreamed that I had gone to school when I was supposed to stay home so mom could take me to a dentist appointment.

Dreaming helps me with music and writing and drawing. There was one dream where I was playing the piano in front of a teacher and she began critiquing me... can't remember what she said though... >.<
Sometimes I dream about vivid scenarios, like cliffs and stuff... and then my mind starts to change it so it's better looking...
Writing... In one dream NiGHTS was flying through the sky and singing to me... I have some lyrics to part of a song I'm writing now!

You lucky bastard lol. No I can't really recall any useful dreams but I do seem to suffer from Deja Vu a lot.

I have had several dreams that have helped me get over my fear of heights and water. I'll always be about to die and then go lucid. Then I'll go bungee jumping or deep sea swimming and slowly learn to trust myself around water or tall places.
